Steps to Downtown, Parks, and it's Dog-friendly!

About this space
Offered by sisters Rebecca and Marilyn, Jewell’s is a charming two-bedroom cottage completely renovated in 2020. Decorated with a nod to its Texas roots, it has an eclectic vibe. It provides all the essentials including high-speed internet, one covered parking space (plus two uncovered), and a well-appointed kitchen. You will find many non-essential items are included which will add to your enjoyment of the Cottage.

The two bedrooms are roomy and comfortable (the master bedroom has a Tempurpedic mattress). Located one block from downtown (shopping and restaurants) and 5 local parks including Veterans Park (splashpads), Bark Park, and Skate Park (bring your board). It is just 45 minutes from Austin, and an easy drive to other, Hill Texas communities including Round Top, La Grange, Bastrop and Buescher State Parks.

Our favorite spaces are the eat-in kitchen with its welcoming family-style dining island; the detached deck in the fenced-in back yard that invites you to relax and lounge, with or without a canine friend; and a covered front porch with two rocking chairs as well as a picnic table and benches, ideal for enjoying a conversation or choosing to have a private moment, book in hand and wine glass at the ready while enjoying a lovely sunset.

Downtown is only two blocks away and you can easily walk, enjoying our small-town ambiance with all it has to offer.

Other things to note
Smithville is a lovely place to visit with the intention of relaxing and enjoying the sorts of activities one might expect to find in a small town. Check out the SmithvilIe Chamber of Commerce website and, if you want to explore a little further afield, the "Explore Bastrop County" magazine and the associated website are excellent resources for other nearby possibilities. Smithville is convenient to numerous Hill Country festivals as well as the Circuit of the Americas with all their exciting events, not to mention all the entertainment available in Austin.

Do keep in mind that if you are looking for a comfy location with room for a gathering of family and friends, Ruby's Foxcroft Cottage (listed separately) is located right next door. The two cottages together provide an excellent combination of space and amenities, just coordinate the two calendars. If you'd like any help with doing this, message the hosts. We'd be happy to help.
The vacation home is air-conditioned and features a kitchen and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 2 bedrooms. Guests can enjoy a TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a coffee maker, and an ironing board. Change of towels is available on request.

This property is convenient to the area attractions, but the serenity of the massive back yard will draw you in to want to hang there and soak up the sun with your family and or friends. You have the option of catching the breeze in the lovely rockers on the deck of the “She Shed”, or you can have your young ones chase bubbles, hula hoop, or play croquet (bring your own) and have endless fun. Hosts are supremely pleasant and accommodating. The chef’s kiss happens to be the provision of some of the best sourdough brown butter treats ever! There’s an assortment of snacks and beverages, breakfast packs and egg bites, coffee, and tea, and I wanted for nothing while I was there. The bedding is quite comfortable, and the decor is chic and appealing. A definite must!

One of the most wonderful experiences I have ever had. The house was comfortable and included extra unexpected surprises such as delicious muffins and scones from a local bakery. Sitting and rocking on the front porch in the mornings was a delight. I will recommend this place to others.

Sweet home away from home

This was such a lovely place to spend some time. Beautifully appointed!! Big back yard and a grill to boot. The town is quaint and charming with interesting small businesses and a great place to take walks down to see the river or watch the trains. The beds were very comfortable, the appliances were all fairly new and worked great. so many little details. This is a house that has a lot of love present. Thank you!

A friends birthday weekend.

Great. Will for sure stay there again. Close to town. We walked to the Christmas parade. A bunch of extras (coffee, tea, sugar, mini sodas in the fridge among many other extras. Plenty of space. The host was awesome. Any questions we had were answered very timely. Can't wait to go back.

Perfect Spot for a Wedding Stay

We stayed at this property for one night while attending a wedding nearby, and it was absolutely perfect! The location was so convenient, just a short drive from the venue, making it easy to get to and from the celebration. The property itself was spotless, with cozy, comfortable beds and plenty of space to get ready for the big event. The host was very responsive and made check-in/check-out a breeze. The atmosphere was peaceful and charming, providing the ideal place to relax after a busy day. We only stayed for one night, but we felt right at home. I highly recommend this property for anyone attending a wedding or any special occasion – it was a great experience!

Just perfect!

This little house was just perfect! Clean, cute, filled with extras (the scone was delish) and just straight out of a Cottage Magazine. It's location in Smithville was a quick drive to our event in Bastrop. My one complaint is that our event kept us from being there to enjoy it more!
