The staff are so courteous. I felt I was in my own home. The concierge helped me with all the details I needed for the neighbourhood. The rooms are well maintained and sleep quality is great. I had a corner room 603 which was great. The breakfast is a wonderful spread and the bar is great!!!!
Good hotel, friendly staff. Very clean breakfast not good and over price go McDonald's instead across road.but staff and clean hotel. Nice bed and also pool staff can be rude need a bigger pool maybe outdoor pool.
Great hospitality and service. My Hilton number was not on my reservation and they tried to sell me the breakfast buffet. When I had them add my Hilton number they found my account and told me that breakfast was included with my gold status. They also upgraded my room. My room had a fantastic view of a city. It was clean and standard size for a European hotel. The bars and outside patio was a nice set up. We sat outside and got wonderful service and we sat inside and had a great experience with the bartender and other staff. Only downside was breakfast in the executive lounge. There was no one monitoring the area at 9am when I went. There was very little food left and few choices. This was all outweighed by the exceptional customer service we received by the entire staff. Great job Hilton Sofia
Close to the city center, next to the metro station. The Vitosha Boulevard is a few minutes' walk away. Easy access by metro from the airport. From the upper floors of the south side a nice view of the Vitosha massif. The apartment is spacious with a comfortable bed. Check in and check out was fast. Breakfasts average, with limited choice of cold cut and cheese.
This time I was very disappointed with hhonors price warranty policy as I book the room from hhonors app fully prepaid it about 2 weeks before and after a few days it was like 30% cheaper. Hhonors only refund for a price change within 24 hours. The room offered a very comfortable bed as expected from hilton. The executive lounge was bellow any expectations with the doors widely open to everyone and no control at all of whom comes in and a very poor selection in the evening and a policy of no alcoholic beverages except wine after 20:30. In the morning while having breakfast about half an hour the only employee that came in just made herself a cup of coffee in the plastic glass she brought and left. So no service at all. At check-out I was offered local currency for my deposit paid in euro as they spent it!!! Overall disapointed with service qualty and hope they will change it.
Have stopped in many better Hiltons. The Exec lounge was austere at best. Rooms very bland. Position was OK. Would look for a better hotel next time I am in Sofia. The only benefit was that it was a low price! Showing you get what you pay for!
Having been there 3 times over the past 2 months, I am just as impressed on the subsequent stays as I was the first time. The Good: The hotel is in a great location on the city fringe, walking distance to the downtown centre. Sofia is a lovely place. Right next door to the hotel is a massive park which is great if you want to get outside amongst the trees. The greeting at reception, each time, was very efficient and somewhat friendly. Bulgarians are great people, but they don't always come across as friendly, but they are, it's just their demeanour. On the third visit I was recognised as a return guest which is always nice to feel wanted, LOL. The lobby is a massive open-air atrium style and is very impressive when you first walk in. You can see the glass lifts going up and down the floors. The rooms are light and spacious. Decor is light wood and light colours. The blackout curtains are magnificent. Each time I was lucky to have a view overlooking the park and a mountain in the distance. The beds are quite comfortable with white linens. Comfort-o-meter 7/10. They provided 4 firm pillows on the bed. The room had a sofa as well. There were 2 flat screen TV's in my rooms offering an array of channels, especially English speaking for me. Great air-conditiong too individually controlled the way you like it. Which you really need inside on a warm day outside. ( Controls not set to a one size fits all, my number 1 hate in any hotel, usually in Europe, drives me crazy ! ) The bathroom was average size but more than adequate. Great water pressure in the shower and a bath if you want that too. Loads of towels and plenty of toiletries available. White tiles and a modern feel. The room came with a mini-bar ( I don't touch mini-bars ) along with a bar-fridge and had a safe as well. A good selection of teas and coffee and a kettle to boil water. There was ample closet space for 2 people. Wi-fi speed was sensational, not only in the room but in all the public areas and it was free for Hilton Honours members. As a Diamond member, I got Premium and I was very impressed. Room service is