A very modern hotel. Spacious room and giant lobby area. High quality conference halls. Good acoustics and all necessary technical equipment. Lot of fruit and snacks during the confernece. Excellent food and service during the stay.
An nice and clean hotel by the sea.Good breakfast, and large dinner buffet!Quite close to the city senter onliy 10 minutes walking. The ship cruise it stop right there. It is an very spacios aqualand With 50 m pool in the back of the hotel.
This hotel is right by the sea with great views, especially from the Astrum hotel bar at the very top. The Pirbadet public swimming hall is located next door. The breakfast is nice with plenty of healty alternatives and friendly staff. Room cleaning is good and we've stayed here several times. They don't have carpets in the rooms as far as we know, and beneath the beds it looks clean. You will be fine in this place. On the less positive side: To get to the city you must make 5 minuite cross an open walkway bridge above the railroad area. Can be chilly. The area outside is really deserted at evenings. The hotel windows look cool from the outside but the dots on the windows blocks the great view. The staff at the reception seem a bit too professional, and you will not feel personally welcome. In the evenings it is rather quiet in the lobby area so if your whish to socialize, walk into town. The hotel is large, professionally driven, and hosts conferences at times. It can feel too large at times. They have phone system that makes you punch through some welcome menues - not too personal either. A minor thing: We spent a night there and forgot a few minor things in our room, which they never recovered for some reason. Guess that's an anomaly.
No soap in the bathroom, a lot of "extra hidden costs". 100kr to get room-service brought to your room. 100kr per hour extra for late checkout. Unfriendly staff. Overall a very bad experience for this price-range. Would recommend any other hotel in Trondheim.
We spent a day here for a kick-off. The amenities was generally good, but I did not like the food. A lunch buffet for 500 people does seldom work well. Food was not very impressive. Beer was the most expensive I’ve ever had. A bit disappointed yes, but this place has potential.
The main reason for choosing this hotel was proximity to the harbour - within walking distance from shipping terminal. Check in was easy and efficient in the very impressive lobby. The room was still in great condition and offered nice views of the city and still felt new and fresh. The bar upstairs offered a delightful space to enjoy a drink with great views of Trondheim with a nice, ambient atmosphere. After a good nights sleep, breakfast was good, plenty of choice in pleasant surroundings. Definitely will be first chouce when I’m next in Trondheim.
I stay in this hotel every week and in the beginning I thought it was a bit sterile. I still think this because it’s is quite big, but the people working there are very helpful and service minded. The staff takes good care of regular guests!! The hotel also have the best congress facilities in Trondheim in my opinion!
This is an interesting hotel for a number of reasons. The location is a stone's throw from the railway station - although both are slightly out of the way. It's a huge hotel and upon arrival, one is greeted by a vast hall of a lobby. Check-in was very swift - I didn't need to queue at all. The room was compact but fresh and clean. If I'm honest, it did feel closer to a three-star hotel than a four-star property. The bathroom was in good condition and also kept clean and tidy. In-room wifi seemed to work pretty reliably and although the in-room amenities were rather basic, everything was in working order. The hotel benefits from a number of bars. At the top is a Sky Bar which I visited briefly but was unable to stay long as it was about to close for a private function. On the ground floor, a simpler smaller bar opposite the reception. On my first night, I decided to sample dinner here. The food is good and the pricing is reasonable for Norway. Their burgers are particularly noteworthy and it was a good choice for a decent meal. Returning to the room, I found that there was no troubles getting the room to a suitable temperature for sleeping - and the sleep quality generally was mostly good. The bed, although small, was clean and comfy and the hotel room was very quiet. So with things going so well, the next stage might surprise the reader. Breakfast in the morning is chaos. The layout is buffet style but with long queues for the drinks areas. A range of hot and cold food options are on offer although spread across a number of disparate areas of the restaurant. The food is poor. It's low quality, mass catered junk. The scrambled egg glowed an unhappy deep ocre, the sausages seemed to contain meat of unknown provenance. Really nothing was very nice. Further the restaurant was noisy, the tables weren't cleared quickly enough, there were too few private tables (ie those for 1-2 people). It was a "bun fight" and not an enjoyable start to the day. Upon check-out, there were no problems and the process was as swift and accurate as check-in. Front-of-house is excellent. So whilst there are clearly some problems at the hotel, not all is bad. My two-night stay overall was positive - with good quality accommodations, albeit small, friendly and effective members of staff and some comfortable areas to relax but as mentioned earlier, it does not meet the expectations of a four-star establishment. My travels revealed that there are better places to stay in Trondheim than this hotel and although pricing here is desirable, you can pay a little bit more and stay at places that are a whole lot better.
very good and clean hotel, we travel with a small dog, it was so comfortable that they acepted dogs, the room interior perfect, breakfast was amazing with many options or taste. we will definitely choose this hotel again!
We had to check in after 3 pm although we arrrived at 2pm but rooms are not available . I do not recall the checkin time is mentioned in the booking confirmation . The room was small and noisy and I couldn’t use the soap dispenser cause it was empty almost . I strongly recommend to start using proper guest amenities including dented kit and soap . Shampoo body lotion .. this will make the hotel respond to the standard of 5 or the 4 stars.
