The Wangz Hotel Staff is the most cordial and welcoming you could ever ask to have upon checking in, staying, and checking out! The accommodations were very comfortable, clean, and no room has a long walk to an elevator. The location is fantastic. Walk to Chinatown, Half block to get the "Hop On, Hop Off" bus . Singapore is very easy to get around. The Hotel gives you a phone so you can call overseas to five different countries including USA, UK, Australia, China, and Taiwan!! That is unheard of in other hotels. It was also loaded with attractions you can book right on the phone as well as a GPS so if we got lost they could track us and get us back to The Wangz. This really is a plus, plus! The front office Faris, Isaac, & Bryan are the best a hotel could ever hope to have on their staff. They are the ultimate and I can't say enough about them. The Rooftop staff headed by Cristo is phenominal too. They all pay attention to your wants and needs. We definitely would stay at The Wangz Hotel in Singapore again. Thank you Wangz Staff, it was a pleasure.
great hotel, staff are ALL super nice i would have given 4 stars because of location of the hotel that is about a 15 to 20 minute walk from nearest mrt station, and is a little out of the way, super clean rooms, no view but nice rooms, nice breakfast and retaurant manager is super friendly, they provide a free phone with unlimited data for maps and local calls...all in all it was a very nice stay in singapour.
This hotel and the staff were one of the finest hotels I have ever experienced. Everything about the hotel was perfect. The beautifully decorated lobby with carefully curated art and sculptures the aroma of the lobby smelling like lemongrass and ginger. The rooms were large, spotless included fresh water and juices daily free, a handy phone was given to you free for international calls as well as local calls and maps on the phone to help navigate your way around Singapore. The neighborhood stunning old colonial style with new restaurants, bars, bakeries, cafes' on every corner. It was old and new style Singapore meeting whatever your needs are for the day. The breakfast at the hotel was fresh, large variety, coffee drinks as well as American style or Singapore style breakfast each morning as a part of your room rate The staff were professional, gracious and could not do more for whatever your request was. Arranging transportation, helping you with maps, restaurants, or handing you a umbrella. They were the best in the business and make this hotel beyond a 5 star. It was a privilege and complete pleasure experiencing this hotel. I would never stay anywhere other than the Wangz.
Second time at this lovely hotel and wasn't disappointed. The staff are absolutely incredible from the moment you arrive at the hotel with nothing too much trouble and always done with a smile on their faces. The rooms are very clean and modern, as is the whole hotel. The Upper Place restaurant on the rooftop is well worth a visit whether you are staying at this hotel or not as the food is exceptional and the service very friendly and efficient. Will use this hotel whenever I am back in Singapore.
We stayed here for three nights as a stopover before continuing on our way, but we’d happily spend more time here. We got a taxi from the airport which took about 35 minutes and cost 28SGD, however you can easily get to the local MRT station (Outram Park) in about the same amount of time for about 2SGD once you know how it works. More on that in a bit. The hotel also runs a free shuttle service to a few of the main parts of the city. Wangz is ever so slightly away from the main part of the city centre, but close to Chinatown (around a 15 minute walk) and it’s so easy to get around on the MRT that it hardly makes any difference. The hotel itself is incredibly clean and modern, with perhaps a dozen or so rooms over each of the 6 floors. The room we stayed in was clean, comfortable and had a lovely view of the city. The shower was fantastic, and we had all the essentials you’d really need from a hotel stay, including hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities and free cold drinks from the mini bar. Bonus: the room also has an internet connected smart phone you can take out with you, negating the need for a tourist SIM! It also gives you discounted rates on many of the main attractions in Singapore! The staff are super friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, including booking a taxi for us to the MRT with our suitcases when our Uber driver failed to show up. Thanks to that, we made the plane. The breakfasts are really good, served in the rooftop restaurant which has a choice of indoor and outdoor seating. The breakfast is served as a buffet with pastries, cereals, yoghurts, juices, and fruits. Hot dishes alternated slightly each day, with a choice of dim sum, spring rolls, pakoras, samosas as well as your usual Western dishes. Eggs are cooked to order, and are really good. The restaurant also served food throughout the day and in the evening, although we didn’t try it out. —— MRT - a really, really efficient train/underground service. We picked up a NETS FlashPay top up card that you simply swipe at the barriers to deduct credit. They cost 5SGD each, non refundable and last 5 years. The fares between stations are ridiculously inexpensive and will save you a fortune on taxi fare, as well as a lot of time as you don’t need to purchase tickets for each trip. We spent about 7SGD over our stay, with a *lot* of usage. Tourist cards are also available, but the normal ones were better value for our trip as we will be returning on the way home. The MRT takes you right to Changi Airport, and it’s really easy to find your way.
My wife and I truly enjoyed our two separate stays at Wangz Hotel this month. We were warmly welcome as soon as we got dropped off by the taxi. Check-in was quick and efficient and our luggages were delivered to our room in no time. The very nice scent and the custom designed furnitures in the lobby added to the welcoming atmosphere. The room was well designed, spacious and very comfortable. The complimentary drinks in the fridge including water, mango juice and cock were particularly welcome after coming back on a hot day. The free cell phone provided by the hotel proved to be very handy in getting directions and getting Uber/Grab. It also saved me from having to purchase a phone card. The breakfast was served in the roof-top restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. It was excellent value and had good variety including made to order eggs, bacon, sausage, smoked duck, spring roll, dim sum, congee, salad and fruits etc. We were particularly impressed by the reception staff who were professional and helpful. They have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. Of special mention is Mr. Faris who went beyond the call of duty to help us out. He even wrote us a note wishing us a pleasant trip home before he finished his shift. His professional service has made Wangz Hotel our home away from home and ought to be commended.
Staying here was a very pleasant surprise, from the warm welcome to them providing soft drinks free of charge and a smartphone (with unlimited data and calls back to the UK) also free - a great bonus! The rooms are a good size, with good a/c, but not convinced about the toilet in the shower! Great buffet breakfast on the rooftop. They also provide a free shuttle service to various points in town (but not to/from the airport!). They also allowed us a late checkout. Thoroughly recommended!!
If you’re looking for a small business hotel in Singapore, do yourself a favor: stop looking around and just book this. Look at my profile: I stay all over the world at hotels in different classes. This is a hotel which I can honestly say I have not even one complaint or gripe about. In fact, it exceeds my expectations in every way. Okay, does it have a pool? No. But I’m here to work, not swim. Rooms are very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast is good. Restaurants literally swarming the are around the hotel — just pick which cuisine you want and go. Ivy took good care of our small group, making last minute adjustments for us. Faris went above and beyond in helping us locate a great restaurant and handling all the paperwork for our group with a smile. Great hospitality. I’m not kidding — there’s a reason the reviews are so good. So stop looking for another option.
For the first time in my life I was in a hotel that lent me a mobile phone with unlimited 4G data and unlimited calls to 5 countries!! It was extremely helpful as we didn’t have to do roaming with our mobiles. As of the location, unfortunately it’s a bit far from the marina, so you either use their free shuttle (morning only) or uber or metro. Breakfast is excellent, mix of western and Asian foods, including beautiful hash browns!
We stayed at Wangz for one night prior to going on a cruise from Singapore. The hotel was ultra modern and the rooms very stylish. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A super breakfast was included which was great value. We also ate for the one night we were there and the restaurant again was very good and great value. The only down side was the hotels location quite far from most sights. Though this did not stop us enjoying our one nights stay and is ideal for a cruise stop over. Would recommend for this reason.
