Very helpful and pleasant staff. Room was spacious and very clean. Hotel is undergoing renovation so the gym had been squeezed into a smaller place and it was a bit noisy during the day.
Orbitz web site failed to let me know that this hotel was under major renovation when I booked. The noise from jack hammers from 10:00am through 6:00pm daily made it impossible to endure the noise from the guest room. The hotel provided free breakfast as a compensation for the noise. This hotel renovation is planned to last another 12 months. ORBITZ should under no circumstances recommend this hotel no matter what the discounted price being offered. Maybe the hotel will be just fine when renovations are completed, but it is impossible to stand the noise in the guest room during the day (9hrs). Hotel should be closed to bookings during the reconstruction, unless guests opt to stay away during daylight hours.
I had stayed at this hotel before.I really like this hotel. Location is very close to City hall MRT.I can walk to Clarke Quay in night time. It's about 800 meter from hotel to Clarke Quay.I think this hotel is near everywhere I want to go. Inside the hotel is very clean and service is fantastic.
The staff were very pleasant and professional at the reception and bell service. The best breakfast buffet we've had with many choices of food and fruits. Make your own omelette and coffee. Plus the staff at the buffet are all very responsive to our request. The room is big enough for the 2 of us and the wi-fi was very strong. I'm glad we can watch CNN and CNBC while here in Singapore. Purchase of the crystal club membership is a must if one wants to enjoy the additional perk of staying in this hotel.
Excellent all the way around, fantastic courteous staff, excellent amenities, close to everything, walking distance close! About a 20 min walk to the Singapore Flyer, Marina Bay Sands, Raffles City, and amazing food and shopping! A+++
Excellent location and staffs. Old hotel but still very comfortable.
This has been one of the best value stays I have experienced in a long while. The price was for an average 3 star hotel in the heart of a big city, but the amenities, although aging, are pristine and up to par of a four or even five star hotel. Service was great, and I struggle to find any complaint.
The location was great and the fact our conference was held in the same location made it great. No taxi fees and no issues with the rain. The intermitted electric surges in the hotel room was a real low. Power would go off of everything except the 'safety' lights for about 2 minutes and then roll back on. Not a big issue most of the time and EACH and EVERY time I called to report it, an electrician would arrive at my room, often after the situation had corrected itself. Missing a few minutes of TV was not a big deal. Being wet in the shower and having the bathroom go pitch black did concern me, The power rolled backed on as soon I got on a robe and made my way to the telephone so no need to call the front office again. This is the good point - outstanding lunch buffet. Amazing amount of food and most of it healthy. I'd stay again but if I had a power issues,I would ask for a new room asap instead of dealing with it each day.
The hotel brings all that one expects from this category, nothing exceptional but a solid very good experience. Excellent value for money, a strong consideration when one has to balance budget vs. convenience.
The good: helpful staff, fantastic location, very clean and pleasant atmosphere. The mediocre: small but functional gym (only one elliptical), limited channel selection on the tv, and no movies at all. The disappointing: the gym apparently closes at 10pm, but this not posted anywhere. I wouldn't mind if I knew, but it is unpleasant to be kicked out in the middle of a workout without warning. Also, on their website, it says "free internet, breakfast and laundry services." What that means is some rooms include the price of internet (but not always), breakfast is available, but overpriced, and laundry services are appallingly expensive. I find their statement misleading. Also, the internet was almost unusable it was so slow. It had a hard time loading images, let alone anything with animations or video, so I could not get tv or movies online, either. I was there for 10 days, so I know it was not just a one-day issue, too. I was still happy overall, but there were a few minor annoyances, like the lack of entertainment due to very limited tv channels and unusable internet, that one does not expect at a 5-star hotel.
Bit worn out. Staff have the wrong attitude. Not helpful at all. Maintenance is poor in the rooms. Lots of mold in grout in the shower which unacceptable in a hotel that claims ro be five stars. Matress too hard. The best feature of this hotel is the location.
The staff was friendly and very helpful, in every possible way - from providing suggestions and directions to offering computer assistance. The consierge even researched our bus connections to travel to the tree top walk. The printed route was waiting for us when we returned from breakfast. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had a nice city forest view. We were within comfortable walking distance to Clark Quay and the MRT. Just around the corner were a number of eateries, including several casual and fine dining establishments in Raffles City. We were very pleased with our hotel stay and would recommend.
Wonderful staff, with a great location a few edges need updating. The food prices too costly but typical for Singapore we would stay again.
This was a nice hotel. It was clean and nice. The lobby is impressive, and all seemed well-maintained.When I first arrived in Singapore, it was 1am, and I was not prepared for the humidity. My bed almost seemed wet. I was able to crank the A/C so that it got comfortable. The next day, I took a long walk to the Flyer (about 20 minutes), and that walk will make you sweat in Singapore. Afterwards, I hung out in the pool for a while. The pool is nice and has places for you to recline. It feels great in the humidity. My work site was right off of the Metro, so it was nice that the City Hall Metro station is a block and a half away. SunTec is a 10 minute walk. Raffles is about 3 blocks away. The concierge was great too. I really enjoyed talking with [...].Incidentally, you'll have to pay for Internet, which I think was $100 for the week. No wireless options, only wired. The TV is HD, but no HD signal.
