Excellent time at Boucan, Hotel Chocolat. I highly recommend!

Boucan by Hotel Chocolat is a hip, eco-friendly boutique hotel with gorgeous views of the Pitons. The chocolate concept was reflected very well in everything from the towels to the tiles. We stayed in the standard lodge, which was very spacious. We enjoyed that the room was open to the outside--it was enjoyable to sleep with the rainforest breeze coming in and shower al fresco underneath a rainfall shower. We even had a very curious bird come in and visit us! Fair warning that the hotel is located near St. Lucia's famous Sulphur Springs, so you may occasionally catch a whiff of sulphur. The hotel provided a free full service breakfast everyday, which included a platter of fresh local fruit and smoothies (which changed from day to day) and cooked to order eggs, omelettes, bacon, toast or the special of the day. We also grabbed drinks and dinner during our stay, and the service was fantastic. The pool was fairly quiet - non-guests did step in to take pictures fo the pool, but we were able to lounge around undisturbed for the most part and enjoy the lovely view of the sun setting over the Pitons. The on-site spa Cocoa Juvenate was very relaxing - would highly suggest trying one of the chocolate treatments as you will smell heavenly afterwards. Note that this hotel does not have direct access to a beach, but instead provides round trip transportation to Anse Chastanet and Sugar Beach two times a day, as well as activities every day.

Beautiful hotel with a warm and lovely staff. More like an eco-lodge than a resort. I appreciated that they ran a free shuttle to the beach every day. It didn't have every creature comfort, but it was a good place to unplug. I would have appreciated wifi in the room (the only place with wifi was the main lodge).

We stayed here for a week recently, and we were blown away by Cuthbert's tour of the plantation - he is so passionate about his job! And we were able to plant a "family tree" on the property. Totally worth taking this tour. We expected to be able to buy some of the chocolates from the hotel, but they only sell a few items. It's not sold on the island at all from what we could tell. The hotel is a relaxing place to stay. We had a car, so we didn't get bored. The rooms are open, totally, so we couldn't turn the lights on at night for fear of mosquitos. We lost that battle anyway, even though we also bought citronella candles in the local town. The shower is incredible, especially when it rains. You can also hear your neighbors doing all sorts of things...We enjoyed our stay, but if we had to do it all over again, we would have limited it to 3 nights.

Customer service was superior. they arranged car service for our entire trip, not just for our days staying there. The rooms are gorgeous. The grounds reminded us of jurassic Park. The staff, rooms, and food are amazing. The tours where you plant a tree and make a chocolate bar were highlights.

Loved our stay at Hotel Chocolat! The staff was so so so great! Delicious food at the Boucan.. and the outdoor showers in the luxe lodges are to die for. Can't say enough good things about the hotel - the tree to bar experience was AMAZING! Also loved that they provided a shuttle and boat ride to sugar beach. We had the best time ever :)

We stayed in one of the lodges up on the hill. They are open air. At night it is a little loud with all the animals and insects so it was hard to sleep the first night. Use the earbuds they provide. The food is amazing but the menu didn't change. Pool is freezing.

Thanks for your comments. We have everything in place for room wifi but the current problem has to do with the provider, and being on a small island we do not have many other options of providers We look forward to seeing you again soon.
