Another trip for work took me to Sofia and I decided to try out the Holiday Inn as I like to have a gym in my hotel. I was not disappointed. The bedroom was of a very high standard, very clean and well appointed. The restaurant served a delicious and very good value dinner and the breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The bar had an excellent selection of drinks and the staff were incredibly friendly. The gym was one of the best I have found in a hotel with the pool being a proper length to have a decent swim. There was also the added benefit of the sauna and steam room. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Hotel is really nice but a little bit far away from the center. I can consider it as a business hotel and not a hotel for tourists. The main lobby is very big and spacious and the breakfast is high quality. Rooms are standard, clean and with nice furniture. The hotel price is really high for a hotel which is 12 kilometers from the center but you have included the parking, Gym and swimming pul with sauna and hammam.

With its contemporary design, excellent spa and wellness facilities, convenient location for business and leisure travelers alike, the Holiday Inn Sofia fails to disappoint any traveler. The service you get starts from the excellent looking front desk and continues all the way towards the room. Free amenities and extras, such as Dental & Sewing kits are provided on demand, 24/7, a rarity these days in Bulgaria. Another huge bonus of the hotel is its extensive breakfast buffet, perfect for starting the day, which has, in recent times, become a rarity for Bulgaria. Overall, while there could be some minor upgrades, such as the providing of free water bottles, as has become common throughout most of the world, I give this hotel a steady 5 stars and hope to visit again soon!

We had a lovely and cosy stay, the hotel is close to the subway of Sofia and located in a nice environment (a business park with lots of cafeterias, cinema and a pond). It was good to both have all these minutes away from the hotel and to enjoy its warmth and the friendly staff.

I had the displeasure to stay at this hotel over Christmas, really they should have closed down because they clearly not welcoming paying guest. There is no management at all on duty which brings into question the hotels security and safety of paying guest, yes all management want Christmas off but I am afraid this business does not allow that, I am disgusted that any hotel under the IHG banner operates in this manner. I appreciate the hotel being on skeleton staff but if you are accepting guest you need to have competent staff on duty and also a chef would be a good idea..... I have stayed here previously it’s never been great but it’s clean and comfortable and happens to be in a area I need to visit occasionally, it’s a totally mismanaged hotel and you should do your best to stay elsewhere if at all possible

Would recommend. Service was great. Had a problem with Wi-Fi but it was sorted out straight away. Room was clean and staff were kind and helpful. The hotel was really nice. Hope to be back here again soon.

this was a good location for me as I needed to be in the business park next doors. I got there by taxi, there is also on site parking available. Staff was not overly friendly, apart from the luggage service they were friendly. Check in was simple I was not made feel welcome. The room was extremely basic, as was the rest of the hotel, it felt much like a budget hotel. Room was not uncomfortable and sleeping quality good. I liked I could open the window. Breakfast had plenty of options but I missed any local delicacies, there was just international breakfast. It would have been very nice to see some items from the local bakery rather than croissants and other very unBulgarian foods. Staff at breakfast was very friendly. I also had dinner once, it wasn't special but it was okay, I liked there were plenty veggie options. I wouldn't like to come back here, but may have to as it is the only hotel so close to the business park where I need to be for work.

Stayed here since the nearest hotel to my workplace was booked full. But at the end of 4 nights, I was not complaining. My only complaint was the speed of WiFi, which was promptly fixed to way above my expectation after I had lodged a formal protest. It is next to the largest office complex (that is what I am told by my Bulgarian colleagues). So, the location was never an issue. Choice of food is good, if you want to pick something from outdoor, but I preferred not to step out of the room. There was little scope of improvement in room service, since they used to regularly forget one of the cutlery/side dishes. They were also kind enough to pack a breakfast while I was checking out early.

I stayed in this hotel in December. The room was pretty large, clean and warm. The hotel is located in the business area of the city and has fast access to the city center by subway (5 minutes walking distance from the hotel).

Driving through Europe, after a 10 hour stint down the length of Serbia I was needing good food and a solid bed, The green light of the holiday Inn sign which I could see from the highway made me pull over right away, I am always sure if in need of a good nights sleep Holiday Inn will be consistent. The Sofia Holiday inn went above all my expectations. The staff on the desk are extremely helpful and friendly, going out of there way to help me print my visas for the Turkish border. The food was fantastic, going down well with cold beer served by smiling staff. Breakfast was to a higher standard than I would have expected from a chain hotel again with happy smiling staff. My room was large, very clean with all the extras you would expect. Full mini bar, large tv & an enormous bed. What made my night was the deep, long bat. Perfect for after a long drive. Overall this Holiday Inn is the best I have seen, not only the perfect stop but delivering luxury at a regular holiday inn rate. Thank you very much for my much needed rest.
