We stayed in the Barn. The facility is just across the road from the main hotel. We found the room exceptionally clean, cosy, modern and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was superb. Evening meal was great too. Cannot fault it!

Lister Arms was a welcoming place, rooms were clean & tidy. Bar and restaurant had a myriad of choices, the food was tasty (locally sourced) and delicious. Service was spot on with helpful and enthusiastic staff. My favourite was plentiful Black Pudding available for breakfast - breakfast heaven.

Perfect stay

Stayed in Lister Barn and the room was perfect, clean tidy and well stocked. Dinner and drinks in dining room/bar again perfect. Will no doubt stay there again.

Well impressed with the Inn overall but particularly the room which was spacious and fitted out with the best linen, bed, room and bathroom furniture. The best ingredients for the food too. Ideal location for the multiple walks in the area. To be recommended.

Expensive however great location . Banged head on sloping ceiling every time when getting in/out of bed and judging by the marks on the ceiling lots of people had . Served Luke warm burger , did mention it was offered to takes it back which would have overcooked it and burnt the cheese we had been told that there were no more burgers , offered free drink declined as sat there with full drinks , mentioned this when went to the bar to pay , paid the bill after explaining the burgers we’re Luke warm then discovered we had been charged service charge without informing us for such a poor quality expensive meal , service charge is voluntary not mandatory, don’t mind paying when a good experience, cancelled the booking for the next evening

Pub and Barn were lovely. We had a barn room and it was small but beautifully appointed. The coffee machine was a real bonus as was the homemade shortbread. The velux window was a bit of a challenge to open and close. Breakfast was very nice with really friendly helpful staff, checkout was also friendly and straightforward. This was in contrast to check in, (e.g. we were told they didn't want us mithering the cleaning staff, as if we would) lunch and evening meal. The food was nice enough but my partner remarked that the staff were like automatons in that they said the appropriate things as though they were reading off a card but seemed irritated that we were there.
