We spent three nights in the hotel and had an awesome stay. The only small flaw was that our room had the air from a/c pointing directly to one of the beds, which made sleeping quite uncomfortable. Such a pity, as the room (a corner room) was so big and nice. We asked to change the room after the first night and we were given another one, with a different layout, so we had no problem with the a/c. It was smaller but with a better view. We also had access to the executive lunch, where both the staff and the food are fantastic.
Friendly staff. Big, clean room. Good shower and bathroom facilities. Nice pool area with view of river. So convenient with having shops and restaurants right there. MRT close too.
Swissotel is a great hotel, located in a great place.
Stayed here for 2 nights. Hotel walking distance to Chinatown and other sightseeing interest. Staff great. Good food. Will stay here again if in Singapore
We had a most wonderful trip staying for 8 nights. It was my birthday and the hotel was so nice . It is very central to everything, walking distance to tours, china town and other attractions. Staff were just the best .
Was visiting on business for a fortnight and looking for a room which would be comfortable enough to spend some time, relax, or get some work done. The hotel provided all this and with the amenities, comfort of the bed, convenient desk, internet and daily newspapers and selection of magazines, I would always consider this Swissotel again.
Not the fanciest of 5 star hotels, but can't beat the location right in Clarke Quay. No complaints.
Hotel was located in an excellant area. Across the street from a mall and with lots of resturants in the area. Several means of transportation almost at our door step, including river taxis. Within walking distance to Chinatown and more shopping areas. The hotel was lovely and the staff lived up to what one would expect from a five star hotel. Highly recommend the Swiss Merchant. You won't be disappointed!
We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Swissotel Merchant Court, Singapore. The hotel is beautifully designed, with colonial Singapore decor in the public areas and modern decor in the rooms. The reception desk staff, bellmen and concierges were very helpful and professional. The hotel seems very well run and managed. It would be nice if the computers in the business center were free, as in many US hotels. The hotel has a perfect location, across from a mall with a MRT station, and next to Clarke Quay, which has many cafes, restaurants and the iconic bumboat rides. In the mall is a great little restaurant named Swissmade, which serves excellent breakfasts, at a reasonable cost. The beautiful, ultra modern, air conditioned MRT station allowed us to easily access a number of Singapore sights. The only negatives were a limited selection of western food on the hotel's dining room dinner menu and waiting a long time for hot water in the 9th floor bathroom sink. The shower quickly warmed up, however. We highly recommend this hotel!
hotel check in pretty slow as the receptionist does not seen to be well experienced . Depends where the rooms are located otherwise noises from the Clark quay area outside can be heard inside the room. Amenities in the room is satisfactory except there are no sets of large drawers to place personal items and only 1 bedside table for a king size bedroom.
Good hotel, great location, will go back. We tired of each meal being primarily buffet style, but regular menues were to be had and restaurants abound in the neighborhood.
Well done and well located for business. I checked out, but because my flight was late, I used the business centre for five hours after check out. They also provided a "hospitality room" (in the spa) to freshen up befor going to the airport-at no charge
The Swissotel Merchant Court is in a perfect location to just walk to the Singapore Harbor area, in fact, Taxis can't even get you any further past of where the hotel is located, which is right at the beginning of the pedestrian only area. The rooms are fairly large and luxurious. The hotel lobby needs a bit improvement to create a more cozy feeling. Overall, this hotel is not inexpensive, but offers a great value.
From check-in to check-out, staff were very responsive to all requests, above & beyond what's normally expected given past experiences in hotels in singapore.
Honestly - from the start of the visit until the end, I was quite happy with the service. Especially in comparison to hotels in Singapore, this one really stood out. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.
I looked at many properties and have stayed in many 5 star properties in Singapore but this was a real deal, excellent service, fair prices and the best location on the Quay. Even when it was raining one could still walk under covered areas and enjoy all the shops and restaurants. It is also right adjacent to China town where bargins and street food abound. I only had one challenge and that was my room was above some construction. However, when I called the Manager he quickly moved me to a quite room and even upgraded me to a newly refurbished room with flat screen TV, the new decor, and the new amenities which included a brew a cup coffee machine. I have always liked Swiss Hotel properties and this is one of the best. You won't go wrong. Oh yes, forgot to mention the 24 hour fitness and the large beautiful pool. It is one of the best facilities ever and the Blue Potato restaurant by the pool is an award winning restaurant that should not be thought of as just a place to have a bite by the pool. It is one of the few places I have ever seen with a full onsight open grill kitchen with 2 chefs preparing fresh asian and American dishes.
Room and service were excellent, and the best location.
The hotel staff was great and answered all my questions. Also situated in close to all fun and games.
The hotel location was ideal since it is located by the river and next to restaurants and late night actions. We were able to go out every night because of that.
Location is great, very central, right in front of clark quey. MRT is next door as well, but we never used it as taxi are so cheap in Singapore. the hotel is clean, with gym, pool, internet, babysitting service. We were travelling with a 2 yrs old and found it very easy. It is not as fancy as Marina Bay, the Raffles or the Fullerton, but it is a very very good option, especially travelling with a young family.
