The rooms are spacious and clean but a little bit old fashioned. The breakfast selection had compared to other places we stayed at rather few continental options to offer. (I'm happy to try all kinds of local food, but my stomach isn't ready for a savoury noodle soup for breakfast. My bad.) The fact that we were the only customers in the restaurant for dinner should have warned us. The food there wasn't great at all. There are much better places for dinner in the Pub Street area.
The hotel is clean, comfortable and is nicely decorated. The staff are great, super friendly. They were keen to speak English or keen to teach me Khmer. They were also very helpful organising things such as transport. Definitely worth the stay
I booked this hotel because it had a great offer online. It's located a 5 min walk of the main street and a classic style older hotel. It has an amazing and very clean pool. The staff was attentive. The rooms were huge and the bathroom was one of the highlights of the rooms. The hallway noise can be heart but after getting up early for sunrise at Angkor I was able to sleep like a baby anyway. The rooms are being serviced daily and are very clean. To get to pub street you can take a tuk tuk for 2 USD. The provided airport pick up and arranged for a tuk tuk to drive me back upon departure. Upon request they make you take away bfast for your early rise trip to angkor.
The Restaurant is pictured nicely but the real experience was a bit disappointing, the room given to us was not what was displayed on booking.com, where the staff told that what was showed in a double bed room was a deluxe suite. The air-condition was not working properly and the staff was polite yet lacking hospitality. The rooms were yet bigger and cleaner but bear with some reptiles in your room like lizards.
We stayed here for 4 nights. We arrived from Hanoi late evening on the first day and had been told by the hotel that we would be met by a taxi and transported to the hotel free of charge. However, there was no driver and we had to grab our own taxi costing $10. We did wait about half an hour before doing this but it had taken well over an hour to get through immigration at Siem Reap airport ( be warned!) so we guessed the driver had thought we weren't on the plane. We never did get to the bottom of this but the hotel said they would pay for our return to the airport. We were very tired and hungry and a little stressed after all of this and, when we were shown to our room, we were very disappointed. We had booked a 'superior' room, but this room was much smaller than expected, smelled frousty, was dirty and had a damp stain in the corner! Because of our negative experiences in the country so far, we decided we had to complain and possibly move somewhere else. (Although it was very late by now!)/. At reception they were so polite and gave us another room straight away - a suite! Things improved from then on. The staff were delightful, so humble, gentle and polite. They served us breakfast when we were late the next day, the lunch we had one day was lovely. They gave us a takeaway breakfast on the morning we went to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat.To be honest the hotel is tired and the location is up a dusty, dirty road but, it has character and we couldn't help but love its quirkiness. Finally, it was amazing value for money at a $100 for 4 nights plus extras.
This hotel is situated just out of the Old Market precinct, set back from the main road its its own little oasis. Its in a quiet area, which means its quiet and laid back. The hotel is nice and the rooms are good as well. We had a 3 share room and really liked our room and the amenities the hotel provided. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed at this hotel both times when we were in Siem Reap and they even let us store a bag when we were away! To get to Old Market its around $1USD each person one way, this got pretty expensive especially if you are planning on visiting old market often (for meals etc). However thats expected. The breakfast buffet was awesome and they had a great egg chef!!! Had a great time!!
Friendly & helpful staff, great swimming pool, the room was cleaned, breakfast has many choices they always provide the hot breakfast, in special, restaurant staff always look around you for take care their service. Reasonable room rate we highly recommend others to stay Lin Ratanak Angkor Hotel.
excellent service of staff, nice quiet location, fantastic pool too cool off after temples discount on food, very very helpfull staff, staff can arrange everything for you, near city centre, very good price-quality
Celebrated Christmas at Cambodia with my fellow alumni (UTAR). The staff served us chilled orange juice upon our arrival. The best drink to quench thirst as Cambodia is quite hot in December. The room itself is huge with 1 double bed and 1 single bed. Hair dryer is provided and remember to bring adapter for phone charging. The bathroom is a bit dreary as the wall is painted in black. Excellent breakfast buffet and the chef makes the best scrambled eggs! At night, it was relaxing to lay beside the pool with a bottle of chilled cider or beer (USD 2.50). The staffs were very friendly and I would like to say thank you again to the hotel staff for helping us to post our postcards [Postcards can be bought everywhere (USD 1) but stamps must be bought from post office]. The only downside: Cigarette smoke can be smelled in the room. Extra tips while shopping in Cambodia: - Bargaining is a must. They charged foreigner with a much higher price. - Cheaper souvenirs can be bought at Night Market and from vendors around tourist attractions (Angkor Wat & etc). - Cheap food and beer at Pub Street. - Remember to bring smaller notes (USD 1, 5, 10, 20) as not every vendor have change for those big notes. - Souvenirs: T-shirt & baggy pants (~USD 2-3), scarfs (~USD 4 and less), magnets (lesser than USD 1)
We had a wonderful stay. While the lobby area was not very impressive, once we got to the room - we were a family of 4 and had a great apartment with 2 bathrooms :) . the restaurant was decent, the breakfast was acceptable but more vegetarian options would be great. the swim pool area is small but quiet and nice. you can have a candle lit dinner by the pool the staff was very courteous and helpful, Mr Vannal at the front desk helped us plan our trips, arranged for vehicles, helped us find a doc when my wife was unwell. Mr Chola was bright and energetic and drove us to an from the airport. they allowed us a late check out and made the stay wonderful. recommended for a comforting budget stay
