Have stayed several times. Very comfortable. Recommend you upgrade to club level which includes breakfast and access to the lounge. Staff is friendly and hotel is very clean. Dining in room service is also good.
I stayed there twice, one is in the end of Oct. 2017, the other is end of Nov. 2017. The housekeeping is horrible of providing the service. One night after shower, my wife found there is a "wet" (yes! it's wet!) pillow cloth scrolled well and stuffed in her luggage. We promptly call the management team of the hotel and they committed us they would have a investigation on the case. However, several days passed, they can't give me a convinced explanation of why the pillow cloth is in the luggage, and keeps telling me that their housekeeping claimed they didn't do this. As a common standard of the hotel business, this is not tolerable case as the guest's luggage is touched by hotel staff. And seems the hotel management team doesn't think so... My second stay, I left a green tea bag and traditional Chinese medicine in min bar after I checked out one day earlier than my scheduled stay in the morning. I was aware of these two things I left behind and called the hotel immediately in the afternoon. The hotel staff replied my they will check it for me and in their system, the room is not actually checked out as they assume my wife will stay for another night. However, after couple minutes later, the hotel called me and replied they didn't see anything except the snacks and drinks in the mini bar. This is unacceptable answer, how come these two stuff are vanished... I reflected this to the hotel management. I got the answer is no body saw the things I mentioned and the hotel GM replied me email says the housekeeping staff has been worked for the hotel for many years, blah, blah, blah... This is quite insulting as the GM implies their customer is lying... And yet as expected, no explanation on why these two things are vanished... I saw two issues in my bad experience, first, is hotel staff will touch customer's personal belongings. Second, the attitude of how hotel management team dealing with the case.
I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights as i was travelling with a group of 94 people. The group members and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The hotel also has an Indian Chef and he was very helpful. He made some special Indian dishes for our group. The breakfast spread is big and has a lot of options for vegetarian and others. The hotel is very conveniently located on the main road with two malls next to it and a Family Mart which is opened for 24 hours. Rooms are spacious and very nicely designed to give more space for guests to relax. Bathroom is also spacious.
It is a nice hotel with great service. It takes around 10min walking to the nearest tube station and 55min drive to Pudong Airport. If you are going to visit any company in this area, it is a good choice. The room is large, warm and quiet, the bed is comfortable. The staffs are helpful, especially in the lounge. Vicki and Esaly showed their professional service and always keep smile. The breakfast is good, hotel offers different option for customer. The total value of the hotel stays in standard level. Sometimes the room rate might reach an unreasonable level, but my stay is fine. It can be a good choice in off-peak season.
I'd expect for a hotel bearing a reputable brand in one of the largest global hospitality groups should adhere to its global service standard, if not standing out among its peers. However, Renaissance Pudong came a bit short of such expectation in my recent visit. The first night when we checked in, we found the room wasn't properly cleaned up: many handprints on the mirror in the bedroom and a big piece of broken glass hazardously left on the bathroom floor. The shower stall had quite heavy leakage, and almost caused a mini flood in the bathroom. The next day hotel staff did help us change the room, which was noticeably tidier. But we still observed some similar shower stall leak (though smaller). In both rooms, I also noticed they were not quite sound-proof. Next door guests could be heard talking overnight. I understand some guests could be inconsiderately loud. Nevertheless it still left me wondering about the quality of the room construction. The breakfast buffet offered decent selection and food variety. However it seemed the staff were rather inexperienced. Especially on the New Year's Day morning, the guest flow was heavier and the staff were obviously overwhelmed and disorganised to cope with the situation, which left bunch of guests frustrated both in and outside of the restaurant. Overall, I must regretably say the experience is a bit disappointing.
If I need to stay in Shanghai I always choose this hotel (since 2012). The location is great and the service is top. All the rooms are very clean and mordern. In the restaurant you find also a large choice of Chinese and European dishes.
This is a very nice hotel near attractions with a great service. The rooms are great with nice amenities included. The staff is very helpful. The restaurant has a western style food that can make you feel at home.
I stayed here for a just over 2 weeks and everyday it was a pleasant experience! Rooms are great, clean, quiet with great layout and amenities and nice views. When I first arrived in Shanghai, my 2 luggages were delayed from the airport, so I was there with only my travel documents and computer, but the concierge manager Kate with her staff went above and beyond to make sure I have everything I needed. Couldn't recommend this place enough.
Good hotel. Clean, comfortable and in a strategic position. Rooms are very nice and clean. The GYM, SPA and Swimming pool, are very good. Breakfast it is tasteful and very well assorted. The structure it's not very recent and probably the price is slightly over the correct one for this structure (in my humble opinion). I was there to attend a show at SNIEC, and it could be reached even by foot (40mins) or by taxi (less than 10 mins). I can anyway rate my stay as pleasant.
The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful. A thank you goes to the staff of the Executive Lounge, Vicky and the entire team helped with logistics for my trip with my many questions. Communication was easy. I would return to the Renaissance Shanghai Pudong Hotel when visiting Shanghai. I selected a Marriott brand hotel for dependable and reliable service instead of a nearby hotel where my business meeting was held, I am glad I did.
