Roaches?
I booked this as a solo trip for my birthday. I sought out this hotel and was very excited for my stay. However, my experience wasn't the best.
Upon arrival to the room, there was a cockroach above the bathroom door. This was dealt with swiftly by the cleaning team. However, over the course of the next few hours I had more run ins with cockroaches. They were outside my door, I heard them scurrying under the dresser and bed, in the bath and even dropping from the vent. The team informed me they were harmless and sprayed my room twice with bug spray, but they were still present.
I spoke to the front desk and asked if I could be moved to a different room and was told this was not possible as there were no more rooms available and I was to come back in the morning to check again. So I booked another hotel as there was no way I was sleeping with the roaches and asked the front desk to book me a taxi to my new hotel. I was then shown by the man at the front desk and the manager, a total of 3 different rooms that were available and prompted to cancel my (non-refundable) new hotel room.
I spoke with others staying at the hotel and was told that they have also experience some type of bug in their rooms.
The food options were not very varied or labelled correctly.
The hotel itself is in need of updating and maintenance.
I asked for Hotels.com to reach out for a refund and this was declined by the hotel. Overall, one of the worst holiday experiences I've had.
