Park Hyatt Shanghai5.0 out of 5.0

I stayed at the Park Hyatt SH for a few days over NYE. The view is astonishing from all parts of the hotel, service is top class and the overall feeling just breaths luxury. Extra plus for the generously bathrooms and the fantastic room service.
This luxury Hyatt is one of the best Hyatt property we’ve experienced. Occupying floors from 79 to 93, it gives a fantastic view over the bund. It’s location is also very central and it’s just adjacent to the IFC mall where shopping for branded items and good restaurants can be found. Rooms are tip-top and I especially like the shower and bath. I think it was the best one I can find in the many hotels I’ve stayed before. Service is good but it is not the best you can find for the Hyatt Brand. Still there is no complaint as they will try their best to make it a comfortable stay for you. Will still choose to stay in this property if we go to Shanghai again.
I have stayed in this hotel for at least ten nights. I loved the hotel, every bit of it. This time was a business trip and I stayed two nights in Park Hyatt Shanghai. I choose a corner room facing the south side of the city, and the view was as beautiful as the ones facing the Bond. I spent most of the time inside the hotel, so this review is quite detailed. This is the highest hotel in Shanghai with lobby on 92th floor. It's a breathtaking experience to see the skyline of Shanghai when the weather is clear. The hotel's service was decent as always, and delivers all the things, some quite silly, I asked. The hotel room is Park Hyatt style at its best, modern, clean, equipped with technology, and comfortable. It was spacious and excellent for business: bright lights, many lamps, comfortable seats and desks. The bath hub was huge and just beside the window, you can see the views when taking bath. The products were aromatherapy association, good, but I still prefer the Le Labo provided in many other PH hotels. The gym was excellent. There is also one no-edge swimming pool that hardly anyone uses, so it was a true joy. Usually no people around in the rest of the gym, just a couple of really friendly and helpful staffs. Speaking of the staffs, they were friendly locals who were willing to provide me some tips for hanging around the city. Comparing to other hotels around, like GrandH, Four Season, Ritz, this one is the one that made me feel most comfortable. It is simply the best.
Stayed here 2 nights. Have stayed in park Hyatt’s around the world so why not here! All of the staff are exceptional as are the rooms and views. As you’d expect it’s not cheap but the whole experience is world class. Showers in the bathroom are fantastic as is the full sized bath. Our room overlooked the Bund and although foggy/smoggy there were some speccy views. Although we didn’t dine or drink here we did have breakfast both days at the restaurant on the 87th level. Once again staff were fantastic and Martin Rohn looked after us very well indeed. We would also get the concierge to call the taxi and negotiate a price before we got in the cab. I have visited Shanghai on numerous occasions and the taxi drivers here are notorious for scamming us wideeyes!!! I would highly recommend staying here.
Staying at Shanghai Park Hyatt is always a breathtaking experience, even for an old luxury addicted dinosaur like me. As far as I know It's the only place in the world where that last 500 vertical yards to reach the Lobby are made in a rocket style no stop elevator in less than 40 seconds. The service is outstanding, the suites beautifully designed and the view..... well unique . You have Shanghai at your feet, from the cluster of skyscrapers in Pudong to the Bund in the other side of the river. My suite was at the floor 82 almost 400 meters above the sea level. Bountiful brunch style breakfast buffet awaiting for you every morning. Looking forward to be back soon.
Thanks park hyatt for an amazing stay at your hotel. The diplomatic suite was very very nice. The level of service of everyone in the hotel was superb. Thanks for the vouchers for drink + finger food. The finger food was actually very very good. Looking forward to be back.
I was fortunate enough to be able to stay at their Diplomat Suite this time and I was impressed. The extra high ceiling, the cozy living and dining rooms and the huge closet room was certainly hard to beat. The amenities were changed from the previous Aromatherapy Associates and was a nice surprise. Yet the wifi speed and connection was still far less than satisfactory and I suspect it was a problem with the telecom provider rather than that of the hotel. During my entire stay I switched off the hotel's wifi connection and used my China Unicom LTE connnection instead. Regardless of how many times I've said it, internet connection still remains to be the most serious problem of Park Hyatt Shanghai.
Hotel is very modern with amazing views. The pool is impressive. However there was issues with the strength of the WiFi in the room. Only worked properly in the lobby. Location not great, long walk to subway station and sterile shopping mall near by. Think it’s better to stay on other side of river.
Everything about my experience at this hotel was high class, high quality. The room was well appointed and large. And the staff we helpful, friendly, and (importantly) always available. Many restaurants within walking distance.
This will sound a grudging review I wind up at his hotel on the middle of the night unexpectedly after a delayed flight from Beijing I get to stay in the presidential suite at discounted rate and views on the morning from the spacious multi roomed suite are stunning .... yet only a four not a five rating? Yes the hotel building is super - high modern, views over the river etc But it took an age to persuade the night manager than at 2 am he had no chance of selling the last room - presidential suite - and that he was better off letting me rent it for four hours until I got up for an early breakfast at a discount than let me go elsewhere .... I am glad I did stay - the suite was enormous and quite something .... but I took me half an hour to figure out how to turn the pipes music off, quite a while to control the lighting and find the temperature controls for the bedroom so it was not a fridge and the mini bar was so well hidden behind a fake panel that it was hard to use. The bed was comfortable when I finally collapsed into it. The bathroom could have held a dance, with such a massive bath tub I did not want to waste water. Took a shower under the rainfall - this falling some 15 feet to the stone floor. Two issues - the stone floor of the shower is like an ice rink when wet - so very dangerous - and no matter how long it ran the water became at best tepid. This is not what I wanted nor expected at 3 in the morning . It struck me that opulence is easily the subject of poor design and whilst looking great was something that at home would be entirely unacceptable performance . Here you pay a fortune for it ... In the morning I had to hang around and play hunt a chef to get my scrambled eggs at breakfast and the service was not smooth nor sophisticated ease. All a bit lumpy really. No - an interesting experience but would I hurry back? Definitely not. It was as if the place had just newly opened and the team not bedded in and ironed out the snags. If you want the opposite service and room experience, equally expensive, read my write up on the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong - now they do know how to do it and ARE great! I would not bring my wife to this Hyatt. - she is really picky and this would not go down well. Nonetheless - thank you for a bed for the night. Appreciated but even at your discounted rate this was definitely not value for money ....
