Non Smoking room with ashtray?

Despite a request for non smoking room, the room with signs that state non smoking, it had an ashtray and smelled of smoke.

No Big Deal

Not much to tell. Had 20 layover (my choice), wanted to sleep before flying on to Bangkok. Vienna was close to Pudong, $15USD cab, couldn’t arrange free pickup, got free shuttle back. Slept well. Disappointed no cold beer upon arrival! Perfect shower, hot water, good TV. For my iPad, telephone, wifi didn’t show up until next morning. Overall, just what I needed.

Evening staff great,morning staff not so much.

Checking into the hotel, after being picked up at the (PVG) airport in a timely manner, was well-coordinated. Actually, easy. In the morning staff was not as helpful or responsive as one might wish. Hotel personnel allowed 'hack' taxi driverer to sit in the drive, at the front door,claiming to be the one ordered by the front desk for me. Only problem was that he demanded 20RMB more than the front desk person said the fare would be--a valet was 'in on it' and tried to hi-jack my luggage and put it into the taxi's trunk. I had to make a lot of noise before getting my luggage back. I asked that someone from the reception desk come to my assistance but was denied.(Yes, I even yelled across the lobby) About 3 minutes later the taxi that had actually been ordered arrived, got me to the airport in a timely manner and the fare was 8 RMB less than I had been told to expect.

This hotel is better than I expected. The room is fairly clean and comfortable. The breakfast is probably more suitable for Chinese than westerners. There is a supermarket right next door which opens very early in the day and you can buy grocery and local Shanghai food there. If you are looking for a place to stay a night to catch flight next day, this hotel is a good choice and it is not expensive.

There are many much nicer hotels near PVG

The location is not as convinient as it appears on Google map and is in a not nice neighborhood. The hotel is run down and shows little resemblence with the photos on Expedia website. Breakfast does include some options but comparing to breakfast in the other 3 hotels I stayed during this trip, it's a joke. WIFI was out for the whole day, I had to opt to check out way early so I can use WIFI in airport. For fairness, my guest room is fairly clean but I am sure I can get that level of cleaness and a whole lot more for the same price.

A Good Hotel

Overall, a good hotel when flying in or out of Shanghai. Friendly and helpful staff, many employees can speak English, rooms are clean, a very good Chinese breakfast, and complimentary shuttle service is a big plus.

Clean, quiet, comfortable, with excellent and friendly staff and a nice breakfast buffet besides - I will plan to return when I am in Amsterdam next.

Welcome to traditional chinese smelling hotel.

Very basic hotel. Even not close to the airport. Service limited. Nobody speaks English. Typical old stylish chinese smelling rooms.

Short stay pre flight from Shangai

Very short stay as I checked in a 2am and out by 6am for early flight out of Shanghai. I did not notice until checkin that they have 4 hour rates but that would have been ideal. There is local food very close and airport is only 10mins via the free shuttle or very cheap via TAXI.

A clean hotel

We stayed for 5 nights. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a grocery store near by and several restaurants near by. The hotel is worth the money we paid. The free breakfast was good and the hotel is only 15 minutes from the airport by hotel shuttle.

Nice hotel near Pudong airport

Our stay was cut short by a late incoming flight from Bangkok. We arrived about 2am and departed at 9am. Breakfast included, but we didn't have time to eat. Cab ride from Pudong airport about $10. Free shuttle on return to airport. I think we were upgraded to a more spacious room when we requested non-smoking. Over all a nice place to stay near the airport. Would stay again.

The website said that they do laundry service but they don't . Room was OK the lobby and elevator smelled like cigarettes the breakfast was very unappetizing. The breakfast area was full of leftovers on the floor.

Terrible smell in bathroom

In the bathroo, the smell is terrible, per my experiences in American Standard, they may not install the trap for drain properly or the trap does not work properly. There were not safety belts at the back seats, and the driver did not ask the passangers to fasten the safety belt.
