To share the outlook with the cathedral takes no great planning, just booking. Its cosy, clean and efficiently organised for its main purpose to sleep off the excesses of this remarkable village and the gateway to battle fields strewn around Amiens. left the vehicle at a nearby garage which the hotel arranged for me.
stayed at the mercure hotel in amiens france .. would not stay there again the entertainment on the tv was rubbish all the good programs dubbed to french only news in english and all repeated and when i asked the receptionist WHY no answer and NO FREE PARKING.. hotel not recommended ..unless you can understand french
Overall a very nice hotel. The reception staff were very helpful on arrival. The room was very comfortable but it had a strange saloon glass doors to the bathroom. Breakfast was very good but the seating arrangement confused many guests. What I mean is the low comfortable chairs which would be fine for a coffee but not breakfast. The hotel is within sight of the cathedral and an easy walk to restaurants. Overall very good.
Fantastic location in the centre of Amiens overlooking the cathedral with plenty of cars and restaurants nearby Smart, clean rooms; albeit a little small (especially bathrooms) Really helpful staff Lovely breakfast buffet
We stopped in Amiens rather than Paris to have a stay the night before we took our flight back from CDG. The hotel is well indicated so we followed the road signs and it is directly in front of the Cathedral. The room was comfortable and the sofa bed was made up for our teenager. It was clean and well supplied with tea and coffee. We overslept and didn't get breakfast. The Receptionist informed us of the Chroma show which is an audio and light show on the Catherdral's architecture which takes place all summer. It was wonderful and we could just walk a few metres to watch this great show. The only thing is we wanted a late dinner and the restaurant closes early on Sundays and it was not easy to find a restaurant nearby that was open on a Sunday at 9pm. There's street parking nearby but no hotel parking.
I stayed in this hotel in April 2017 and it was the second time I have stayed there. It is a good example of a standard chain hotel and lived up to my expectations. Like some other reviewers I was a little taken aback by the new reception area but it worked well and the staff were attentive and helpful. Location is great both to the interesting parts of Amiens and to TGW battlefields it that is the purpose of your visit. A hint for the parking, if you are staying for more than a few days you can get a multi day parking pass at the parking station office.
We stayed here with our bus tour. So check in and out was looked after but our guide. Rooms were modern but at one time it was a smoking hotel. There were burn marks on the night table and arms of the chair. The room had a small balcony from which we could see the Cathedral light show at night. Bed was hard and pillows flat. Good bathroom with separate WC. They had a very nice breakfast buffet in the morning. We were close enough to walk to the restaurants on the Somme Canal plus some great pubs near the cathedral. Our stay was comfortable and we would stay again.
We chose this hotel as a stopover on the way home from holiday. Good location, clean and comfortable rooms. View of the cathedral from the bar. Nice bar and restaurant with good service. No problems at all. No parking at the hotel but Saint Leu parking is round the corner and safe and inexpensive.
This hotel is in an excellent location - just across from the cathedral with lots of bars and restaurants within a 2min walk. The lobby is large and airy and there is a pleasant bar area. The rooms are spacious, although the bed was quite hard. Everything is clean and fresh, but the style of the decor is dated (personal preference though!) The bathrooms are modern. We ate in the restaurant and, although the service wasn't quick, the food was delicious. There was a good choice for breakfast, which is served in the dining room - very comfortable. Parking was €7 for 24hrs a 2min walk away - but you can easily unload right outside the hotel entrance first. We would definitely stay here again.
Stayed overnight with daughter and her two children en route to La Rochelle.. the rooms were clean and tidy..good wifi easy to access and excellent food in the restaurant...good service at reception on arrival and leaving. Nice breakfast with good choices and fresh hot food as well as good cold options. We were told by the man on reception about the cathedral light show at 10 pm which was helpful as think we would have missed it otherwise..the light show was superb and not to be missed if you get the chance and it's still on. We would stay again...
