The rooms are very old , on the floor uncomfortable to walk without shoes - very dirty. The rooms look very modest. As a Platinum card holder , I did not have any signs.Air conditioning in room did not work at all.
Business trip in December 2017, rooms and bathrooms from the 90s for a high price, it would be useful to renovate the hotel or reduce prices. Rest on the middle level. Level too low for such a high price.
If you want to turn back in time to communist Poland, than Mercure at Czestochowa is highly recommended. The room furniture and bathrooms are outdated. the building itself is is like a workers hostel from the 80s of XX century. There is nothing interesting in building's architecture nor interiors. The hotel is worn out, needs maintenance, room smells like in old church. After staying in this hotel, my clothes soaked this strange smell and I brought it back home. It was rather funny than disgusting but still, it should not happen. The window blinds in the breakfast room desperately need cleaning. The staff was polite and nice what was a big plus.
Mercure is a nice hotel as for its standard. Rooms are clean and cozy however rather small. The food is sort of basic but fresh and tasty. Drinks were sort of expensive even as for hotel restaurant. The most attractive feature is the location which is just 5 minutes walk from the famous monastry.
We stayed here Sept., 2013. Memorable in a good way. There were clean, comfortable rooms. The staff was polite and the room service was delicious. The closeness to the shrine was very convenient. The beds were nice and bathrooms clean. Our room had a view with good lighting. It was nice . I would recommend it and go here again.
This was a group tour/pilgrimage and we visited many locations. The hotel had comfortable accommodations and good food. It was within walking distance of the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa. The Shrine is a must see and the hotel was an excellent stop for that purpose.
The hotel was excellent but the touring the concentration camp was disheartening. To see all that was done to all the innocent souls was wrenching, but most sickening was to realize how many folks either joined in the slaughter or looked the other way rather than risk being people of heart and caring. That was the most depressing thing of all. The hotel rooms were comfortable and the food was good, but the concentration camp did much to somber all of us there.
Very close to Jasna Gora and shrine of our Lady of Czestachowa- but that is it. Beds may as well be on the floor, bathroom is so tiny knees hit the wall. Struggling air conditioner took hours to cool room- food so-so at best
Made a reservation on hotels.com but i forgot to change the date from a formaer resv. from 24 th of april to 25 th. Of april We called the hotel 5 min after we made the resv. and told them that we made a mistake 5 min. ago and asked if we could change the day just 1 day to the 25 th. Until the 26 th. Of april that was not possible. Just to bad I lots my money. Worst hotel service ever. The guy from hotels.com had never seen that before that a hotel couldn't move the resv. Just one day.
Mercure Częstochowa used to be Orbis hotel in 80's and 90's and except for the lobby, you can feel at once (with its pros and cons). Rooms are smaller than at regular, modern Mercure, bathroom being the biggest disappointment (old style and tiny). If you happen to stay on weekends (Fri, Sat) and would like to have your window opened, remember it might be noisy in your room as there is a club close to the hotel (that works till 5 or 6 in the morning). Service and staff - these are definately strenght of the hotel (as it used to be in Orbis network). One should try Mercure Częstochowa breakfast - selection is up to Mercure standard, but the food taste and quality are far beyond.
