We came here on our honeymoon and had a really relaxing and enjoyable time. The room was beautiful with a really cool design and a nice view. The buffet breakfast which was included was awesome with a lot of delicious food! We usually spent our time on the beach which of course was really hot! The drinks were somewhat expensive and it would be nice if they were selling drinks on the beach instead of having to get up and go to the bar. (They would have sold more). The sauna and turco were a little dissappointing and it would be nice if there was free water. We ate at the asian restaurant one night and were not very impressed with the food at all. The restaurant at the beach was where we ate for lunch and it had nice food for a reasonable price. The shuttle to Dahab is kind of annoying because the timing doesnt let you spend much time there. We didnt like the city very much and only went there one night. They were a little rude when we were leaving because they did not drop us off at the bus station in the shuttle as they did in the morning. It would have been possible if they just took a parallel road. We loved our time here at this beautiful hotel and will definitely remember it forever!
We stayed there 7 days- it was relaxing and nice vacation. We can recomend this hotel.
Got a great deal because of low tourism in Egypt at the moment. Very well-run hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful while not being intrusive. About a 10 minute/ $ 4-5 taxi ride from town. Nice respite from the busyness of town, where we went for dinner each night and went to for adventures. Snorkeling off dock quite good compared to the rest of the world; snorkeling even better in town (Red Sea is amazing generally). Dive shop more expensive than in town, but very professional and friendly. Overall, a great place to stay for R & R.
Relaxed on the beach. Climbed Mount Sinai. This was one of the best trips I have ever taken.
Excellent hotel in a superb location. Stayed in a deluxe seaview room that was well worth the additional spend. The outdoor shower was brilliant. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially the pool staff - my sunglasses have never been so clean!Quite expensive for food and drink around the hotel but after all it was a first class hotel and therefore you do expect to pay that bit extra. We ate out in Dahab town most nights where there are plenty of restaurants along the sea front to choose from. I would definitely recommend Ali Babas. A really relaxing destination, perfect chill out. Not the hotel if you are looking for a wild time. Will be better once a full spa and health club is open.
Great hotel , staff very helpful,,,,,a cab ride into Dahab if you want a variety of restaurants....also in Dahab you can find some tour packages which are not available at the hotel
We were traveling the wonderful country of Egypt for two weeks. We decided on Dahab because of its laid back feel and diving. After the hour/hour and a half ride from the airport, we arrived to Le Meridien and were all blown away with its beautiful decor and artictecture. The staff was very friendly and brought us welcome guava juice as we checked in. We were just so excited as we were walking the grounds. So beatiful, mountains behind the resort and the Red Sea in the front. The pools were amazing and kept soooo clean. The place was pretty much empty, so this next part was quite confusing to us. We booked on Orbitz and chose the selection for King size bed. When they took us to our rooms (we were with another couple as well), both rooms had two twin size beds. We told them that we had booked kings and they said, well can you show us your print out? So I found my orbitz print out and unfortunately that part of the detail did not make it on the print out. So I was like well do you have any king rooms available. He said if you had reserved it then yes, but we do not now. So confused, I said well I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have chosen twin beds and told him this and it just kept going back and forth. You would think a 5 star resort would just want to accomodate you and especially because there were barely any other guests! (Later we ended up counting 15 guests in all, so serisouly, there was no one there!) (off season) So then I said fine, can we just pay extra and get the king size bed rooms (normally who cares, but we had been staying in some yuck hotels and this part of the trip was our splurge). He said we don't have any available, even though earlier said they did.(Mind you this place was HUGE and only 15 guests, how could there not be two king size bed rooms!?) So they ended up upgrading our room to a deluxe sea room view with outdoor shower and just pushed the two twin beds together. We were glad that they were trying to make up for it, but so confused to why this took so long to even do. Anyways, it was crazy and confusing, but they made up for it and the resort was so beautiful! The breakfast included in the morning was very tasty, lots of selection, great service. We ate lunch one other time on the resort, just sandwiches. We ate in the city the rest of the time. We arranged for a taxi to pick us up each day. We played volleyball and their onsite guy was great, we kicked butt when he was on our team! I can tell you enough how pretty the resort was and how CLEAN they kept it. It was a great stay!!
