Brilliant location for Trondheim airport, easy to find. Very friendly staff. Nice clean hotel, everything you need from a hotel. Excellent breakfast, a very extensive buffet. No complaints, we would return.

We stayed at the hotel for a week in connection with Jehovah's Witnesses gathering in Stjørdal. Nice and helpful service, and extra friendly to the kids. Thumbs up! The breakfast was the best I have ever experienced, so be sure to meet early to get the most out of it.

Reasonable priced place to stay for a family one night. Very nice hotel. Service minded and cheerful staff. The kids loved the small swimming pool before going to bed. The room had a great view and we could count aeroplanes landing or taking off from Værnes. And the occasional passing train was a hit as the kids ran to the window every time one passed. There was a bit of noise from the trains with the window open but I did not mind. The breakfast was maybe the best hotel breakfast I've had. Lots of food to choose from and everything looked good. Again a very friendly staff and a chef making food behind a counter. This is a place we will visit again traveling Norway! They have 4 slow charging spots for EVs and it was enough for an overnight charge.

I stayed at the hotel in June for a conference. I am very torn between 3 and 4 stars here because there are som good things about the hotel and some that are quiet bad. Three stars to push some changes... 1. Location This hotel is located 400 meters from the airport. A short walk is all that is needed. It seems that they offer an Airport Shuttle, but I didn't need it. You are however best off with your own car if you stay longer than a night. There is nothing here to do otherwise. Sjødal is 3 km away and the "shopping center" has not much to offer. The only "food" opportunity compared to the quiet expensive hotel food is the Shell gas station 300 meteres away... not really an option. 2. Staff Very friendly. Warm welcome, answered all questions in a good way. No complains here. 3. Food Breakfast is great. Not as good as it is at Scandic Nidelven in Trondheim, but they definitely took some hints from there. Very nice and all to much to chose from. The lunch buffet was nice with a large variety of food. You find some good suff there. I was a little bit disappointed of the dinner buffet. The food was nearly the same as at lunchtime and I even saw some things that were leftovers from lunch. This could have been better. No idea what the a la cart menu is like. 4. Restaurant Omg... here I go down to 2 points. This looks like russian province. Not only the lights are old fashioned, but the carpets are terrible. Big holes that reflect the care they give the place. Big holes, dirty... makes me think about how the kitchen might look like. Not nice at all and pulling down the hotel. The chairs felt to high for the tables. Not nice to sit there for a person of 6'1'' And why do you put plastic sheets on the table on top of the tablecloth? Felt like in a kindergarten/youth hostel. Not very hotel like. 5. Rooms I had a single room on the 5th floor with a nice view and a lot of space. The bed was good to sleep in. The furniture is outdated since the 90th but one can live with it. Flat screen TV with a range of programs and possibility to connect own PC. The door was heavy to lock and hard to open. Had to use my heavy weight to push it outwards. 6. Bathroom Back to the late 80th. Blind people would have hurting eyes from the color of the tiles. And who uses bathtubs today? At least make them easy to get in out. I slipped twice. Not good at all. This needs some upgrade. 7. Facilities The hotel has a pool on the 7th floor and a training area. This is great. Great view on the "HELL" sign on the hill. 14 meteres pool - you even can swim lanes here. The locker rooms have saunas with a nice view to the airport. You get warm while watching planes take off at Værnes. The hotel as most Scandic hotels have to bicycle you can get free of charge. Old fashioned but good bicycles.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It's a large hotel, but never felt really busy. The room was lovely, and was spotless. The restaurant is great, the breakfast buffet was just about the best I've seen. The evening meals were excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Very efficient and nice welcome and check in. The room is clean nice size with a good bed. I got at room in the old part of the hotel, will need some renovation over the next 2-3 years but the room is ok with a great view. On the mirror the housekeeper had written a welcome and drawn a flower. That was nice and you feel "at home". The restaurant has good food and the breakfast is something to look forward to. A huge selection of fresh fruit, a chef making omelettes, scrambled eggs frying sausages and more. They serve both coffee and fresh juice at the table. So make sure you have time to enjoy this perfect start of the day. The pool on the 7th floor is not big both has a great view. Perfect place to relax. All the staff is nice and helpful.

Located just across the road from Trondheim's airport this is a good hotel to stay in pending a flight. The breakfast is great with loads of different choices. Can be a bit expensive, and the rooms are a bit outdated.

I was staying in scandic practically all summer last year. I think I have in excess of 40 hotel nights in Scandic hell alone. Gotta say, for staying that long in an hotel you still managed really well to keep me and my colleagues happy despite being an airport hotel. Breakfast was the best I've had in an hotel, and as a flight crew I've have tried a few. The restaurant menu I've tried every dish half a dozen times, still tastes great. And the reception staff is great, despite having to deal with our always extremely complicated sharing of expenses between flight crew members. Thanks for everything. Walter, former Survey pilot.

Scandic Hell is an airport hotel at Trondheim Lufthavn (Værnes). The hotel is 10 min by foot from the airport’s main building. The hotel also offers a free shuttle service every 15 minutes (daytime). Trondheim city is 30 km away, the airport bus (Flybussen) will take 30 minutes and leave every 10 minutes from the airport. Trains will also take 30 minutes and leave once an hour. Note that the train station “Hell” is in the opposite direction on the other side of the river and the trains to Sweden (Storlien) leave from Hell station and not from “Trondheim Lufthavn”. This station can also be reached in about 10 minutes by foot across the bridge. This hotel is a rather big business style hotel with nice spacious rooms and modern design. There is a sauna and spa on the top floor with lovely view. The best thing about the hotel is the extraordinary breakfast buffet. Like all Scandic hotels in Scandinavia is the breakfast buffet included in the price and they are normally very good. But this one is by far the best buffet I’ve come across in a Scandic hotel. I also tried the restaurant in the evening. Good quality, but way overpriced. Free and fast Wi-Fi. Friendly and helpful staff. There is a big shopping centre next to the hotel.

I've stayed several hotels in every major city in Norway and tried most chain hotels, in addition to independent ones, and Scandic is one of my favourites. The room was really nice, clean and modern. One of my concern was its proximity to the airport and the road. I've stayed in many hotels with what I would call a thin layer of glass letting all the noise through. This is not the case with this hotel. They have sufficient sound proofing and very comfortable beds. The staff here are brilliant. One can tell that the staff are well trained and genuinely seem to enjoy their job. Very polite and efficient service. The best thing however, is the absolutely amazing breakfast buffet. It is by far, THE best hotel breakfast I've ever tried in any country. They have an enormous selection of high quality goods to choose from. Cheeses, freshly cooked dishes, fruits, berries and loads more. I highly recommend you set aside enough to really enjoy the breakfast. I would definitely stay here again if I ever get the chance.
