The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa

We had been to the Fairmont several years ago and had a great experience. The spa was wonderful and we enjoyed it immensely. This time we were very disappointed. When we arrived, we were given the option to "upgrade" to a Mission Suite, "honeymoon" quality room, since it was my birthday. So we spent an extra $100 per night, expecting a top quality room. The room was very nice with a fireplace and Jacuzzi tub. However, being a light sleeper, I was woken up each night by the people above us flushing the toilet several times a night, having a coughing fit, and even snoring! Then we tried going to the spa and were told that the spa was an extra $49 fee for each person per day. Can't believe that the "honeymoon" suite wouldn't include the spa. Being that it was late afternoon, we didn't want to pay the extra money for an hour in a heated pool. So we went over to the hotel pool which was a major disappointment. Not heated, no Jacuzzi and the pool bar was closed. I must say that the resort is looking very dated. And for what we spent a night, it did not live up to its reputation. Won't stay there again.

Beautiful linens and curtains. Very classy. Checking was easy.

We were only there for 1 night so did not get to use any of the facilities but the staff was very friendly and welcoming, the room was spotless and well appointed if a little bit small.

All great. The only surprise was that they charge us for a cheese plate during the wine hour which was free at the same time the year before.

Rooms are extremely small and we only received two towels in the bathroom

The room was very small, as was the bathroom. Hardly any space around the bed and very few places to put things in the bathroom. More than necessary room in the closet. The hotel staff were OK, but the feeling that they felt everyone there should be wealthy and snobbish was disappointing. It was like being in a club house but not a member. The restaurant was ridiculous with wine by the glass going for $30 to $60. The lobby was uncomfortably cold.

Staff were friendly. The rooms had lush comfortable bedddings. we didn't want to leave the room.

Beautiful atmosphere, great location and awesome staff.

Very friendley staff! Free shuddle to fun restaurants at night. Excellent service. Comfy beds!

My girlfriend and I love the Sonoma Mission Inn!! We have been a couple of times for a nice weekend out of the city and its always a welcome escape. The staff is friendly, the rooms are nice and comfortable, and it is nicely located. The best part is its reasonably priced!

I loved the old-world feel and ambience of the hotel. It's not cookie-cutter at all. The grounds and lobby are beautiful. Our room was a little small, but very usable. I would return.

staff friendly. nice pool staff friendly. nice wood chairs outside. hotel had car to transport to the Plaza. a few miles away. good restaurants at the plaza.

A short drive from Sacramento to the Mission inn was just what the doctor ordered! In 24 hours we had spa treatments and an incredible meal! The staff was amazing the facility is beautiful! Our visit was short but perfect!

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Property was really nice. Room was great.

This hotel is extremely clean and very nice. The staff was friendly & helpful. When we arrived we were offered an upgrade to a beautiful junior suite for just a few more dollars per night. What a treat! This hotel is not near the Sonoma Square but is a wonderful retreat for a nice long weekend.

We were there fore anniversary and we enjoyed it most, specially the spa and the mineral bath. Kind and helpful staff, clean rooms and great food made it even more pleasant

The hotel has a lot of character, perfect for its location. The staff are friendly and professional, the bed is super comfortable, bathroom is roomy, the food is awesome. Not to mention that they are pet friendly so my little bichpoo was able to come with us. There is nothing I could ask for. I didn't get to try the spa as they were fully booked but will definitely come back to this place. We had a great thanksgiving celebration away from home and it was worth it.

the hotel is beautiful with grounds to match it. my wife and i loved our stay so much that we decided that we will return with the kids one day. so romantic but also family friendly at the same time.

It was a beautiful stay with an amazing staff & amenities !!

Nice setting. Only problem is the rooms adjacent to reception and facing the entrance courtyard. It has a fire pit where people can gather and sip wine but it can be noisy at night and early in the morning you hear the procession of people coming and going from and to the spa. Otherwise it is beautiful.
