Lovely beach hotel. All the staff in restaurants and bars are brilliant. Spent most of our peaceful days on the beach where we were very well looked after by the beach barman. Holiday was made extra special by an upgrade from the manager, first room was good but the second was outstanding. Food was ok but some day little choice. Really enjoyed our 7 days of total relaxation. Many thanks to all the staff.

First of all, I really enjoyed the luxurious accommodation and the beautiful room with the sea-view and two balcony’s gave me a comfortable feeling. The added spa program was fantastic and the architecture of the whole hotel was overwhelming aswell. Everyone behaved very friendly, especially the two animators Nolla and Casper who I still have contact with, because they enlightened my single trip and made me feel good every minute I spend with them. It was very nice for me to meet those two and I enjoyed their company a lot, I’m very thankful that they made my trip better than expected. All in all, it was a fantastic holiday, I highly recommend to visit Royal Thalassa, for sure I would do it again, if I could.

When we arrived for our week long break it was pouring with rain yet we were greeted by a lovely welcoming porter who helped with our luggage. We were offered a refreshment and refreshing towel before being escorted to our room. The room was lovely and had a lovely welcome fruit plate and water waiting for us. During our time at the hotel we met some lovely team members that we believe deserve recognition. Monta in the Bar was genuinely warm and welcoming from the first day, the entertainment team Nola, Casper and Majdi kept us laughing at the pool and added some sparkle to the holiday, Ali from the Mona restaurant delivered excellent service and Nasir in the buffet restaurant had the best section by far and offered some amazing service. Yes there were some odd food combinations but there was definitely something available to eat at every meal without issue, yes some of the other guests manners left a little to be desired as they are not willing to wait in line but that did not deter or spoil in any part our holiday experience. The housekeeping was fantastic and the rooms was beautiful and clean. And the grounds and pool area well maintained and cleaned daily also. The beach was beautiful but after the poor weather on the arrival day the storm did wash up a lot of plastics and I think this is one area where the hotel could improve and move ahead of the competitors by reducing the amount of single use plastics (straws and bottles etc). The only other small niggle was glass availability at the bar as they seemed to run short of glasses which meant getting drinks served in all kinds of differing glasses even when we ordered the same drinks (one in a tall glass and the other in a short glass). Mr Anis you do have a lovely hotel to which we hope one day we will be able to return to.

We booked and travelled as independent travelers as we have done at this hotel over the last 10 years The hotel room was good although the bathroom could do with a refurbishment, especially the bath / shower which was below standard for a 5 star hotel, however the standard of maid service was excellent. Unfortunately the hotel was mainly full of all inclusive guests ( mainly Russians I think ) and so the quality of service in the restaurant and bars had declined substantially since our previous visit. Food quality was lower and less choice in the main buffet restaurant and really not good at all in the a la Carte restaurant. The service was so bad that it was often difficult to find a clean table and they were generally left uncleared throughout the meal , not a pleasant environment to enjoy a meal. Finding clean plates, glasses, cups and spoons was often difficult especially in the morning. While some of the staff did their best to provide some level of service they were obviously under severe pressure to cope with the numbers of diners. The Spa was as usual excellent , both in its standards and ambiance and was the best part of our stay. There is an excellent shop with high class and reasonably priced local clothes and handicrafts

On arrival we were greeted by 1 of the directors Anis. He made out stay very welcoming and helpful, and also gave us a fantastic suite. The facilities were great, all staff were exceptionally brilliant, including the bar man at the pool, who always made sure we had our refreshments (gin/vodka) Entertainment wasn’t what we expected, however it was very enjoyable. Food was ok, that’s all Animation staff were brilliant Madji, Casper and our good friend Nolla. Another animation guy was also good however we didn’t have the pleasure of talking to him Nolla and Casper went out of their way to chat to everyone and made sure we alway had a hello every day, very happy staff, we hopefully will return next year. 10/10

The pool area is great and the beach is narrow with shallow water so you can walk out a long way before it even gets to your knees. Location wise there aren't any shops so if you've forgotten something or need anything you'll ned to go into monistir or sousse by taxi but overall it was peaceful and relaxing with no loud music around the pool. I found most of the staff very helpful, except you can't find anyone to book the special restaurants with on a wednesday, I asked reception 3 times during the day before finally being told it's that person responsible was day off.The food was ok but the layout of everything in a straight line meant you had to queue like school dinners....but I found it varied and hot. The tables weren't relaid quickly. I found that if you were polite and let the staff practice their conversational english with you they reciprocated with great service, the guy by the pool who kept moving my umbrella to keep me in the shade or the waiter who would find me a table and top up my drink at meal times or the guy behind the bar who filled my travel mug with hot water for my bedtime cup of tea! Having stayed at many hotels around the world from 2* to 5* this is probably 3+*..... Would have been nice to have had more info on the spa from the concierge.

