We checked in on 29th November and Checked out on 3rd December. Our stay was very comfortable. The staff was good & nice. Rooms were quite big than other hotels around. Sadly I did not have time to get into the pool but I was told that it's open for a swim 24hrs. Just next to the hotel there is a lot of Small food outlets & trust me the food was really good the best in Singapore... I will recommend this hotel to big families.

A pleasant surprise to open the curtains in my room and have pool view. I did have a swim, so refreshing after wondering around in Singapore's heat. My room was much bigger than I expected and cleaned very well. Hotel is dated but aren't most hotels. New wifi installed during my stay so it was 100 times better than the old system. All staff were lovely to me. Lots of noise from the corridors, people slamming doors and talking loudly was pretty annoying at times. Otherwise rooms had no outside noise at all, such as street noise. Fantastic food centre downstairs so you'll never go hungry.

Great location BUT this time lots of Chinese guests and VERY VERY noisy. Told reception about Indonesian smoking across the hall but nothing done. THIS WAS A NON SMOKING WING They need to do something about the smokers!!!!!

I booked this hotel through, the price is economical, though I felt it's not a decent place for family the perception has been changed once we checked into our hotel, the nearest MRT is 'paya labor' walkable for 600mts. They have 24hours food court in the ground floor you can get most of the cuisines like malai, Chinese, indian e.t.c. There is a 'miniso store' (japanese store) 200mts please visit this place for shopping with you can get things for very reasonable price. They offer free WiFi (it gets disconnected automatically after sometime) this is the only problem I faced. They clean the room daily, 24hour hot water facility, staff are very friendly they have knowledge about commuting locally.

This is my fourth visit to the Tristar and I will be using it for all my foreseeable visits to Singapore. Quite large rooms, comfortable bed, hot and cold at shower and basin in a spacious bathroom. Kettle, coffee and tea, a small fridge and a large pool are very nice additions. I have found the staff to be very helpful should you require an iron and board or anything out of the ordinary. The location has the benefit of the Eastern Wind foodhouse for cold beer and tasty food nearby. There is also the Alwandi restaurants right outside the door and the Haig St markets and restaurants if you want greater variety about 100 metres away. Heaps of supermarkets and shops to cover most needs with a five minute walk. All this at a very reasonable price by Singapore standards. Hard to beat.

A very convenient location for my needs and practically placed at the centre of activity. All restaurants, stores and shopping malls so close but most of all the hospitality has been great from the management and staff of the Hotel 81 Tristar! Great keep it up!

This is a good 3 star hotel located in a good location with handy food places and shops. There is a metro station 10 mins walk. The bedroom and bathroom were of a good size, clean and quiet. It has a good size pool. My only concern if the hotel was busy was possible noise as all the floors are timber.

We booked a Triple room for 4 nights for business trip. The room was spacious. There is a convenient store and restaurant with lots of choices next to the hotel. Only one room key can be issued. The bathtub is clogged for the first 2 nights even we asked for maintenance for twice, problem solved after the 3rd time maintenance. Overall is okay since we were out for work at 10am and back to hotel at 10pm

We were most impress with our booking in and the size of the rooms extremely large and clean, going in the Geyland area we were not shore as we had a 14 stop to get our next flight. Right next door a convenient store and next to that a wonderful eating hall AL WADI, with one hundred plus dishes to choose from. A $8.00 taxi to Bugs Street shopping... Hard to fault ....will book again.

We had an online reservation for this hotel and when we are about to check in, they asked us to wait for 30 minutes for the room to get ready. 30 minitues had passed and we are still waiting. We followed up and they told us to wait another 15 minutes. When I asked again, the one in the reception has the nerve to be rude to me. I am a paying customer and I know I should not be talked to like than. I don't know how long we waited but I think it's past an hour.
