First of all, check in was a breeze even though I had arrived earlier than the usual check in time. The reception staff had managed to the room ready for me within 15 mins. Entering the room and you will be amazed by the sheer size of the room even though it was just a Deluxe Room. The room came with balcony as well. Cleanliness was also up to standard. Although the location is probably considered quite off as it is not exactly located in a centralised area, but you get to enjoy the peace away from the city. There are also restaurants and supermarket at your convenience. Overall, this is an underrated hotel up at the north. Such a hidden gem! I would recommend this hotel for family staycations
I got a free one night stay as part of my wedding package at OCC and believe me, I was pleasantly surprised by the room - the room was huge as compared to the other hotels that I've done a staycation in Singapore before (and I checked the prices, it's about the same). They provided nice towels and toiletries as well. The view towards the reservoir was nice and TV channels were plenty. Breakfast spread was sufficient and wasn't too bad. Can't wait to be back next year and use the pool.
Spent the New Years in OCC. It was a pleasant experience. Room was spacious and I liked that they had a balcony too. Plus point for smokers. Food at gayatri's restaurant which is in OCC is delicious! Room was clean and furnitures were well maintained. Check in was a bliss. Friendly staffs! Been to OCC 2 times and it never disappoints.
This is my 2nd stay at Orchid Country Club. Back then was staying alone in deluxe room. This time around I brought my family along upgraded to family room. Family room is on the ground floor & the biggest room. The moment they've stepped in the room, everyone was so mesmerised, even our visitors - we r the type who travel the world & in our honest opinion, it's worth to stay here if u have good taste. The size is really spacious. 1 queen bed & 2 single beds which r like super single size (bigger than expected). It's too comfy that everyone hoped to have stayed longer instead of just 2D1N. When u open the balcony, u can see the golf course & in fact u can go to the swimming pool, gym, restaurant from there etc. The scenery or fengshui is very classy. It's 4 star but makes u feel 5 star as the facilities is bountiful. ;). There is singing, bowling, grocery as well. Gymnast is only for kids sadly. Staycation is perfect here if u r a local. U will never want to go out if u stay here. :) As for tourist, u can take the shuttle bus to yishun mrt travel. It's easier to get to town area from mrt if u dont want to get lost. :). Taxi wont cost a bomb if u r in a rush. :) Id like to sincerely thank Suhaimi for his excellent service. He makes me feel very comfortable to check in & check out with lots of patient. Other staffs r also fantastic. Restaurant wise, do eat at Gayathri (indian food) if u r the type who mind about very delicious food. Im one of those too. :)
We stayed at Orchid Country Club for three nights in November 2016. Our room overlooked the golf course and was spacious. The first thing I did when I walked in the room was flop on the bed. The bedding was cooling and clean and the airconditioning was a wonderful relief from the hot humid Singapore air. My husband found the bed a bit too firm but I had no issues with it. The bathroom was a good size and the only problem I had was that I stubbed my toe a couple of times because there is a slight drop in height from the floor of the main area to the bathroom. We chose the OCC because it is so close to the zoo and we were not disappointed. When you have spent an exhausting day at the zoo the last thing you want to do is take forever to get home. I think it was only 10-15 minutes drive from the zoo. The OCC has great amenities including an onsite grocery store which stocks everything you need, multiple restaurants including Vanda Terrace which I recommend visiting,a Subway franchise, bowling alley and a conference centre. They also have a fantastic free shuttle service to Yishun which we used multiple times. There is a large shopping centre at Yishun as well as an MRT station which can take you back to the centre of Singapore. We found all the staff friendly and professional and they arranged taxis for us promptly. The OCC is not a new facility but has charm and character which new facilities don't always have. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the OCC to families and couple wanting a relaxing stay out of the hustle and bustle of Singapore.
I visited the Gayatri Restaurant here and the food was good. It's an Indian cuisine place, I am not sure if they serve buffet every night but what we ordered was the naan which was good, the berayni rice and the mee goreng (Fried Indian style noodles). The mee goreng despite all the condiments that were on top (not necessary really), was surprisingly quite tasty. I recommend you try that when you are there. The facilities of the club were thus far adequate as one would expect of a club like this. It is a little out of the way from downtown Singapore but the overall ambience of the club was quite peaceful and if you a driving there is an open parking space (not sure if they have a underground parking bays though)
We discussed the night before and decided to wake-up early for the breakfast here as its near the vicinity where we live, When we arrived, the staffs ushered us to our seats and they were polite and helpful,we opted for the buffet spread but it was disappointing for the price that they had offer,we dont mind if we have to pay more if it was much more choices and the quality was below par, nevertheless it was an experience that we won't forget, they had a good selection of groceries at the supermarket though... The area was enormous and clean...
Honestly, it's a good place for both family and couples. This place is filled with slot of facilities. Starting from the lodge/hotel, room is clean and air-con is good. Basic toiletries provided! Toothbrush, shampoo, body soap and even a shaving kit! In the fridge, there's a few chargeable can drinks. However, there's complimentary mineral water and coffee/tea. There's a safe box in the closet, along with ironing board and 2 bath robes. Not advisable to go out of the balcony at night due to insects. Checking in/out was fast and smooth. Facilities wise, gym is big and satisfying! There's bowling and swimming pool, NTSC outlet and even ATM machine. Overall, it's my 2nd visit here and I'm still not sick of it. 😁 Highly r ecco mended! Book through agoda, cheaper!
A bit north from Singapore, about 30 min drive from Downtown you'll find this fantastic peacefull Country Club Hotel. The hotel is next to the drive range and clubhouse, on the premises. The rooms are big, well decorated, very comfy beds. Great shower and a balcony with a view.. Awesome! You can have breakfast at the clubhouse served by very friendly staff. This place has a great pool for kids and a big pool for your work out, and a supermarket and bowling area, and fitness club... you name it. If you're not interested in staying downtown and don't mind a cab ride of 30 min. This is the place to be! Oh and by the way, they've got a fantastic Japanese restaurant on the premises... definitely go there!
Went the country club option and have failed miserably. The staff are not all that helpful. The facilities are very ordinary. There are so many rules it feels like boarding school. The room is outdated and the beds rock hard. Will not being staying here ever again. 5 star price 2 star facilities.
