A good hotel in a nice location beside the river. The service is nice but most the employees doesn't speak English ... but anyway we can find out how to communicate. The breakfast is OK for the people who likes a good Chinese traditional one. The rooms are nice and very clean. There are some other good services available, stores, tourist guide desk, nice swiming pool, fitness ... definitely the best in this region.
That's a very beautiful hotel.... Good service, good food and much more... I think that for all travelers who come to this hotel will greatly appreciate the warmth and service. There is every comfort ... gym, swimming pool and much more
Room was quite and clean. Staff was nice. Check in was fast. Check out a bit slow. Most staff English was okay Hot water takes a while to come out Bed and bedding are nice Bathroom clean
The receptionists do not have of good English and were reluctant to give a receipt for the cost of the room. As a business traveller I need receipts to claim expenses. Only 2 receptionists were available at check out to deal with many departing guests. At first, the receptionist claimed that the umbrella was missing from my room so they could not give me a receipt. I then offered to go back up to my room to find the umbrella for them. They then said that they had found the umbrella but they had no more receipts as they had all been used. I began to shout at them to say I must have a receipt and had a train to catch. The embarrassment of a foreigner shouting worked and they finally printed a receipt for me. What is is going on - is this some sort of scam?
Hotel's assistant managers were really helpful and all the reception personnel gave excellent service during our stay at the hotel in the end of March. Especially the assistance managers did their best to make our stay in Shaoguan enjoyable by solving practical problems we had. Also the hotel spaces and our room were comfortable and of high quality. Room was tidy and spacious. The only problem was the traffic noice on the river side of the hotel.
What a difference in this Ramada to the one in Shenzhen. A large spacious and luxurious feeling lobby area welcomes you and the rooms are no less grand. A large bathroom and shower, new linen and facilities and a free wifi that worked all over the hotel. This must be a new property. Breakfast was good – plenty of choice for both Chinese and Western tastes. Location is good too being right in the middle of town.
We were going to Shaoguan to visit our hometown. While this was not a big metropolitan city. It was surprising to find this large hotel in the center of it all. Here's the highlights: PRO: - Large rooms that had comfortable beds - In-door heating that works!!! Something that not a lot of small town hotels do well in China - Room was well kept - Had a nice set of tea, coffee etc - Has a underground passage way connecting the hotel to a large shopping mall with plenty restaurants, a grocery store and a large theater - Nice assortment of food in their breakfast buffet Con: - Outdoor swimming pool that's not heated, so you can't go for a swim in the winter - Breakfast buffet could use come quality
This is the only and a truly international class 4/5 star hotel in Shaoguan. Good size room with all amenities one expects in a hotel of this class. Front desk folks are very professional and thorough. Breakfast buffet was huge, Chinese & Western, and terrific. Free wi-fi throughout the property. About a 20-25 minute taxi ride to the high-speed rail station.
We booked for Labour Day Festival and despite the hordes of Chinese tourists (unavoidable during national holidays) we were very impressed by the Ramada and its' staff. ROOM: We had booked the cheapest room, and were very surprised to discover our room was on the 9th floor, the ''apartment'' floor. The room was extremely spacious with a kitchenette area, couches, great comfortable bed and a nice bathroom (no bath sadly). The room was perfect and great value for money. No noise or other complaints worth noting. FOOD: The complimentary breakfast was amble - very standard fare but still well stocked given the volume of people in the restaurant each morning. Both western and Asian foods available. The room service was incredibly cheap (48RMB + 15% for a club sandwich) however the fries came cold and the Nasi Goreng left a lot to be desired. In all though the room service was fairly efficient and tasty. AMENITIES: The hotel swimming pool is lovely too and features deck chairs and tables for lounging in the sun. They also have a gym, private cards rooms, chess room and other amenities such as ping pong, badminton etc. LOCATION: Very central to Shaoguan East Train and bus stations (5 minutes walk across the river), making trips to Danxia Mountain Park very accessible. The concierge was also very helpful (I believe his name was Michael) in booking our return train tickets as well as advising us on buses and taxis. Many thanks again Michael. Shopaholics will be pleased to hear there is two big shopping malls adjacent to the hotel too with many different eateries. The spa attached the hotel on the 7th floor is almost certainly a brothel however the 'Korean massage' (212RMB) my girlfriend and I had was still reasonably good despite it being obvious the masseuses had no formal training. PRICE: Exceptional value for money. Highly recommended and would stay there again. The staff are all fantastic.
Quite new property in the center of the city, shopping areas are around. Lobby lounge and bar are a bit quite but the "all day dining" is a real nice restaurant, worth for breakfast and dinner -buffet. Most Chinese travelers here, most staff is not able to talk English- but very friendly and helpful! Nice pool and fitness area, as well quite nice meeting facilities.