very good and very impressive. The quality of the food was first class and it's all very reasonably priced. I would recommend highly if you don't feel like eating at the restaurant or going out. The Executive Lounge on Level 1 was a bit 'hit and miss' to be honest. The good side was the breakfast in the mornings and the evening Happy Hour. A great selection of beers and liquors and wines and a good selection of food to nibble on. A couple of days there were some local delicacies that only a Bulgarian could love ! The Not So Good: The Executive Lounge lacked any type of atmosphere. It was very sterile and not conducive to being a lounge. The seating was inadequate on a busy day. And there is never any staff there. Someone seemed to drop by every hour or so, same at breakfast. But I am being very critical I guess. The other thing that intrigued me was there was never any staff in the Lounge asking for the guests room numbers to ensure they were allowed in to the EL. ( That's a business issue from my point of view ). So any one could just wonder on in and help themselves which I am sure was the case on a couple of occasions while I was there. They need to re-configure the layout, add a few more sofas, a few lamps and maybe a little bit of background music instead of those hideously large TV's showing the news. It feels like a Subway or McDonalds style restaurant at the moment. It would be very easy to transform the lounge with hardly any expense. Summary: I really like The Hilton Sofia. It's in a great location, overlooking a great park and walking distance to the city centre, the rooms are large and fresh and airy and light, the facilities are very good and the staff are efficient. I live in Hilton's most of the year and whilst this is not the best by any stretch, it lived up to Hilton standards and expectations and was very good value. Would I stay again: I am. Would I recommend: Yes. Highly.
I had to stay one night in Sofia before a flight that i had to catch the following day, so I chose that hotel to be Hilton. Yeah big mistake. So when i was checking in the girl at the reception told me that she needs to stop money from my credit card just in case and the money will be return immediately the next day. However that was on the 26th of May. Today is the the 10th of June and the 50 euro that she stopped are still not return to my credit card. I did call the hotel myself just few days after my stay to clarify when this amount will be return to my credit card and i was put through the financial department. Another completely careless employee told me that it will take up to 10 working days and she got my e-mail address, as she offered to send me conformation about the return that i can present to my bank if i have to. I don't know why i should be chasing my bank as they never got any money away from me. She was so careless that she never confirmed the e-mail address i had given and i obviously never received one, also did not care a lot about the refund just wanted to get rid of me, as i wasn't good enough for her or the amount was too low. I don't care if it is 5 euro, 50 or 500 euro. I would like to take my money back as i didn't use anything and my room was fully paid in advance. This is Hilton hotel not a hostel and they should keep their reputation as a well known hotel, not a hotel that is robbing the guest. I can not express how disappointed i am with the services and i will make sure that every person i know and wants to stay at Hilton Sofia will be told this story and say it to the their friends and try and avoid it. This is not how people should be treated. Just horrible hotel
The standard hotel chain Hilton. Large, clean rooms, but a little bit tired. Located in the city center. Near the hotel is a large park and the central boulevard of the city. Where is a large number of shops and cafes. Good staff. Breakfast was good but breakfast boxes were poor and no include liquid.
Checked in on Tues 6th June . Seasons restaurant closed in the evening due to a conference dinner . Cannot comment on weds 7th June due to late return from Varna . Thursday 8th June restaurant closed for dinner again due to a different conference . Redirected to bar . Food will have long delay due , you guessed it , to a large conference group , the kitchen preparing their dinner . Suggestion was walk into the middle of Sofia with imminent threat of rain . Solution Mc D 's across the road . Can recommend their cheese burgers . At the very least the hotel should advertise on its web site that it's only restaurant is frequently closed so independent business travellers can make other arrangements . Obvious that the hotels main source of revenue is conferences with no thought to its business clientele . Easy solution find a different hotel next time . Having travelled frequently on business for 40 years my first negative hotel review . Says it all really .
