I stayed at Arena di Serdia for 1 week in January and it was an excellent experience -- from the friendliness / helpfulness of the staff, to the clean and comfortable hotel rooms. I would definitely recommend the hotel to friends / colleagues traveling to Sofia.
Arena di Serdica is a modern, clean and correct hotel. Location is very good: close to the city center and on a quiet street. Spacious and clean room having 2 (yes, two) bathrooms. Restaurant at ground floor has only few options in the menu for the dinner but it is generous at the breakfast. Been there 4 times already, but room prices offered varies quite serious, which annoys me.
We’ve stayed here for few nights. The room was spacious and clean with a lovely view of the city’s post communist architecture and the mountains in the background. There are Roman ruins right in the hotel lobby and you can walk around them and have a closer look. We only had lunch in the restaurant once but it was gorgeous. Breakfast was amazing, broad choice of breads, pastries, fruits and vegetables, meat and cheese. Wi-fi was very fast. We’ve used the spa few times too, slightly too dark but massage and sauna makes up for it!
Nice hotel in the center of Sofia. Good breakfast.Very nice rooms, big with two bathrooms.Very nice welcome.i staid 3 days.No good cleaning service. They forgot to change my seets. When i inform them they appologise for that.
Arena di Serdica is a beautiful classic-style hotel. It has an amazingly calm atmosphere about the whole place. A real retreat from the buzz of the outside city. The fact it also have some ancient roman ruins inside is simply staggering. Nothing like it anywhere else. The only negative was the AC wasn't working in the 3 rooms we had booked.
I book many time during this year this hotel. Very confortable and. People always avaible and with a large smile. The hotel is located in a small calm street, but really few steps from the center of the city, so it's possible to enjoy the city life, but you are preseverd from the city noise.
Since I last visited the hotel, all of the bedrooms have been refurbished and it has made such a difference to the rooms. I have stayed at this hotel close to a dozen times over the last 2 years and I always enjoy my stays. Location is ideal for walking to one of the main business districts and shops. The hotel spa is well worth a visit - located in the Roman ruins beneath the hotel. The breakfasts are good with plenty of variety. The staff as always are very friendly and helpful.
Arena di Serdica is a classic-style hotel: it has a quiet atmosphere, an antique design, and some ancient roman ruins embedded in the basement (the name "Arena" should come from this, I suppose). The location is central, the rooms have large windows and are clean. The bathrooms are quite spacious and have all the accessories needed. The breakfast is the usual continental one. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here!
In order to have a twin room you need to book an executive room, this also gives you free access to the spa. The rooms were nice but on the Saturday evening music from a local club kept me awake until the early hours. The check in process was not great, we were unable to access our room until 3.00 pm. Check in is at 2.00 pm. Those with a double room get superking bed with a double duvet so make sure you ask for an extra duvet. Breakfast was very good and varied. Great products in the room.
