Nice modern feel to the room with glass panelled bathroom - which meant there was nowhere for the designers to attach a hook for a hand towel! Also the design of the taps (faucets) was a triumph of style over function unfortunately as they are very hard to turn on if you have wet hands. Why do designers do this? On the same note the operation of the lights in the room require an instruction manual (which apparently is to be provided) but why make a simple thing like switching on a light complicated. The controls are also difficult to see, especially if the lights aren't already on! In fact I couldn't see any manual for the room at all, unless it was on the tv but I couldn't see it there either. One other thing, our room has non-opening windows. I know this can be an issue for some, but the air-conditioning worked well and was completely unobtrusive. But having said all this, this is a nice hotel with excellent staff so assuming the technical quirks don't bother you, go for it.
We have stayed at this hotel before and it is definitely the best in the area. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, the rooms are excellent and the menu has everything going for it. My wife and I cannot wait to visit again.
Came here and stayed over night for a wedding party. Nice friendly staff, plenty of parking. Room was nice and clean and modern. The bed was really comfy too! The room/ hall where the wedding party was hosted was spacious and ideal for the event. Plenty of tables the only moan would be that they could have some extra help on the bar as one lady isn't enough to serve over 100 people.
Always enjoy staying at this hotel as it's clean and well looked after, the checking in process is good and the food is of a good quality If I could make a suggestion is to put a bell on the bar for when it's not staffed as I waited for a drink and decided to leave it being the bar was unattended but clearly open and waited along with overs for what seem an eternity
Stayed for business in April Hotel is well decorated and open giving a great first impression Staff are excellent and very attentive. The only downside to this hotel and it's the same with a lot of new/newly refurbished places is the design of the rooms. Not the decor that's fine in fact I'd go on to say really nice but the layout. lack of plug sockets anywhere near the bed it must be a health and safety thing but it drives you up the wall if like me you put your phone on charge at night and use it for your alarm. I don't have this particular problem bt the hair drier isn't near a mirror and therefore is on a long stretch cord which I'd imagine is a pain and the kettle plug continually falls down behind the desk when you up plug the kettle. One final irritation is the remote for the tv which you'll wonder why when you arrive is on the wall round the corner from the tv just put it next to the tv please holiday inn! So I don't have to go looking for it. This review may seem a bit pedantic and perhaps it is these are minor niggles really as the hotel is good value and the service has been great. Breakfast is good too and cheap by hotel standards.
It was my pleasure to stay at the Sittingbourne Holiday Inn for two nights. I found the room very comfortable and extremely spacious! And The rainfall shower was a welcome surprise ! Dining at their restaurant is a must - delicious food at Very reasonable prices. Top it off with Outstanding - helpful staff and you have a winning combination!
I am a frequent visitor to IHG properties, but to be honest I selected this hotel because it was conveniently located to Sittingbourne, where we had a family event. Given that my girlfriend’s mother had been to a wedding at the place years ago, I had assumed it would be a rather tired hotel. I could not have been more wrong; the hotel is sleek and modern with plenty of space and excellent rooms and facilities. I will let the photographs sell the place. The staff were very helpful and friendly not just at reception, but also at the bar and at breakfast. If you are in the area and you need a hotel you can’t do any better than this place. There is also plenty of parking and an excellent function suite.
We were a group of 5 people who all ordered different meals and enjoyed them. The staff were friendly and helpful and the price of the meals was good. We were able to use our Tastecard so we got 50% off the price (but remember to mention the card when booking & prior to arriving) The bar area is nicely furnished and very pleasant to sit in with very comfortable seats.
I checked into the hotel, the receptionist was very pleasant allocated me my room, on arrival at said room no duvet was in evidence so I rang back to reception and asked if it was an optional extra? Apparently not and one was brought up, I then went to dinner which was ok and then I retired to my particularly cold room, I decided to watch some TV only to find as well as the missing duvet the remote had also disappeared ! More calls to reception and 2 visits later a remote was issued, the staff were very pleasant but someone needs to pay attention.
The rooms are lovely with a king size bed and well maintained. Staff friendly and helpful. Only down side is the breakfast although good quality its over priced. Drinks about the same as pub prices and well kept.
