I had a lovely time at Sofitel Sentosa for a NYE staycation. The ambience and surroundings of the hotel was perfect - with a out-of-Singapore few for the locals who didn't eventually travel oversea for the long week-end. While an early check-in wasn't possible, staff at the hotel were always attentive to needs, and happy to chat with guests. Gunalan at the swimming pool was helpful, and Alex (or Ivan) at the LeBar was also friendly and happy to share his own reccomendations. While the experience at il-Lido for NYE was a little disappointing, the hotel did it's best to serve a festive mood for the count-down on the hotel premises itself - short of fireworks, it has good music to dance the night away to. A nice gesture of an extended check-out to let bleary eyed revellers rest a little more is always appreciated. Looking forward to a next staycay here already!
Relaxing and luxurious hotel. We stayed here for a weekend after a corporate conference. Excellent service and well decorated resort. You can find peacocks everywhere. Good food and drinks. We enjoyed so much the weekend getaway at Sofitel.
I booked one of the villas for a weekend to celebrate my parent’s golden anniversary. We had a wonderful experience throughout. The villas are spacious with a very decent sized pool that is deep enough along with spacious outdoor eating and gathering areas. Peacocks, hens and their chicks roam the hotel freely, we had 3-4 of them hanging out in the patio and they are pretty domesticated. Before visiting, I emailed to order a cake to celebrate my parent’s anniversary and Sofitel was so kind to as make them a mini wedding cake, compliments of the house. After we checked in, the hotel got a buggy to take my parent’s to their villa. On another day, they again offered a buggy ride when seeing my dad walking around the hotel grounds slowly. Sentosa’s quieter beaches (Palawan, Tanjong) are accessible via 132 steps staircase and you can run along the quiet roads to Fort Siloso too. The hotel is situated on a quieter part the island, but they have regular shuttles that drop you off at Resorts World and Vivo City. If using Sentosa transportation, Bus B gets you to So-Spa which is owned by Sofitel. We did not try the spa but plan to as day guests in 2018.
We held our wedding lunch here - The location was stunning and added a special atmosphere to the occasion. If you're planning on making this a wedding location, the Sofitel events team is really helpful and you can count on them to ensure that everything runs smoothly. It's perfect as a holiday get-away too and we had the most relaxing time after the wedding, at the spa and at the bar within the hotel grounds. Highly recommended for newly-weds and families alike!
We had a 2 days 1 night staycation at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa on 27 Dec. 2017 and I have nothing but praises about this beautiful luxurious resort. There is a free shuttle bus from Vivocity to Sofitel hotel lobby or from Sofitel to Vivocity, which plies every 30 minutes. Unwittingly, we took the shuttle bus that is meant for their "Ambassadors" and had a stop at the staff quarters before reaching the hotel. We should have taken the shuttle bus that states "Hotel Guests" only as it would go directly to the Spa and hotel. It was a 10 minutes bus-ride to the hotel. We were enchanted by the huge chandelier at the ceiling and the beautiful Christmas tree, reindeers and decorations at the lobby area. Even the reception counter has a beautiful round display of art. Pop is an excellent and helpful Ambassador. Our room was not ready yet as we were early but he told us that he would call us when our room is ready. When our room in the Peace Wing was ready, Pop personally escorted us to our room on the 4th floor. There are 2 Wings: Peace & Tranquillity. Apparently, the rooms at the Peace Wing are quieter as they are further away from the reception area and car parks. As we entered the room, there is a small corridor which leads us to another room. The room is spacious and is tastefully decorated. There is a small coffee expresso machine with expresso capsules and TWG teabags in a refreshment centre which is shaped like a tim-sum basket and very unique. The minibar with beverages and snacks are re-stocked daily. Our room overlooked the garden and villa and we can see the peafowls. We explored the resort premises which occupy a vast area of land. The resort is surrounded by lush greenery, beautiful gardens, horse statue and water fountains. There is also a water lily pond with carps and we get to exfoliate and rejuvenate our feet in a complimentary fish spa. One amazing feature that caught our eyes were the resident peafowls. These peacocks and peahens were roaming freely on the garden grounds, letting out piercing calls and once in a while, we will be treated to a beautiful train display of feathers. Such a beautiful sight and wonderful experience living so near to nature! The rectangle swimming pool is surrounded by palm trees, sun beds, cabanas and deck chairs. It has two depths: 1.4m and 2.5m deep. There is also an Italian restaurant, Illido at the Cliff, which overlooks the South China Sea. The resort also has direct access to Tanjong Beach but we have to take 132 stairway steps to reach the endpoint. It is also close proximity to Palawan beach which we went to see the beautiful sunset. Breakfast is at Kwee Zeen where there is air-con and al-fresco seating. We chose to sit at the al-fresco area and were surprised to see the peacocks which parade at the outdoor area, looking for food. Breakfast spread has a wide and good variety. Overall, we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at the beautiful sanctuary. Our staycation is so relaxed and close to nature, that we didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back.
