Very nice holiday, great food and very original, awesome animations!! Maybe the beach should be cleaner, but it was made by the weather. Thanks for great week, we can recommend this place! A & A from Czech

We spent 12 days at this hotel and had a wonderful time! It was all inclusive and the food was absolutely delicious and fresh. There was a wide choice of Tunisian and international cuisine. The offer of drinks was limited- coffee, tea, coctail, red and white wine, beer, cola, fant sprite and something they called juice but it hardly resembled it. why not offer also drinks like sparkling water with lemon, ginger or mint? the reception staff was very friendly and helpful, the cleaning lady hardworking (but she obviously couldnt read the do not disturb sign and also knocks and enters without me answering the door - not dressed). the dining room staff work very hard working and pleasant, especially Fadhel Raoned who was very nice. Karim, the barman at the beach bar always serves drinks with a smile! this cannot be said about the barmen at the Piano bar, they look quite grumpy. A question: why some people get better service then others? drinks brought to them in the dining room and wine served in wine glasses, table reservations while other get plain glasses and have to help themselves? For more then half of our stay the dining room door was closed for dinner, we could only dine inside with aircon not functioning- it was too hot inside. There werent enough deck chairs and for three days we were sitting in the sand. on the third day I went to complain to the manager and the problem was solved immediately, so feel free to express your concerns to the managers, they usually try to solve the problem quickly! The animation staff was also very friendly. However, the animation for kids consisted only of one friendly and kind lady (sabrina) looking after kids eg building sand castles and baby disco. do not be afraid to travel to Monastir, it is safe and the bus (0,5 dinar) or taxi (ask for fixed price 4-8 dinars) in front of the hotel takes you there within 20 minutes. I went there alone women (in my 40s) and was absolutely fine! the sea is shallow and there are not waves most of the time. the pool is deep and great for swimming. There was a free wifi in the room but it did not function all the time. Overal, we really enjoyed our holiday and we thank the hotel staff for making it enjoyable!

Marco, Nino, Djoy, Rico, Rio, Pop and maggi -> best animators ever!! Great holidays, amazing people! I can't wait to go back!! Great hotel and nice place to stay! Nice room too. The swimming pool is really pretty and the food is nice too. Thank you so much for everything!

Where can I start? .... This hotel is absolutely fantastic!! On arrival to the hotel we were wowed by what looks like a castle, then upon entrance into the hotel a beautiful lobby and happy smiling staff ready to check us in. Porter escorted us to our beautiful sea view rooms! (There is plenty of plug sockets) the view over the pool and sea was beautiful. After settling in to the room we checked out other areas of the hotel, the hotel is spotless and the housekeeping worked hard(special mention to nadjet) She kept our room beautiful. The one thing that stands out in this hotel is the staff. They are such a great team and everyone of them makes sure you enjoy your holiday!! From animation(Neno, who we struck up a friendship with who is a cheeky chappy), reception, waiters and the chefs- Who cook delicious food! Best food ive had in any hotel in Tunisia! And Samia from the spa who is so nice! The beach is stunning and flat to walk out into the water and safety is paramount at this hotel- we felt extremely safe and looked after, we would like to say a huge special thank you to everyone who made us have an amazing holiday, lots of love and we will be back soon!! Theresa and Claire ( SCOTLAND, Since everyone callled us that)

Just returned from yet another fantastic holiday at Skanes Serail. The weather in April in Tunisia can be mixed and we did have a few very windy days ,so make sure you pack at least 1 set of clothes for cooler weather, however I was very lucky and most days were sunny and at least 70+ everyday. The hotel looks, like a castle and is situated right on the beach. The water here is very shallow and you can walk out for a long time before it even reaches your knees - in summer it is like getting into a warm bath, it is beautiful here. The rooms are spacious, and there are family rooms here which I peeked into and they looked lovely. Tv in your rooms, and there are several plug sockets other than the tv plug. There is an inside bar - unfortunately this does allow smoking which is my only complaint. There is a huge pool which is kept very clean and an outside pool bar and beach bar, and also an indoor pool. All the staff who work at the bars are Brilliant and friendly - and believe me, I did keep them very busy... Food in the restaurant is good, and there is always lots of choice. The animation team work very hard, during day there is stretching, aqua gym, darts etc and the shows they put on are really good fun. I'm actually missing my twice a day darts, I was eventually getting slightly better..!! I've been visiting this hotel for several years now and it has always had a good mixture of people staying here, French, Polish, Czech, German, Tunisian, some Russian.... If you like the water sports you have lots to choose from- jet ski, parachute, fly fish etc and all at a very cheap price. If you like sunsets like me, on the beach area at Skanes Serail they are stunning - and the beach has several ' beer' benches to relax and enjoy watching them. There is a photographer who will take pictures also a very good price, and wow they do look very professional. There is also massage and beauty treatments in the hotel at very cheap prices , so maybe treat yourself.... and there are a few shops inside the hotel - the guy who works here doesn't hassle you to buy anything at all. And round the pool you can arrange several trips like the quads, pirate ship etc all at good prices. The all inclusive bar closes at 23.00 but you can still buy drinks , and if you want to go dancing there is a club built onto the hotel- l'empreinte - music here is excellent and only 5 dnrs for bottle of celtia. There is plenty of security and police in this area - so please don't let what happened 3 summers ago put you off from visiting this beautiful country. You honestly can't walk more than 5 minutes on the roads without seeing police. This area is very quiet but you can get a taxi to monastir- don't pay more than 10 dnrs - or there is a train at monastir airport which is only 20 minutes walk and costs 550 mlms and if you look out of the right side you see pink flamingoes in the salt flats - there is also a speedball inside the airport if you need to get some money as you can't get Tunisian dinars until you are inside the country - also it is illegal to take tunisian dinars out of the country - so don't get too much money. Try to visit the local market/souk in Monastir on a Saturday - It's past the pirate restaurant - some taxis when you say market will try to take you to the medina in Monastir instead of the souk - it is huge and a real local market so you don't get the hassle like in the medina - the material you can get from here is gorgeous- but the souk finishes at 13.00 so get there early.. I would also commend this hotel for celebrating New Year at. Last year I was lucky enough to celebrate my New year here and it was an amazing night - very tunisia- Tunisian singers, live band and so much dancing - It's was a brilliant evening. All the staff work very hard, and are very friendly. And a big thankyou to the reception staff who have deal with complaints daily - you are all brilliant. And a big thankyou to everyone who made my holiday brilliant - see you all very soon x

As usual, you get what you pay for; this is a simplistic low budget hotel. It satisfies cleanliness everywhere, good food, nice clean heated indoor swimming pool. The outdoor swimming pool looks nice too, but not for these cold days of the year. The hotel faces Monastir Airport, which might not be a real asset, regarding that the city is small. Entertainment is much lacking. Charging mobile phones and tablets is a big setback, there no power outlets in the room except one for the TV, so guests are assumed to have a multi-outlet hub. Most of the guests are Russians and Germans, and there are several students participating in sport and conference activities. Receptionists are helpful, some though have some rude way of talking. The cleaning staff are doing a good job, but they open the room door without asking first and despite a do not disturb door tag!! All in all it is an acceptable hotel without disturbing hassles.

In early August my family and I were vacationing in Tunisia at the Skanes Serail hotel. We were received cordially. Golden sand, bright sun and warm clear sea warms the soul and body. Monastir fascinates with its ancient beauty. Special thanks I want to say to the entertainers, because of their diverse and rich entertainment program of the evening was filled with fun and joy. We loved Tunisia and will return there again.
