Staff at the reception, Syazwan Shahrom and Syahidah, left a good impression on us. They were patient, cheerful, and calm handling our enquiry and requests, even on a busy day where other customers awaited their turn. We want to say "Thank You", and wish them well in their career in the hospitality industry.
Would love to say 2 of the staff at oceanview by the name of salamat and faizal or faisal was extra nice and caring. They gave us directions to places and we wanted to go via buses and the train. Because we were on a tight budget travel. And we didnt want to cab everywhere. They even shared stories of singapore and even told us where to get cheap food or even the nearest shopping center to go shopping and all. Would definitely come back to oceanview because of this 2 guys really cool people. Good job frangrance you need more people like them.
Very inexpensive hotel. I found the reason when I got into the room: No closet, no clothes hanger, no fridge, no hand towel, shower head on the toilet wall, thin wall, crying girls in the evening :-(. But, silent after midnight, and convenience store (7d/w, 24h/d) and delicious restaurants are just beyond the corner :-).
The twin sharing room (Rm 407) has no windows. The previous room assigned (501) has a windiw but was next to the generator/engine room. The light between the beds were out-of-order and maintenance took 5 days to replace the bulb and that was after I informed the reception 3 times. The toilet seat does not fit the seat. Generally, Reception and Housekeeping staff are courteous, friendly and helpful with the exception of a Malay lady who was on duty at the Reception on the morning of Sat 11 June, she behaves and looks like she is attending a wake. Two items in excellent working condition are the shower head and aircon.
Small clean rooms - paid extra for a window but it was worth it. Because of the size you don't get everything you hope for (no wardrobe or fridge) The rather compact bathroom is set up like a wet-room but not done properly, not only is the floor not sloped t assist draining but the drain itself is not sunk into the floor. This meant that we (my wife and I) went through many towels as we were having to dry the floor twice a day when we were finished, Staff were more than helpful when we had to report inconsiderate guests... First someone had been smoking and it can't have just been one cigarette, the whole floor was stinking. They had even left their room door ajar and had gone out. A air cleaner was set up in the hallway and this put this right. And then the guys in the next room talking until 2AM, We were given the same room but 2 floors up which meant more light was getting in and the layout provided a little more floor space. The between-room door had a gap underneath so any noise seems very loud. No facilities for food but there are 3 convenience stores and 5 or 6 restaurants within 2 minutes walk. This may sound like a bad review but we enjoyed our stay, I can't remember staying in a hotel where some other guests haven't been so loud as to be heard in our room. I guess that is the way of the world nowadays, some people think that they will be quiet so as not to disturb other guests and some people just don't care about anyone but themselves.
This was truly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The first room we were given had floor to celling black mold on every inch of the wooden door panel in the bathroom - the bathroom is the shower. You shower directly over the toilet. The staff were not polite about giving us a new room, but in the end they did. The second room had some, but less, mold. The windows don't open - the rooms smell which they try to cover with strong (horrible) fragrance sprays. Otherwise the room was incredibly dirty - stains on the sheets and the plastic (!) mattress cover, which was uncomfortable to sleep on. Our last night the breaker box in the room malfunctioned and started loudly and continuously buzzing starting at 2:00 am - the front desk said they would fix it in the morning. The $10/day wifi is incredibly show and unreliable. It's also disingenuous to call it "ocean view" when there is no view of the ocean.
Dear Fragrance West Coast n Ocean View You wow me each time. Stayed at either every month, at least one night. The staff are very helpful, whether they are front line or backroom people. They make the stay pleasant. My stays have always been sweet n relaxed, perhaps it is because of the friendly way I am always received when I check in. I believe first impressions count and they matter for a pleasant stay. Keep up the good work. Staff at Fragrance West Coast - thanks for the wonderful stays in Nov n Dec. I really had a cool experience.
Located at Pasir Panjang road and lots of nearby eateries and near to the bus stop Front Desk are very hospitable and very friendly Wifi cnnection a bit slow but its ok Rooms are small but i can say its comfortable as its very clean and well maintain
I visited Singapore in December 2013 with my husband n my daughter. We actually intended to overnight in JB but since we spent so much time meetings with old friends until late night we then decided to just check in at nearby hotel we encountered after our supper. To my surprise the room was so small with 1 queen bed just less than 1ft from the walls and NO WINDOWS and yet cost us SGD168 per night! Gosh, i felt like staying in a box. If i were to compare the hotel we stayed in JB which only cost us RM138nett with spacious room, 2 super single beds, nice ocean view and came with complimentary wifi and complimentary breakfast for 2! We are visiting Spore again next month during Christmas and yes, this fragrance hotel will definitely be out of our list of preferred hotels.
I stayed in this hotel two overnights, I chose this hotel because very close to NUS around 10 minutes walks. The hotel has a small, basic, and simple room with no refrigerator and only-shower bathroom (no bathtub). This hotel has no public space / common room (room only hotel) and no free internet access. I usually check the mattress underneath the cover right after check-in, I found one-two long-hair-losses, it seems that the bedding was not properly cleaned. Overall is very expensive but the front staff was very nice and helpful.
