Parador De Soria

Another excellent parador, with superb views from our room towards the distant mountains and the river Duero below. The standard room was fine, the breakfasts were, as ever, excellent, and the staff were mostly very friendly and helpful. The wifi was good. We ate there one night, and found the meal a little bit ordinary for the money, which is typical for most of the paradors we have tried. The dining room staff were very friendly and helpful though. Although the parador is slightly out of town, on the castle hill, Soria is a small place, and it takes only about 12 minutes to walk from the parador to the Plaza Mayor.

The location was amazing - incredible views! Building is beautiful and impeccably maintained. If you don't take a hike during your stay, you are missing out! Our only complaint was that the atmosphere was a little stuffy.

Our first visit to Soria for 28 years, this Parador was above expectations. A welcoming environment on a cool rainy evening, there were a number of [academic] guests visiting the historic roots of the Spanish monarchy, which made the hotel seem rather busy. Our accessible room was very comfortable, having a sitting area and enlarged bathroom. the restaurant staff were very attentive and served us well.

It was brilliant! The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. The food was of the highest quality. The room was comfortable and the views from the window were memorable. Everyone went out of their way to serve us.

The reception at the desk upon our arrival (and with our check-out) was very cordial by Sr. Pablo Calvo Felix. Our room was big, clean, luxurious with a sun lounge with a breathtaking view on the landscape deep down. We found in the room nice attentions. Very much appreciated. Our bathroom was big and clean with a lot of bathroom items. Wining and dining is excellent. Negative point: the two lady staff members in the restaurant, Pilar Checa and Sonia .... are doing their job with the minimum of enthusiasm and their way of serving is absolutely not according the school of Paradores! Now and then a smile to the customers would already change a lot. The young waiter called Mario is a great contrast with his behaviour and way of serving compared to his two lady colleagues. Our compliments to him. In this Parador the WiFi connection is very good, stable and fast. Wish all Paradores have such a good connection. We've met in the cafetaria a very friendly and efficient waiter Sr. Jesus Gallego. Also for him our compliments. He understands how customers have to be treated and served.

Nice hotel, lots of character, but not 'old' or 'new'. Once inside access is easy, but can't get too near to the main entrance without some help. Room a good size, although TV a little difficult to view, but as you experienced Parador visitors know, you might get BBC World only. Bathroom a good size, BUT rather oddly, the shower area has a white tray, which could prove slippery. My wife used a our trusty rubber mat we always take with us. A great view, the same as the other rooms.

Excellent, enjoyable stay. Friendly efficient staff (reception, room maid, restaurant & bar). Nice room. Have stayed at Soria many times & will again. Room maid was particularly helpful when my wide was unwell.

Beautiful modern hotel in the hilltop grounds of the old castle. Stupendous views from the balcony of our well appointed room. Easy walk down to the old town with its ancient buildings and lovely park.

A very good option for a stopover in Soria. Although located in a hill, it is easy to reach the city center by foot. The hotel facilities are good, with free parking and WiFi. Great views over Duero/Douro river. The price level is a bit too high for what the city has to offer.

We stopped in this beautiful hill top hotel , sure it would deliver as we have been in many paradores throughout Spain. The surroundings are very attractive, it's quiet and shady. The hotel is clean and spacious. We dined in its restaurant and it was a disappointment. Main course was cold and so the fat in it ( rabo de toro) quite unpalatable. Dessert was according to the menu, 'bizcocho de chocolate CALIENTE ' , again, stone cold. It should be advertised as such if this is clearly not the case. Quality does not reflect the price. Mucho mantel y poca calidad ..!!
