From the girl serving drinks at the pool, the chambermaids, the reception staff, the restaurant staff and of course Alti in the cocktail bar, all of the staff made our stay one to remember. We look forward to returning soon. Great location to explore Sienna and Tuscany. The reception staff always had great suggestions for places to go for a good day trip. Nice walk to Siena or 10 minutes on the regular bus service. Even a taxi was quick and not expensive. Nice room in the annexe with a view over the countryside. Rooms were spotless with fresh towels everyday. Plenty of choice at breakfast. Good daytime snacks and a good menu in the evening in the restaurant. Great to return late in the afternoon to enjoy a cocktail as the sun goes down with views over Siena from the terrace.
Girls trip to Italy and ended it with a stay at your hotel! The views are beautiful and the staff are amazing!!! Wish we could have stayed for a month! From the moment you check in until the time you leave your staff treated us like royalty. Can’t wait to come back and spend more time enjoying the sights of Siena !
This looked like it should have been a good hotel from what the travel agent had told us and its 4-stars. But it had several problems. First it is a long walk to the centre of the cit,y some minutes NOT the 20 on the adverts. The breakfast was poor for a 4-star hotel. It was the same every day with only eggs and bacon on the hot tray, and too few savouries. We were in one of the outhouses and it was extremely noisy and so sleeping was difficult. However, it did have a good pool, the rooms were nicely appointed, the staff very attentive and the bar, barman and the bar nibbles were all excellent. So all said and done not a disaster but I would never stay there again.
Absolutely a wonderful hotel, great dining room for breakfast and dinner. beautiful grounds and lovely staff. The hotel rooms were spacious and clean with updated bathroom . The staff were extremely gracious and helpful. I would highly recommend this for your stay in Sienna. Thank you for making my group of 11 women a memorable one. The hotel had an beautiful terrace where you can begin or end your day overlooking rolling hills and a scenic view you won't forget. Thankyou to the staff at Garden Sienna.
We stayed just one night at this very nice hotel so did not have the opportunity to take advantage of all it had to offer. Clean spacious rooms in the annex, ground floor rooms do not have a view which might be an issue if staying for a week but offered us a quiet night's accommodation. Staff efficient and helpful. Generous quantities of tapas and a reasonable evening meal for a large hotel with high occupancy. Breakfast good. Generally a good experience.
Several reviewers have commented that the main building is preferable to the annex. I‘d beg to differ. We are on a hiking holiday and appreciated the shady annex room (193) surrounded by trees and away from the bustle of the villa itself. Two excellent nights‘ sleep, woken by birdsong through our open window instead of by the slamming of car doors on the hopelessly overcrowded car park in front of the villa. Our room was simply furnished with good hard beds, clean and in good repair. We ate at the top restaurants in Siena, so can‘t comment on the dinners here, but breakfast was up to local standards even if the predominance of cakes, tarts, meat and cheese, and the absence of decent bread, doesn‘t really appeal to me. The terrace was huge and a great place to sit and read, though the views of the old town are less good here than those we enjoyed on our hikes. The centre of the old town (Campo) is a fairly flat half-hour walk from the hotel. Good staff.
The location just outside the centre of town is perfect - easy for the bus to take You on several wine-tours. The hotel and rooms need a refreshment/renovation. We had a jr-suite in the main-building and it was clean but some "old". Breakfast was not good, too many guests at same time and the breakfast were poor. X-a plus to a nice bar and friendly staff. The pool was good but to short opening-times. Free parking!
We stayed for three nights recently. We have been to Sienna a couple of times before but stayed a 20 minute drive away. It is better to be within walking distance. The weather was ok so we walked in and back a couple of times a day. Great for the figure if you are eating all the great stuff on offer. Breakfast was good but very busy as the restaurant doesn't have enough tables inside for everyone at once. Great if it's sunny as there are many tables and chairs outside. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening but we not very impressed so walked in to the town for the next two nights. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly but the waiting staff were just too busy. Our room was basic but comfortable though the bathroom was small. Unfortunately we overlooked a grass bank that was higher than our windows. I'm sure there are great rooms with fabulous views in the main building.
We chose this hotel after reading the reviews. We had a car so needed somewhere with good parking and we were not disappointed. As suggested by previous reviewers we booked a room in the main building and were very happy to have a view of Siena. The staff were all fantastic, especially the barman who was always happy. The spirit measures are out if this world and not expensive. All afternoon and evening there is a bar full of nibbles, cheese, peppers etc which really filled a hole. We found it a long walk into the city but there is a bus every half an hour. If returning to Siena we would use this hotel again.
Set in beautiful grounds overlooking Siena. Only downside...paper thin walls. Like sleeping in a tent on a busy campsite. No decent sleep for 9 nights 😫Staff are great, best bar nibbles ever. A great base to travel into Siena and the surroundings areas.