This is the first time I've ever written a negative review of any hotel I've ever stayed in, so it has to be pretty bad. TUI rate the place as 4 T's and the hotel rates itself as 5 star ⭐️. It gets nowhere near either. It's definitely missold by TUI. From the outside, the grounds, the pool and the beach, it looks like a wonderful place to spend a relaxing holiday in the sun. The reality is entirely different. The rooms are tatty, not cleaned properly. It seemed as if we had to ask or chase someone constantly for even the basics: Soap, toilet rolls, a working phone, a working TV, light bulbs ( there was only one lamp working when we first arrived). TUI's description of the room tells you there's a minibar. There isn't. It's a dilapidated, dirty fridge with nothing in it and good luck with getting anything put in it. On the food front, the selections at the buffet are very much geared toward the Eastern European guests, but I'm not sure that even they would choose green beans, broccoli or baked potatoes for BREAKFAST. I kid you not. If you like sweet stuff for Breakfast, Lunch and evening meal, you'll love it. That's if you can get a plate before they run out and find a table with table linen that's been washed since July. Like most guests, we were invited to a Gala Evening meal at the Mona a la carte restaurant, which was actually very nice. ( We were used to dirty and stained table linen by now). We booked for our last but one evening, expecting a similar experience, but what we got was totally different. I can't remember what the starter and main course were because I'm still traumatised by memories of the dessert, which was meant to be a fresh fruit salad. It might have been fresh when prepared, but had all started to go brown and dry by the time it got to us. It was also covered in mosquitoes. We left and retreated to the buffet. The place is definitely understaffed and constantly running out of basic essentials, but that doesn't bother the Russians because they don't believe in queuing. I have to mention the good guys ( definitely not the reception staff who were all rude and incompetent) All these people were doing their best under very trying conditions: Annis, Yoris, Abdul, Naceur the evening waiter and the Lifeguard/ Towel guy and general fantastic help around the pool - Houssem Lazreg. What a star and he was just a student there for the season. To sum up, we know you had to find alternative guests when we stopped coming after the shootings, but if you want the Brits to start coming back AND returning, you'll definitely need to up your standards and your game, because you definitely won't be seeing us again 😎

Something seriously wrong with this hotel. We booked 5 star, it wasn’t even 3 star. The rooms haven’t been upgraded for years. Shower over the bath, cheap plastic shower curtain, paint in bottom of bath to hide damage and dirt. Crack in washbasin from rim to plug. Towels grey, stained, threadbare. Bed linen grey, stained, pillows filled with foam cubes. Two minuscule shampoo and shower gel, never replaced, loo rolls in short supply. Staff were mostly untrained, and couldn’t care less. Alcohol watered down, shortage of mixers, drinks served in very small glasses. No waiter service at all, queuing at the bars compulsory. Waiters in the dining room were friendly, tried their best, food - was, well mostly edible. The pool was lovely, no complaints about that, the sun bed mattresses were disgusting, worn, dirty, wet and stained with who knows what. Toilet for the pool was grim, often no paper towel and loo roll, floors filthy. Air conditioning was often turned off in the communal areas during the day, making the indoors unbearable. The Tui rep Yasmin nearly passed out at the welcome meeting, she was not bothered by the complaints made by British holiday makers, instead pushed to sell the various excursions. She told us we had the best room in the hotel, she told others the same thing. One family had “water” seeping up through the tiles every time they flushed the loo. Another got white paint on their feet when they stood in the bath. Tui have been informed with photos as proof.

Animation Team was really geat. Especially Nola and Casper. So kind, helpful and possitive people. Thank You guys for everything. You are the best. I hope we will come back some day. And this is the biggest plus. Service poor. Food could be better. Rooms ok. Weather great.

It was pleasure for us to rest in this beautiful hotel. The room was big, modern and clean (with romantic sea view). Restaurant with wide variety of delicious food and super nice waiters (special thanks to waiter in the corner near outside door and beginning of kitchen). Live music every night is a nice bonus. Staff was very nice during whole stay - everyone was helpful and kind. During our stay I asked my girlfriend to be my wife :) Manager Annis (sorry if I misspelled your name) helped me a lot with organizing table with flowers, candles, wine, fruits and deserts in La Voile restaurant near sea :) And she said yes!!! At the end of vacation the manager invited us for an elegant dinner to Mona restaurant with live violin music - thank you! We also would like to thank another manager who we have spoken with many times in restaurant during meals. Everyone of you was so kind and it was very nice to meet you!!! We hope to see you again! One more funny thing: my mother was in the same hotel 15 years ago! What a coincidence :) She also has positive memories!
