We stayed last weekend as we went for a funeral. They gave us a better rate as we were there for a funeral. The room with one king bed was very spacious and nice and clean. We had the complimentary breakfast on Sunday morning. The coffee was good and the food was hot .The eggs were good and the pancake machine was a hit with lots of people that were there.I will stay here again if we ever have to get another hotel in Slave Lake.It is also very close to fast food places ,the grocery store and the liquor store.
Stayed here for work. Very clean, friendly staff, comfortable beds and finally a hotel that has reliable, fast wifi. Stayed across street at another Inn and although it was clean, wifi was poor at best. We moved to HIE and were glad we did.
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on a recent business trip. Clean and modern, and pretty well equipped - it was a comfortable home base close to the centre of town, The styling of the rooms isn't anything exciting, but on par for this chain. My only concern about the room was a funky smell which seemed to go away only when I brought a front desk clerk up for a look. Staff at this hotel were top notch, definitely interested in client satisfaction. The breakfast was a solid 'ok', but more or less met expectations. It does have a hot tub that was pretty good, however it seemed a bit less than a professional setup. Overall I would repeat my stay here as I believe it to be the best place in town - and overall it was a good experience.
Stayed once again at this property while on a business trip in northern Alberta. Given my experience, this is still a really good choice for anyone needing a place to stay in Slave Lake. The hotel and rooms were still very clean, the bed was comfortable, and everything in the room worked. The selection at breakfast was terrific (although I was there early in the morning), and the hot items were still hot. The front desk staff were pleasant, and check in and out was really quick. I did not use the fitness center or the business center. Would again stay here in the future.
The front desk were great, rooms were clean and modern, large selection for breakfast. The hotel is modern and is located just across the street from a large retail park. We would definitely stay again.
I stayed here with my partner for two nights while visiting family in Slave Lake. On the day we arrived they were just changing over all their beds. The room was a really good size, the bed was massive and very comfortable. Breakfast had many options and the eating area was nice. Didn't get a chance to use the sports facilities but did check them. Fitness room was small and the hot tub looked decent. Checking in took a very long time and many unnecessary questions were asked but this may be due to new staff or their system not being effective. Positives: - Good location - Room felt clean - Excellent bed - Good size tv - Great breakfast options - Coffee machine in room with take away cups Negatives: - Front desk staff seemed clueless and unsure of when we made requests - No safe in room Overall would recommend this hotel as the positives far outweigh the negatives. Could easily stay here for a week.
This is a newer hotel. Staff are very nice and the rooms are nice and clean. Has a great business centre, workout facility and a nice hot tub. Close to restaurants and many fast food joints. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
I stayed for several days in August while in town on business. The hotel is new, clean and centrally located. Everyone was so friendly while I was there. I was checked in by a new person who was training and she and Tracy (the day manager) remembered my name and greeted me every time they saw me during my whole stay. It's a small detail but makes you feel so welcome. The rooms were clean and the breakfast buffet offered great choices and was extremely fresh which can be unusual for an included breakfast. Anytime I'm in Slave Lake again this will be my only choice for accommodation.
Stayed here with my significant other for a long weekend of hiking & time on the beach. Holiday Inn Express was perfectly located - short drive from the Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park & very close to the town (across the street from a power center with Sobeys, Canadian Tire, Walmart & Tim Hortons). Breakfast was really good - quite varied & well stocked for a free hotel breakfast & conveniently available from 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. (though they're definitely liberal with the 10:00 pack-up time, food was available well after). Rooms were clean & utilitarian, though we did have some issues with our A/C unit - it worked, but internal thermostat wasn't accurate in detecting room temperature, so it fluctuated. Otherwise, fit our bill & I would stay there again if I returned to Slave Lake.
Stayed here on a business trip. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The TV's were not brand new but were new enough not to offer bad quality viewing. The beds were comfortable and had both soft and hard pillows. Some rooms had air conditioning issues but were fixed after calling down to the front desk. Bathrooms had a little better quality toiletries and the bathroom wasn't small but not spacious. The fixtures were a little basic, reminded me of what I imagine camp fixtures would be like. Their was a continental breakfast included that also had a pancake machine as well as pre made omelettes and sausage/turkey patties. There was cereal and yogurt, bagels, bread, and a juice machine. The service was a little slow checking in, however it was a little busy at the time. Close to a gas station as well as Tim Hortons. Also close to the box store area that includes grocery stores and Walmart. In general it was newer than it was older and a good stay for the price.
