Backpackers' Inn Chinatown

Just needed a cheap place to stay for our 3-day dragonboat competition at Marina Bay. It's a good 15 min walk for us from this place to the race site. We've stayed a couple of times in Chinatown and we try to stay in different hostels. Nothing fancy about this place. We got a private bedroom with A/C, cabinet, dresser and stool. No windows. TB/shower are for sharing. We used the ref and got unlimited refills of water (cheaper than buying in 711) and we enjoyed using their washer and dryer for 2 days :) If you're not to keen about cleanliness and stuff, it's ok to stay here for the night...

Booked this as a cheap option in Singapore with some friends. Mould on the walls, pokey rooms with no windows, unserviced a/c and showers that stink of urine. The only thing this place has going for it is the location. Avoid unless absolutely necessary

As we travelled in couple and didn't want to stay so long in Singapore, this Inn was good choice. We stayed twice, one in bedroom with backyard window and other time in very tiny room with bunkbed faced to street. Beds weren't luxurious, but rooms, shared toilets and showers were clean and quite, AC and fan always work well. They will charge you deposit for room's card and for towels if you need them. Rooms are at different building (3m) from reception, but dorms are situated just behind reception. Actually they are just many bunkbeds separated only by sheets. That was new for us. Wi-Fi worked very well. The biggest advantage of this logging is price and location-very central, many facilities in walking distance, like food markets, MRT and bus stops, really easy to reach. Ideal for modest short stay 1-2 nights.

I visit here because of my parents recommendation before, if u need budget hostel but like home u should be choose it.. Only $50 / 550k per night u can take 2 person in the room.. But some room so smelly, i don't know what smell is it.. If u go to travelling in Singapore, this place is enough to visit..

Because of the water interruption from our place, we booked this Inn as it is a walking distance from us. We got this thru Booking.com as the cheapest. Only 50 SGD per night. Surprisingly, this is great! Good location, near the Chinatown Souvenir shops, MRT, Temple, and other shopping area. Next door is a very nice Chinese Restaurant. Our room is located on the Level 2 (near the road). At night, it's a bit noisy because you can hear the people drinking under. Toilet is clean. Not so bad at all for $50!

The location is central and easy to get to from the airport by MRT. The room was very small but gratefully the aircon worked. The share shower and toilet were underwhelming. The "front desk/reception" was in another building and the staff unremarkable. Not rude but disinterested. OK for one night but not more.

The location was very convenient because near the LRT station and there are many Chinese restaurants nearby. We booked the private room for 3 persons, the room was small given the cheap price but comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

As most travellers are aware Singapore is not the. He's pest city's to get to or to find accommodation that doesn't agitate your budget. After a couple of days looking for somewhere to rest our heads in Singapore we finally agreed on Backpackers Chinatown, and I'm glad we did. It's very centrally located, walking distance to all the major shopping centres and the local food is amazing. The place is clean and the staff are friendly too.

Although there was a bit of miscommunication between my group and our local booking/travel agent, generally, I can recommend Backpackers' Inn. I brought in a group of 15 tourists all the way from the Tacloban City, Philippines for an Incentive Trip. The rooms fits our need - a place to stay with a decent and clean comfort rooms with very good internet connection, easy access to MRT stations and of course, Chinatown - where you can get a good deal for souvenirs. For those budget travellers, Backpackers' Inn is the best place to stay.

this hostel can't thrill you in any way. it is not very cheap but it is in a very good location and it offers a double bedroom that we needed for our stay much cheaper than any hotel in that ridiculously expensive city of Singapore... the conditions are really minimum. the double bedroom (with one double bed) had nothing else than a double bed and well working an aircon and window and was very very small. the building outside looks just very beautiful and is just minutes away from the nearest metro station but inside...it is a different story. if you don't care about facilities and clean and fresh look, but want a prime location right in Chinatown - stay here! There were many families with young children staying there.
