Disappointing and very noisy
A huge disappointment. The agents who’d been responsive up until arrival, chose not to tell us there was an operational crane and building works right outside our windows. Workers in Malta work 6 days a week from 7am-8pm. At night the base of the crane was lit with powerful LEDs. Not relaxing to be woken up by so much noise! I asked the agent to please move or release us from our contract which was refused but a 15% discount offered which has yet to be paid! Following this exchange, the agents stopped responding to any messages, even when asked for confirmation of our transfer to the airport.
On a positive note, the apartment was very clean. The housekeepers do a good job and the location is close to a beautiful promenade and many good restaurants. The apartment itself is spacious with good lounge furniture but most of the equipment is basic and the rooms sparse. I wouldn’t say finished to a ‘high standard’ as advertised. It is clean, basic and adequate. There was only one control for all the air conditioning units and one door key. The towels were very thin and there were no bedside tables in 2 rooms. The sockets were 3 pronged, but the majority of appliances had 2 pronged plugs and adapters were not provided. Also, no Wifi signal in the third bedroom.
As a previous review stated, maintenance in a few areas would help. The dishwasher door was faulty, the shower base seemed to leak and the bedroom doors didn’t fully close and had opaque glass panels which let light in.
