Hotel was lovely, very clean and tidy. The Hotel was about 20-25 mins from airport and cost 8 lev (£4.00) to transfer. Taxis only hold 4 people, they don't have anything bigger. We were a party of 5 so we had to get two taxis. The hotel offer a breakfast which was very nice. Toast, beans, scrambled eggs, jams, cheese, sausage and bacon. Fresh coffee /tea and orange /apple juice. Room was immaculate , lovely spacious bathroom. View from the Hotel wasn't great but this didn't affect us. A few shops and a garage nearby if you need to nip out and buy snack/drinks but everything closes very early nearby. Nice bar in hotel, reasonably priced. They had a gym but we never went to it.
If you're travelling to Sofia, and if you have business on the city itself or wish to be close to centre and avoid the congestion of downtown, lack of parking or traffic jams - Hotel Vega is your choice. It's located along the Boulevard of Dr. Dimitrov which is linking you to the main motorway passing through Sofia so you have good connection towards Plovdiv or outside of Sofia, wherever it may be. The Mall of Sofia is nearby so shopping is an option whereas there are 10-12 fine restaurants near by, not counting the Lobby bar of the hotel. If flying into Sofia, the hotel is not too far, depending on time of day some 20 minutes to half an hour drive. Hotel provides a shuttle to airport and other major locations. Parking is secure and available both in the hotel elevator garage, or in front of the hotel (open parking), free of charge. The rooms are solid size, with spotless freshly washed, clean linen and solid pillows. Bathroom is clean and marble-covered so careful with those steps after the shower! Toiletries and towels are provided in the bathroom as well. The bath and the whole bathroom are clean - no black spots from humidity, no stains or cigarette marks - a big plus in my book! There is a flat screen TV with some 30 or so channels, 5-6 international and a small fridge with the usual refreshment and snacks. WiFi is excellent (I was on 4th floor) and I didn't have to walk around the room like an Indian shaman to "attract" the signal - like all of us business travellers are forced to do in many hotels. WiFi in the breakfast restaurant and lobby bar is also excellent. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty, with good espresso and ice cold spring water. The pricing is quite affordable (around 80 EUR), the staff is polite and speaking solid English. I am not highly demanding and insist on clean rooms, great WiFi, secure parking and good breakfast. This hotel has it all and I will gladly recommend it to all business travellers!
The rooms are clean, the bed comfortable. Lot of space in the room and not far from city centre. Gym got everything it deserves. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast was good, lot of selection, freshly squeezed orange juice and a great coffee Definitely worth the money
Clean and nice hotel with lovely free breakfast. We have beautiful views of the mountain! Had a good night sleep in the cosy bed! There is a traditional Bulgarian cuisine in the restaurant in the hotel too. Good stay!
The hotel are good, I found there everything what I needed, even coffee, tea and water was for free. I liked the view from window and the bathroom, but it was so HOT in the room that I can't to sleep!!! The conditioner did't work and I needed to sleep with open window but the hotel are near the street so it was very loud, next time I would choose another hotel...
The hotel is great. We stayed there for 2 nights and everything was great. It's near to most of the universities and there is a metro station nearby. It has great soundproof even though it's in front of a big conjunction. The breakfast had a variety.
This hotel is situated near Studentski grad which is notorious with its night life. On the other hand the hotel is just next to the main road, the zoo and the ringroad which makes it a good place if you want to travel out of the city but still breathe in and mix with the city life. It has a nice fitness centre and offers good breakfast.
I was here with my friends and the stay was great. We were there for two nights for New year. Location of the hotel is little outside the city centre but surrounded with metro and bus stations. The room was great. Room was big and comfortable. It had all you need to have a pleasant stay. Big beds that were very comfortable, mini-bar, safe (dont have to pay to use it), couch, table, tv, air conditioning, free wifi, great view on the main street in front of the hotel and big bathroom in which everything was new and great, with many towels and little bottles of soaps(shampoos). When we came to the hotel we got welcome drink and in our room we had coffe, tea and bottle of water. There are many stores, bars etc. few minutes walking from the hotel. Neigbourhood is safe and has everything you need. Breakfast was great. It had all kinds of salamis, spreads, toasted bread, cheese, tea, juice, coffe, croissants etc. The employees were helpful and kind. We loved our stay there and would return.
It was my 2nd time here, after some years. Nothing has changed ! It remains a classy hotel pretty close to the spot where many students are spending the free time. So, if you do not like stilish and classy restaurant in hotel you can find variate good food in students area, some nice bars with smoking terrace and a lot of fun arround. Will be back !
Good location, elegant hotel. Easy to approach. High quality free internet, big, comfortable rooms. What I can't understand the combination of luxury, good quality furniture, faience and hone with cheap and low quality door in the bathroom , etc.
- Free WiFi in rooms and public areas
- Free valet and self parking
- Onsite dining
