The hotel room was larger than average for a business hotel of this level, with nice decor and very comfortable linens/mattress. Wifi was easy and fast enough to watch a video when I needed to view it for work. It was a very pretty room and extremely clean. I enjoyed the gym, and it was large enough to have several people in there at the same time without feeling crowded. They did have music videos playing on the TV the whole time, which was kind of distracting ... but no big deal. However, the gym had no obvious way of cleaning the folding workout mats, so I wasn't sure how long it had been since they were last washed. My only complaint. I didn't use the pool, but the others in my group said it was very nice. It was also great that we were able to, at the last minute, suddenly show up with a large group for a last-minute dinner, and they got it organized very quickly. And, I should say, the breakfast buffet was quite nice, with a variety of healthy options as well as the usual luxuries. The shower and tub being separate was a nice touch, though the shower did consistently leak onto the bathroom floor. I felt very secure in the hotel. The location is a little odd. It's in a business park but this completely shuts down in the evening, so there isn't much to see (or eat) in the evenings. To get downtown, you have to walk (at least 10 minutes) to an underground train station, or take taxis around. This was manageable for our business group but I think would be difficult for sight-seeing.
Spa is one of best part of the hotel , hotel staff is professional, rooms clean and spacious. I would recommend this place. Is little expensive but is 5* hotel so I don’t expect to be cheap. Hotel is far from Center but very close is metro. I would Not advise to come in to Sofia, as locals are treating tourists / foreigners like they never saw people with money, every where they try to steal, I was at bar they charged me twice, taxi from center to hotel 40 euros when should be 5, and best was in one place they put mandatory tip on the bill. I’m suppose to be here 5 days but after 3 I want to leave. I feel like I’m here stupid who everyone want to use. I will never come back here. Almost every place service is horrible.
Stayed for two nights. Excellent efficient service - highly professional. I was aware of the location - I didn't want to be in the city centre but the metro was a 5 minute walk away for getting around. Good facilities although I thought the breakfast was a little expensive. However, the staff more than made up with it with their charm. I want to mention specifically Kiril the Bell Boy - who was so informative and helpful - it's really worthwhile investing a little time with this guy if you "want to know stuff."
The hotel was very clean and very welcoming. The room was very clean and nicely fitted out. Little things like irons already in rooms, sockets beside you bed... making charging your phone easier. Only thing missing for the type of shower - was shower cap. Food was nice and staff were friendly and helpful.
Great facilities (Gym, Swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room). Excellent food and wine quality. Amazing breakfast especially made on demand omelets. Cleanliness. Family friendly. Safe free parking. Polite and friendly staff.
We was welcomed by 2 people at the front desk, Alexander and Anastasia. The smiles alone was very welcoming, they have us maps for the best restaurants and site seeing. The rooms was very cosy and lovely bathroom. We had dinner in the restaurant and the staff was so attentive. I had a tomato soup, which was such a massive portion, very rich, my friend ordered the salmon and the presentation was amazing. We had a massage at the spa and that was fantastic. Well worth, the money. Our cab was ordered and came on time to get us to the airport. No more than 15 Bulgaria currency. Overall, a fantastic stay.
Booked a two night break before travelling to ski resort. We have been to Sofia several times and knew this was a little out of the way, and worried at first, but I wouldn't let that put you off! Hotel is smart and clean. Rooms are spacious (plenty of space for our vast luggage inc skis and boots) and bathroom facilities very good with nice toiletries. Good secure parking. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. Excellent choice of menu in restaurant, although it was a little quiet. Taxi to centre of town very cheap at quiet times i.e. Evening - circa £5 Very nice cafes within the business park where the hotel is situated.
I stayed here for a week in Feb2018. Price per night was excellent with free breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel. Actually, I'm supposed to be back in Sofia soon and I hope they have an available room for me that time. I enjoyed eating at hotel restaurant as well. Every TUE, they have all Bulgarian buffet. Excellent food.
The hotel is nice- clean rooms, nice lobby and restaurant, comfortable night. The location is good, the metro isn't far and there are some restaurants just outside. I would say that it is an above average holiday inn. But what really made me happy with my stay was the staff. Some of them went out of their way to help me with my nightmare of a trip, specifically Ani, Iliana, and Petya: My first flight out of Sofia got cancelled, and I came back to the hotel. I was attempting to contact the airline to get my refund, but could not connect. Ani offered to call the Bulgarian number using her own cell phone for me, which was very kind. Next, my new flight out of Sofia got cancelled, again. At the Sofia airport already, I booked yet another flight, however I was required to print the boarding passes on my own and the airline would not help me. I called the holiday inn hoping that they could help me and I would go back there, and Petya happily printed my new boarding passes and had them waiting for me in a plastic protector. That was very nice, especially being that I had checked out the day before. And finally, when we had lunch at the restaurant before attempting to leave the city for the 3rd time, Iliana was very nice and friendly with us. She gave us recommendations on how to get to our new airport of departure, and more advice for our next trip to Bulgaria. It was small kindness that made our terrible trip a little better. Management, please recognize these employees. I would definitely come back to this hotel next time!
The hotel was difficult to reach as you have to find the correct turn off from some freeways. Check-in was smooth and easy. The reception area is pleasant in it’s design. The staff were friendly, however they could have been more forthcoming in offering help. For example, I turned up with far too much luggage (I am moving country!) and I had to ask for assistance with my multiple bags, rather than being offered- although there were no other guests in the lobby at the time so there were no apparent other tasks needing attention. The hotel room (I had a standard room with double bed on the 4th floor) was reasonably clean and well-maintained. I could see slight scuff marks and dirty corners but otherwise pretty it was pretty alright. Shame there was no robe or slippers. The carpet flooring has a lot of hair on it, there were stains on the curtains. The mini bar selection is small and regularly overpriced, and it seems that a lot of the contents that were listed to be there, were not. I spoke to the reception about this, and they crossed off some items that were not supposed to be there, however there were still several missing after I asked for it to be stocked. It would have been really nice if the complimentary tea selection included more than just black tea, something non-caffeinated for those of us travelling. I had understood that the wifi was complimentary, as specifically told in my email communication to the hotel, however when logging in, price options are offered. The internet rates vary but it is quite overpriced. At the time of writing this review, 24 hours was 22leva. I spoke with reception about this, and they said it is an error and that the internet IS free. There was shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap in the bathroom, however no moisturiser- which is something I expect for a hotel catering to international travellers (aeroplanes- dry skin!) For a hotel, the fitness centre/gym is well-equipped. The pool, jacuzzi, sauna area is goo, but the steam room smelled so badly that I didn’t use it. I paid for one night, and additionally to be able to check out at 6pm the next day. The rate I was confirmed in the email was approximate 35leva less than was charged to my credit card when I checked in to the hotel. I spoke to reception about this and they said it is a “deposit” and that on check-out the correct amount is charged. To me this seems silly to-and-fro of funds. The hotel is nice and quiet and warm. Beware that because the power turns off when you remove your key card, your devices will not charge if you leave them while you are out! By no other country’s standards would this be 5 star, but I suppose it would have to be one of the better hotels in Bulgaria..?!
