Jayleen 1918 Hotel

The best thing of the hotel is the location, 3 minute walking to the subway, walking distance to Chinatown. The staff was really kind with us. The rooms are small and the buffet breakfast is average. Wifi wasn’t good, slow and was hard to connect sometimes.

Great location, near clark quey MRT station, merlion is in walking distance, breakfast is nice, clean room, helpful staff and all you can expect from mid-range hotel. But it has a great sundeck on rooftop where you can hang around with marina bay view, which is very nice.

Getting a good quality room at a cheap price in Singapore isn't easy, but Jayleen was up to the job and in a great location too. Room was quirky but quiet and the bed was comfortable. One thing to bear in mind is that taxis will not stop outside the door so you will have to walk around the corner with your luggage.

We booked a room for three nights and were given a very tiny room without a window. The room was so stuffy that we had to have the air conditioned all night. No room for luggage and hardly any room for sitting. It was very annoying. When we asked for another room we were told to pay more for it. I think the room we were given is not fit for any traveler in any hotel.

Hotel is average. Rooms are really small and they just try to adjust more single beds in those small rooms. Location of the hotel is awesome thats the only reason one can choose this budget hotel. Hotel staff asks you to come down with jug for water refill by yourself and they even ask my friend to wash cups to reuse by herself only which was weird.

I stayed for a period of 2 weeks on a business trip. The staff is courteous and will try to help you as much as they can. The rooms are small but cozy and you wouldn't feel claustrophobic. Although the sheets are not the cleanest but the housekeeping staff does their best. The only negative thing about my room was the ants in some areas of the room. I had complementary breakfast along with my stay, and the breakfast was merely passable- they did not have placeholders for the dishes, the food was mostly cold and the taste was also okayish. Nothing to compare with the buffets in other hotels such as Novotel etc. Given the amount of money these guys charged, I would have expected a lot better. The Wi-Fi also started acting up sometimes with very low speeds (couldn't even open email) but most of the time it was okay. The location of the hotel is perfect, walking distance from everywhere- offices, Clarke Quay and MRT station.

Hotel location is exceptional - very central and close to financial district – this is the main advantage! And we can mention the effort to maintain the hotel, an refurbished old house. But the hotel is tired even with all efforts, room very small - for this size - price is too high (we understand is Singapore), breakfast should be improved, WiFi is hopeless - v slow. Special mention for the staff: very friendly and helpful attitude.

Great location, just two minutes away from the Clarke Quay shopping centre and MRT station. I was impressed with customer service. WiFi in our room was not working properly so they sent quite a few people including the owner to fix the problem. Hint: take the lift to the roof top in the evening. The views of the area are great.

To summarise: - THERE ARE FLEAS!!! - grey towels with stains, I don't even want to know what it is - hairs under the sheets I had to change hotels at 1am due to all of the above. It is not even about quality or preference (the hotel staff kept trying to say "...if you don't LIKE our hotel..."). When a place does not meet minimum hygiene standards and is a threat to your health (fleas and dirty sheets and towels) I don't think it is about "like" or "dislike"!

Stayed in July after no room in the Jayleen Clerk Quay, so glad we got transfered there as it was a pleasant stay. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly, great location everything you need nearby. Rooms are small but ok as you don't need a big room as your out most of the time. I would stay there again but would book into the sister hotel Jayleen 1918 is much better
