We had a brief stop here on the way home and found the hotel to be a comfortable and conveniently located hotel which was good value for money. We have stayed in the big chain hotels before and paid a lot more without getting much more in the area of facilities. There is so much to see and do in Singapore that all you really need is a central launching place and somewhere to sleep. The Link Hotel is located in the historic area of Tiong Bahru which is well served by the surrounding shops. It is also convenient to get to places like Sentosa Island and the Marina area. The hop on hop off bus stop is right across the road and the public bus system is also great in Singapore and this hotel is serviced by many bus routes.
We booked a deluxe room, given a “free upgrade” to a bigger room. However, the room Housekeeping is terrible. There was a lack of toiletries and tissue/toilet paper was not replenished. The room also had a slight smokey odour. Also, this bigger room is a handicapped room, with a handicap friendly toilet. It is however not very user friendly for us since whole toilet gets very wet after a shower. We are not made known to this fact before we took the “free upgrade” and were forced to stick to it since there were no other rooms available. The standard of this room (Housekeeping and design) is like a chalet, not worth the hotel price.
I was wonderfully surprised by the condition of the room. I have stayed here before many years back and it has always been so so. But this time I am very, very satisfied with the stay. Slept blissfully through the night. And the car park is still FREE. Will definitely stay here again.
Link Hotel ain’t your conglomerate-type of facade and experience. Situated right smack in the prime spot of Tiong Bahru, a heritage site of Singapore, a cozy stay at Link with warm hospitality from the staff makes your experience more grounded and worth your while.
Very Nice Place, and very big, takes both sides of Tiong Bahru Rd. Has a A/C walk over bridge over the road. Close to everything, has a couple of restaurants in the same building, close to parks, shopping and public transport such as the MRT. Nice clean rooms spacious, with nice views of the neighborhood.
Reception staff were extremely helpful but the rooms could do with some improvement. A bit of a foul odour with the bar fridge not in proper operational order. The photographs on the website is not a true reflection of the room.
A no frill hotel converted from 2 blocks of Singapore Improvement Trust (SIT) flats during the 1950s. The location of the hotel is very centralised right in the heart of the city within the Tiong Barhu Heritage District. The hotel main building was once the location of the famous coffee shop Wah Heng in the early 1980s. As singing bird owners hang up their singing bird chriping at the corner while sipping a nice cup of kopi. Highly recommended to explore the neighbourhood and spend an afternoon at any of the hippy cafes dotted all around the area.
I want to personally thank all those at the Link Hotel who looked after me so well after my injury to my leg last week, particularly James Wong and Carol who went to great lengths to look after me and enquire as to my welfare both at the time of my injury and throughout the remainder of my stay and also several other staff members at the hotel who also helped me. It was much appreciated and helped ensure that my stay in Singapore was still an enjoyable and happy occasion. I also was more than happy with all the facilities at the hotel and with the hotel's location. I would be very happy to stay there again.
stay for a night due to flight transit. check in was smooth. glad that they allow me to check in before check in time. room wise is OK. not big but just enough for my stuff. I was given two single bed even when I was alone. that is OK as I think they were full house on that particular day. counter staff is friendly and approachable. thumbs up for that. Have a hand phone in the room for guest use. very useful as I can call my family in Malaysia for free. how thoughtful. overall experience is good. will be back again in future.
Room is nicely decorated. Simple yet equiped. Everything you need is there. Hotel provide free mobile for use in case you do not have roaming service. Receptionist were friendly and can attend to your needs. very professional in their service. MRT is near and good food is everywhere. keep up the good work.
