Hotel is what you would expect in any Marriott around the world. What makes this one special is its location and the staff. From reception to the bar (thank you Sandra), to the breakfast buffet staff all provide exceptional service. Location is on square with Alexander statue which means you are steps away from the new part of town and the Mother Theresa memorial and just across the stone bridge to the Holocaust museum and the Turkish bazaar. Room has usual amenities: toiletries, safe, kettle and you can call for a bathrobe. The spa area on the 4th floor was a treat. Several saunas, a large whirlpool, a smaller swimming pool, unique showers and heated "beds". Unfortunately, we were not able to book a spa treatment as they were fully booked. Breakfast was similar to other breakfast buffets we had in the Balkans but of better quality. Btw if you want a taxi, have the hotel desk call for you. Taxis waiting outside didn't want to use their meter to take us to the cable car and we would have paid double.
Typical Marriott experience. Clean, modern and too small. However this hotel has, apart from the very nice restaurant, one other ace up its sleeve. The spa is one of the better ones I've ever seen and would not have been out of place in a far more expensive hotel. Location is also good.
Highly recommend this hotel, they have great elite recognition & excellent customer service. If you are traveling to this town there is honestly no better place to be than the Marriott. In addition to its excellent location, the facilities and amenities are world class.
I just wrapped up my second long-stay visit at the Marriott-Skopje, which could not have been more wonderful. The rooms are nicely appointed and beds very comfortable, but the most terrific part of the stay at this hotel is the very responsive staff everywhere from the front desk, to the restaurant and bar, to the housekeepers. Every person I encountered was extremely helpful and friendly, knew my name, and was very responsive to any requests I made. The breakfast buffet and the dinner options are very good! The wait staff in the restaurant were particularly solicitous, no matter now busy. The gym has a wide choice of equipment and I never had to wait for a treadmill, since there are several. And, the front desk staff and housekeeping staff were very attentive. The manager of the hotel really knows how to manage -- I often saw him in the hotel ensuring that things were going well, particularly on busy days in the restaurant. I don't think anything escapes his careful attention. I highly recommend this outstanding hotel, which is in a superb location just adjacent to the city center square!!
The best hotel in Skopje, in my opinion. A bit disappointed with the fact I couldn’t get a toothpaste at a hotel of this standard-when I asked for one I was told by staff that nearest shop was 10 mins walk! Other than that everything was great- room was perfect and comfortable overlooking the square but no noise whatsoever. Gym is very limited but for one day was ok. Spa was amazing, I just loved it. Great breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel for a Skopje stay! Excellent value for money!
It is of course a 5 stars in all details from vast shower, comfy bad, nice déco. Breakfast is top level. Bar at main lobby and on the 5th floor (possibly elsewhere too). It is located on the main square, including view on it. Maybe too much? It is a modern neighborhood somewhere contrasting with reality in the city. Yet, a nice place to rest.
I recently stayed at the Marriott in Skopje. I prefer to stay at Marriott properties due to the high level of service and the fact that they are well maintained. My room was overlooking the square and was large and spacious. The shower was very nice with the option of a handheld or raindrop shower. Coffee and tea service provided along with options to use the minibar. The bed was large and comfortable and the room had a functioning safe. The location is superb-near the old town, restaurants and the bazaar. The breakfast is very comprehensive with many food options. I would recommend and when I am in town again, I will return.
My wife and I started our trip through Macedonia at Skopje Marriott. The staff were wonderful, the rooms were amazing. We thought it was especially kind when the staff came by on numerous occasions to ask if we needed anything and brought us chocolates. The location in Skopje square was exceptional.
I stayed for a couple of nights at the hotel. It's probably the best located and best overall hotel in the city of Skopje. However, I found the design, atmosphere, and room furnishings quite average. The cuisine was also average. It was also noisy on the street facing room, where I stayed initially, but quieter in the inward facing one. The staff was polite, didn't have the experience of what you find in other hotels, but it is expected as most I interacted with were trainees. Summarily, if I were in Skopje again, I would go back despite the shortcomings, hence the generous rating.
A truly lovely hotel with all the modern design and amenities one expects from a first rate American hotel. This type experience was hard to find in Macedonia. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and had a hot food area with custom made eggs. All in all, a wonderful moment. The location is superb!
