Worst ever unfriendly reception especially deputy manager

nice home style hotel. clean and tidy 80s style but some places upgraded.

The hotel is old and is not in a good maintenance. The air condition didn't work and the bathroom smell bad. For the price I think is a very bad choice.

My primary complaint with this hotel was that their internet service stinks. You have to go down to the cashier to buy a card ($26 per day), but there's no warning if the card runs out. My important Skype call dropped out mid call. I called the desk, and they told me I had to go downstairs to buy a new card. But even when you connect, the the connection speed is slow and intermittent. I found it was easier and quicker to sit in the lobby of the Marriott Hotel and use their free internet than to use the Royal's paid-for connection. But that wasn't all. When I complained to the deputy manager, he got all defensive, and kept trying to evade the point. On top of that, the air con doesn't work properly, the wash basin only delivered cold water, and the TV volume couldn't be adjusted. I will never stay at that joint again.

We booked the hotel because of the reasonable price in Singapore,a vey expensive city. We got what we paid for. It could be much better if it wanted to, but it seems that management is not watching.For example we had one of the best room in the hotel on the 16th floor ,just renoveted a few months ago,modern in good taste,new furnitures,bathroom etc... very nice. BUT: there is already mold in the bathroom around the tiles and the tub because it is not cleaned properly.management should be on top of this. Also, the windows are bolted shut so the air is stale in the room,unpleasant. Too bad it could be a nice hotel

Hotel was nice and is located an easy 5 minute walk from the Novena MRT station. There are some restaurants and a small food court right here if you need something at night. The only downside was the air con in one of the 3 rooms was a little inefficient. Otherwise, it was fine.

The hotel is very well located, the breakfast buffet was very good. Good value.

The room was not very clean. The sink basin had a large crack in it. The TV reception was horrible. There was no one to help with my bags on check in or check out. No service to help with getting a taxi. Check out staff slow and complained they were busy and forgot to give me my receipt and no 'thank you'.

Good location and staff was really friendly and helpful. We were located near Orchard Road and Novena Square, and was walking distance to Newton Food Centre! The only thing that I didn't like and was shocked to find was that our bathroom was dirty. There was hair on the floor and the tub was not clean.

Hotel says it has been refurbished but this still needs to be cleaned up. The doors are peeling, the carpet is musty, the lamps and decor are not adequate and broken also, and the bathroom needs to be cleaned better. Yes I was looking for an inexpensive place to stay for 2 nights but this was no value. I have stayed in older hotels in various travels and sometimes the experience is quite good with sparkling linens and rustic charm and good work accomodations. The hotel had none of those.
