Large selection of buffet breakfast. Has interconnecting rooms with complete kitchen amenities. Washing machine was not functioning but was changed immediately when informed. Near to metrorail and shopping malls.
We were not expecting much from this hotel and we stayed at this hotel right after staying at Ibis Bencoolen in the same area. Hotel is well located on a quiet street, minutes from the main SMU admin building, walking distance to City Hall MRT / Brash Basah MRT. The hotel building from outside does not look very appealing. Our check in was Ok, the concierge helped us with storing luggage. The room we were given was spacious with good interiors. Washroom again was modern with basic toiletries provided. WIFI worked fine. We did have breakfast here and the spread was good even for vegetarians. Most of the negative reviews are here from Singapore Airlines passengers who must have been expecting something way more luxurious and hence their disappointment. You can get very good rates for this hotel, keeping that in mind, it’s worth considering for business or leisure.
Rooms are really nice and also big as compared to other hotel...Location is really nice.. close to a metro station which is just 2 mins walk away..its in the heart of the city and all the site seeing points are very close by..
The Hotel surprised us with a comfort and facilities that far exceeded our expectatations. Our flight reached S'pore nearly a half-hour before schedule and we were at the Hotel desk at 6.30am. The staff checked us in without any fuss to our great relief. The stay was comfortable, the room service was prompt and minor problems were attended to immediately.
Hotel is comfortable, rooms are clean and well looked after. The hotel is conveniently situated - it's close enough to the main tourist strip (we walked to the Singapore flyer, gardens by the bay, etc.), but without being anywhere near as expensive as the hotels in the tourist area. The hotel is about 3 minutes walk from Orchard street, where there are a number of MRT stations to head in different directions. You can see that it's an older generation hotel (it's a concrete brick rather than the glass towers in the bay), but it's been redone nicely. The pool on the 5th floor provided some much needed relief from the Singapore heat after a day of travelling the city. Breakfast in the hotel was a great buffet. I would definitely recommend Hotel Royal at Queens as a base from which to explore Singapore.
For Singapore the hotel was pretty good value, the rooms were tied but were comfortable enough (TV reception was poor but not a big issue as we were not in Singapore to watch TV). On the rooms though, the shower curtain was the most annoying thing, you could not have a shower without it clinging to your body (see pics). Over all good value and only 200m from MRT. Breakfast was pretty good too, lots of variety and quantities.
to begin with the duty managers 1. mrs hann 2. mr. surendra. as my son was unwell had to cut short my stay . they went out of their way to ensure the necessary changes were done so i didnt suffer any loss. the bell desk housekeeping room service extremely helpful. the room i had opted for a corner room was excellent cud see the singapore flier . the room was spacious clean no complains at all. location with bras basah mrt just minutes away the location is excellent. its close to bugis street arab street and everything is so accessible. across the road there are eating places if you want to try out variety. the breakfast buffet was excellent value for money though u have to be on time else things could get over. overall super stay.
Well located hotel- just off Orchard Rd, near Raffles, underground train and the hop-on-hop-off bus route. Very tired...could do with a coat of paint and some sprucing up. Towels were threadbare; no face-washes. Hairdryer literally exploded- fused the room. Shower/bath leaked. Breakfast was dreadful....although locals seemed to enjoy it. Foyer has ridiculously small amount of very uncomfortable seating for people waiting for airport transfers. Not expensive so we didn't expect luxury....but this hotel is certainly below any reasonable standard. Staff in the foyer sit at a row of desks- looked like they couldn't care less.. Most inefficient- took extremely long time to complete check in. Did appreciate being given access to one of our two booked rooms well before the 2pm check-in time- after a long flight. What was our travel agent thinking!!
This is a very good short stay hotel . It was part of our stopover deal with Singapore air. The hotel is conveniently placed for getting around the city. The rooms are clean and larger than often encountered . The decor is a little tired but perfectly adequate. The staff are pleasant and helpful . Breakfast is fine.
Stayed 2 nights before going to China, the hotel was conveniently located, only minutes to MRT station(subway station). Breakfast had options both Western and Asian foods. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Great stay.