We held our wedding celebrations at Sofitel Sentosa recently and were very impressed with the planning and execution by your events team, led by Joni Lim. Though there was a slight blip from the lack of proper handover, all our worries and concerns were assuaged once Joni took charge. Detailed, meticulous and responsive, she was on top of most items and often went out of her way and professional responsibilities to prep us for the event. That said, we do note a couple of items for improvement: 1. Common toilets near the ballroom were not adequately maintained with issues over the flushing systems and lack of general upkeep / cleanliness. 2. The wine / alcohol service during the dinner was very slow and refills had to be requested several times 3. Poor ventilation resulting in a lingering and unpleasant smell in the rooms 4. Late check ins for our guests and mix ups / confusion over the allocation of rooms Despite the above, it was a lovely event for us and it was Joni who made all the difference and saved the day!
Great secluded location with a view over the Sentosa bay and great facilities including a very nice pool area. As always with Sofitel, service and design is consistently delivering to expectations. The room was exquisite with a real upscale 'beach holiday' feel and we had a great meal at the Italian restaurant. The last day was a bit overwhelming with a bunch of Chinese tourists embarking which made for some fun breakfast scenes. Didnt try out the Spa (across the street in a seperate premise connected through shuttle rides) but was told (?) that had to pay to access the basic amenities such as gym, hamam etc.
Wanted to have a quiet, relaxing Christmas Eve dinner so we booked a table at the Spa restaurant at Sofitel Sentosa. Food was great and the service was superb. Chef Ben, Chef Terry created some delicious organic, healthy meals whilst the service staff Joey, Stella and Soo were so friendly and accommodating. had a wonderful night/dinner
We had our wedding dinner on the 16th of december 2017, at il lido at the cliff, located in Sofitel Sentosa. The service at sofitel was incredibly poor and I was left with no one to contact, until 6 weeks leading to the wedding dinner date. Events staff would resign without informing me, and emails and calls were left unanswered. I had to call the front desk multiple times to get in touch with the events team, and it was a different events manager each time. I even had to send an email to the general manager of sofitel (Mr. Piotr Kupiec), in which I got no replies to. My parents in law had to physically go down to sofitel, to find out what the problem was and why we weren't able to reach anyone. Finally, I got put in touch with Joni Lim, who personally managed our event and was more than helpful. She was very eager to help, and always had a bright and cheerful personality. Unlike the other events managers I had communicated with, Joni was very efficient and knew exactly what was going on, and remembered what had been previously discussed in each meeting. She made planning the wedding dinner so much easier, and for that, we are incredibly thankful. If it wasn't for her, my husband and I were prepared to escalate the terrible service of sofitel, to the head office. Besides Joni, the other staff at Il Lido Restaurant were incredibly helpful and wonderful to work with. Valentina always had a smile on her face and was very professional. Chef Simone's creations were amazing and almost every guest complimented the food that evening. The dessert and cheese table was set up beautifully and the dinner was everything we had hoped for and more! Il lido restaurant is truly the saving grace of Sofitel Sentosa. I don't usually write reviews, but Sofitel was such a disappointment, and left us feeling very angry over something we were meant to be excited and happy about. We chose Sofitel over a few other venues because we thought they would provide excellent service. It is still a beautiful wedding/party venue, but I would advise that you request for Joni, to save yourselves a lot of stress!
We celebrated our wedding at Sofitel last weekend and would like to express our appreciation to Joni Lim, our banquet planner who did a fabulous job overseeing the event. Joni alleviated the stress of planning this important event with her enthusiasm, responsiveness and most of all her sincere and genuine desire to ensure that we can also enjoy this important and special day with all our friends and relatives. She often went out of her way to help us with the event, going well beyond her responsibities as a planner and we hope that she will be deservedly recognised and rewarded for her efforts and professionalism. Kudos once again to Joni and her team!!
