Suddenly they came up 3 star rating in term of status. Too many mosquitoes in room . No response after many reminders . Room service also very late . Now many option are available in sohar .I am regular visitor but need to change as per last visit and their treatment.
We took a once night stopover here on way back to Muscat from Musandam. It is modern, spotlessly clean and very reasonably priced. Service is friendly and efficient. Standard rooms are a little on the small side for a family, but there's plenty to do with large and shaded pool area, games room (snooker/pool/table tennis) bowling alley, tennis courts and gym. Location is a little out there and not convenient for the town, but quiet and handy if you're driving through Sohar and want a stop off. We'd return just to make the most of the hotel facilities. Food was great, breakfast sumptuous.
Me and my friend, checked in last December 2017 in this 5 star hotel. The service is awesome, amneties, and of course the room. So many activities you can indulge if you stay in this hotel like you can have your work-out in the gym, play lawn tennis, bowling, swimming in there nice pool and etc...My experienced in this hotel is absolutely incredible.
The room we stayed in was reasonably quiet although the sports bar has music there. We did have a buffet dinner which was ordinary and unfortunately the steakhouse restaurant was not open the day we stayed. They have a great pool area and nice gardens. Our room was at the front of the hotel and we did get some traffic noise from the main road but it was tolerable.
I was traveling with family to Khasab and decided to make a stop over in Sohar. The hotel is modern, very clean. The staff was very polite and always smiling The restaurant manager was of great help and very professional. He was from Bangladesh (sorry forgot the name). Hats off to him for his service Tennis court was great, also they borrow you the tennis rackets and tennis balls. Swimming pool was temperature controlled
The hotel is tucked away from the busy main roads and beach. It is very quiet and pleasant during the day. The hotel staff has been very accomedating throughout the entirety of my stay. The gym facility is very nice for a hotel. Their spa and maseusses are fantastic as well. One thing I would like to call out specifically about this hotel is there omelette chef, Netiss. I stay at a lot of hotels while out on business and breakfast is one of my favorite meals. This gentleman's omelettes are the best I've had in 4 countries. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through this area and looking to truely relax.
Poor food with little choice if you can find any. Extremely noisy in rooms at night due to music from the bar. Windows have gaps around the sides so when the staff go around during the night with motor driven pumps and blowers there is no opportunity to sleep. Duty manager (when I was there) was completely incapable of telling the truth. General manager only arrives at the hotel at 9AM after most guests have already left so knows nothing of what is going on. In room info book claims they have quiet rooms which implies they know some are untenable. Why do they put guests into noisy rooms when the hotel is virtually empty?
Beautiful hotel in Sohar.. ( a friend had her birthday party at the hotel) the hotel did a fantastic job of coordinating with her for the party. So happy we stayed the night. We enjoyed the pool the following day. Absolutely would recommend the hotel.
I stayed at the Crown Plaza for two nights and was impressed with its rooms and restaurant. The food was good for the cost but could have had a bit more choice. I also then found the sports bar, great night.
We spent two nights with my family and we booked two interconnected units of two bedrooms. The rooms where clean and well equipped with all necessities. Size of room and toilets are wihin acceptable ranges. The breakfast was good but no much varieties since same menu was repeated during our two nights stay. However. I was very happy with the hospitality of the staff at the restaurant during our breakfast time. Special thanks goes to Mr Kamrul Hassan (Restaurant Manager from Bangladesh). He really served us eventhough he is the restaurant manager. I give him a big A grade for his humbleness, great guy. Place is quiet and you can enjoy a good walk outside the hotel at night. You can also enjoy a bowling facilities at the basement level. I had two games with my family at 5 Ro per half an hour. To be honest, I did not like the 1/2 hr rule since you will never finish the one single game on time. I would recommend that the game booking should be charged 5 Ro per one game instead of expiring within 1/2 hr. In both 2 games we enjoyed playing, we never finished one game bcz of time limitation. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and I recommend this place for family as well couples.
