Beautiful modern hotel in the hilltop grounds of the old castle. Stupendous views from the balcony of our well appointed room. Easy walk down to the old town with its ancient buildings and lovely park.
A very good option for a stopover in Soria. Although located in a hill, it is easy to reach the city center by foot. The hotel facilities are good, with free parking and WiFi. Great views over Duero/Douro river. The price level is a bit too high for what the city has to offer.
We stopped in this beautiful hill top hotel , sure it would deliver as we have been in many paradores throughout Spain. The surroundings are very attractive, it's quiet and shady. The hotel is clean and spacious. We dined in its restaurant and it was a disappointment. Main course was cold and so the fat in it ( rabo de toro) quite unpalatable. Dessert was according to the menu, 'bizcocho de chocolate CALIENTE ' , again, stone cold. It should be advertised as such if this is clearly not the case. Quality does not reflect the price. Mucho mantel y poca calidad ..!!
Soria is a pleasant, quiet town. Most enjoyable was the walk along the riverside to visit the picturesque hermitage of San Saturio. The Parador is nicely located at the top of the hill that separates the old part of the town from the riverside walk.
How can I describe this special hotel, perched on a mountain, overlooking Soria? It felt like going back in time when people were kind and considerate and the world was calm and beautiful. Our rooms were huge and included two glassed-in porches from which to view the hillside, enjoy a coffee, catch up on reading. Our breakfast was included and unlike so many chain hotels, delivered in a dining hall with linens and coffee service, very, very civilized. We feasted on Iberian jam, Manchego cheese, fresh fruits and yogurt, bakery breads and pastries, and fried eggs. At dinner, we were surprised by a fine dining experience. Best of all, a surprise gallery showing by the sculptor Sara Gimenez resulted in our acquiring some excellent artwork for our home. An easy walk to town, but you can get a cab in five minutes if you need to.The staff was gracious and accommodating.
Let's start with the view. The Parador sits on the site of an old castle with a commanding view of the city and river below. The area around the Parador is a large well maintained park with lots of walking paths. The welcome to the Parador is gracious and informative. The rooms have great views and are well appointed. I had read the Paradors of Spain wanted to be known for their food as well as their rooms. They hit the mark. I would not normally eat in a hotel restaurant but I am glad I did. Wine is a great bargain.
Very comfortable modern Parador situated on a hill above the old town. Lovely spacious room and comfy bed. Excellent evening meal and superb breakfast but had to pass on the red wine!! Peaceful location with super views.
Fabulous location on hill overlooking the town and surrounding countryside. Well appointed rooms with great views. Good food. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay again. A few minutes walk into town and it's numerous plazas and bars.
I elected to stay at the Parador in Soria when i competed in the European Duathlon Championships. The hotel and staff are excellent with many speaking English. The views are sensational, the food excellent the romms were very goo too. While i was happy going up and down the hill to the centre you do need to be mindful it is a stiff climb. You can always get a taxi. Do not let it put you off this fine hotel as the benefits outweigh the slightly off centre mountain top location. Highly recommended.
We received a warm welcome, had a wonderful surprisingly large room with balcony and amazing views. The monastery of San Juan de Duero is well worth a visit and we enjoyed the walk down the boardwalk to the river.
