I've been "living" at Clarion Congress due to a project assignment in Trondheim since August (2-3 nights/week) and it has been always a pleasure. Excellent breakfast, amazing training facilities and always a great view. The staff is also outstanding.
Well located near harbour. Can easily take a walk in a safe environment. Nice large clean room. Clean bathroom. Good bed with not too hard mattress. Limited buffet at dinner time but excellent buffet at breakfast.
Good location, excellent food and service. Rooms somewhat small but during a conference they do what they are supposed to do: give you rest and a good night sleep. Proximity to train station is usefull.
I stayed in a standard room for two nights on a business trip. The room was modern and comfortable, but rather small. In fact nearly impractically small. However it's my first stay after 3 visits to Trondheim at 3 different hotels where I actually had a view. The rooms are also fairly dimly lit, but I assume that is to enable having the curtains open and still have minimal view into the room, and I didn't mind much. Excellent breakfast. The architecture and internal design is original and stylish.
Good food during the conference, nice and clean room. Free entry to training facilities is a plus. Nice breakfast with a lot of options. Walking distance to all public transportation, and easy access from airport.
I liked very much the architecture of the place and the efficient services. Great buffet both at breakfast and lunch. The room is not very large but adequate and it is very quit. Excellent meeting rooms. Only one minor flaws: the TV list includes only one international channel (sky news).
We arrived at the hotel at 10:30pm after a 9 hour train journey. I called room service for a sandwich to be told the kitchen closed at 10:00, even though it says clearly on the website that it’s 24 hour room service. Poor show, Clarion Doesn’t love late room service.
Aside from the fact that Trondheim is a beautiful city and Norway is a nice place to be, the accommodation in the Clarion Hotel has been within the very good expectations . Design oriented versus the essential but tastefully furnished and most essential you feel like at home. I've tried both the food from the lounge bar at ground floor and the Astrum skybar at the 9th floor was delicious especially the entrecote of the restaurant: fantastic compliments to the chefs. Looking forward to return to it .
Positioned by the waterside just north of the railway stations, this hotel has excellent accommodation in a quiet, relaxing setting just minutes walk from the city centre. Unique outside ( someone mentioned it is referred to as ' they forgot to take off the wrapping paper"), and comfortably and thoughtfully furnished inside. I had an excellent night's rest and enjoyed a substantial breakfast on the first floor looking out over the fjord. Highly recommended, whether you are in Trondheim for business or pleasure.
I took the train to Trondheim, and walked easily to the Clariion Hotel & Congress Trondheim. When you leave the train station, go over the station bridge toward the water (not the town) and follow the path to the left. I did not notice the station has a bridge and walkway that goes toward the hotel and ferry port -- the main exit goes to the town. My room was fine, and the view very nice. The wet bar is way too expensive. The hotel bar has nice drinks for less. The breakfast is the most amazing that I have ever seen or eaten in all my travels. The location is great. I could walk into the town and around Trondheim easily from this hotel location. The ferry port is near the hotel. The staff are nice and helpful.
