The hotel is a ways off from the main road. You're cut off from many restaurants and small shops, where the same items (water, beer, food) are half the price. There is a feeling of being in a compound. The place is single story with quite a bit of sprawl. Walking anywhere requires passing several meters of incarceration grade off white painted brick. You have to walk a bit to get a tuk tuk or have the front desk call, which can be a wait, or not be available at all. The general crowd is very quiet and it often feels like any sound you make is the only sound in the whole place. The main dining room is open air with a roof. Plenty of mosquitos. The food was not bad and the morning coffee was very good. Staff is generally attentive. The pool is a nice size but curiously, many of the green pool towels were heavily frayed. I stayed in 5 hotels during my trip. This was the only one I would never go back to. And two of them cost more than this place.
