We had an extremely comfortable stay in this hotel at a very reasonable price (around 500 yuan a night per room including taxes). It is conveniently located right next to Langao station of metro line 7 and it is right next to a shopping mall with a Lotus grocery store. The rooms were well furnished and equipped with a two burner ceramic stove, overhead exhaust system, microwave oven, flatware, cutlery, wine glasses, place mats and they even provide you with an apron. This is also the only hotel that has provided us with umbrellas. Internet connection is complimentary however some websites are banned inChina including google and facebook. The personnel were nice and allowed us to check in at 12 noon for no extra charge (this was such a blessing after a red eye flight). The housekeeping staff is always smiling despite our language barrier and did a great job in keeping our rooms clean. The lady at the reception was also helpful when we asked her where can we find Yang's dumplings she instructed us to go to the mall next to us and she wrote down the Chinese name of the restaurant for us so that we could ask the people in the mall for further directions. My only complaint would be the bathroom doors do not have a locking mechanism. TIPS: 1. Book directly from their website they offer up to 40% discount if you book in advance by at least 21 days or if you are staying for more than 3 nights. 2. Download the shanghai metroman app. This app can tell you the fare you need, travel time, train schedules (including first and last trips), and interchanges. This app could also work offline. 3. To get to the hotel from Pudong international airport get on Pudong station of metro line 2 then transfer to train bound for east xujing at guanglan road station (still part of line 2), then transfer to train bound for Meilan lake (line 7) at Jing-an temple station your stop would be at Langao road station then take exit 3 or 4 (closest exits to Modena). Fare would be 7 yuan and travel time would be 1.5 hours. You may also take the maglev train at Pudong international airport then transfer to line 7 bound for Meilan lake at Longyang road station then just disembark at Langao road. Fare would be 55 yuan and travel time would take about an hour. 3. To get to Disneyland we followed the route with the shortest travel time according to metroman (took us 1 hour and 6 minutes): We got on line 7 bound for Huamu road at Langao station then we switched to line 12 train bound for Qixin road at Middle Longhua station then we got off at Longhua station (station right after Middle Longhua) then follow the directions at Longhua station to line 11 interchange (this would involve exiting the station and a short walk of about 100m along a small street and entering a subway station) bound for Disney resort. Metroman indicated that the fare would be 6 yuan however prior to entering line 11 you would need to buy another ticket costing 5 yuan so our total fare was 11 yuan.

The serviced apartment is still well managed.  Things are run so smoothly and quietly. Service is still above all marks ! The daily tariff is very competitive by all measures so it makes the place even attractive for us. We return again and also recommend strongly.

One of the most memorable stays in a hospitality for a long while. At arrival, the doorman was helpful in carrying the big pieces for us and escorted to the front desk which processed the check-in speedily. That was impressive indeed. No nonsense type of efficiency and work attitude was clearly seen from the staff at the start. Room was arranged well and cleaned professionally. We enjoyed the bedding, furnishings and in-house facilities. These were suitably chosen for guests away from home with a touch of family in mind. The breakfast was really good with quite a bit of choices at a great deal which we recommend to all. We really had a great stay at the property which is being Run well. Thus we must offer high praises !

I stayed here for 2 days last month and was absolutely inpressed with all aspects of this property. The loft room that I was assigned was great. Breakfast was ok but the value for money that this property gives is outstandi

I love this place where i have already been more than 10 times because when i arrive in the building I feel just like entering the building of my appartement. The beds are confortable and the kitchen easy to use with shops at proximity. Personel is helpful and smiling and it is the same over and over again and they welcome you.

All in one, you can find all the daily needs in this apartment but some how requires renovation. Apartment was in three steps, everything was present but only for young members. For old people not recommendable because of steps within apartment. Slightly old & you will feel it. For smokers you will find a place to smoke outside the room because of balcony. Only 3 star in my opinion due to interior. Staff helpful 7 room service was ok but I switched to another hotel due to satisfaction. Not 4 star property.

This hotel apartment has everything you need for business teavel or pure pleasure visit. Everything is cleaned and maintained well. Dorman is always energentic in offering assistance and thus deserves strong compliment. Front desk is friendly and proactive in greeting guests. The breakfast is one worthy of recommendation too, at USD10 per adult, which includes different bread, quite a few soft drinks, coffee, omelette, cold cuts and hot dishes. Truely a memorable place we would recommend to all particularly those conscious of budget but picky about service.

I went to Shanghai with my mom. Two girls exploring Shanghai carrying huge luggages so finding a place to stay with an easy access to public transport is important. Modena is not only close to metro and bus station, it is also close to a mini-market and easy to find. (Mind you we don't read hanzi nor speak chinese, and google map is just a no no in China) We caught a red eye flight and were lucky enough to get an early check in. The room is beyond beautiful, so photogenic. I put it on my instagram and my dm is soon flooded bu question "where is it?" It is that beautiful!

We stayed in the deluxe twin room.Felt like a 4 star hotel when we walked into a grandiose lobby greeted by professional reception staff and that soft hotel music playing in the corridors. Facilities are great with a small clean gym onsite, supplying water and towels, airy breakfast area, playroom and TV room. The breakfast was average though, western options being bacon, sausages, cereal and croissants. Big variety of delicious Chinese food, small salad bar and a 2 fruit selection. Extremely comfortable beds and smart urban loft design. Small kitchenette is more than what you need when you're eating out most of the time. The bathroom has a big shower but the shower floor could be cleaner. The room in general was clean but the stairs were a little dusty when we checked in. Loved the upper class location, in a quiet circle with many family marts close by, Starbucks right next to the hotel and the subway across the road. Big problem we had was with the room not being soundproof so you hear noisy neighbours in the halls and when they walk up and down their stairs next door. Our stairs were creeky too. You can also see sillouettes in the bathroom through the glass domed door, so probably not suitable if you're two couples for instance. Other than that we were very comfortable here!

The hotel is not within walking distance from any of the tourist spots or financial centre. So if you are only going to be in Shanghai for 2 days or so, you will probably be better off staying somewhere else. Having said that, the hotel is right above an underground train station. Shanghai Metro is easy, clean and safe, as long as you stay away from rush hour traffic. It's cheaper and more reliable than taxis too. The rooms are split level condo units. As you walk in, it's the dining area and a small kitchenette. There are plates, bowls, glasses, cutlery, pots and pans. Enough to make a simple breakfast but not a turkey dinner. You go up a half level and it's the living area, with generous sitting space. There is also a walk out balcony that has room for 2 or 3 persons. Top level is the bedroom and bathroom. Service is great. All calls were answered promptly and dealt with efficiently. Check in and out was a breeze. Breakfast was of good quality and variety, for both Chinese and Western preferences. Air conditioning was nice and cool, a welcoming relief to come back to the room after the 41C heat in Shanghai. Front desk and doorman were helpful and extremely friendly. The area around the hotel is a residential area with new condos in an older area. Next to the hotel is a shopping complex with local shops (no chain stores!), supermarket, convenience stores, hair salon, spa, banks and ATMs, food court and many restaurants. Everything is just around the corner. I would give this hotel a perfect 10, except for a slightly mouldy smell in the bathroom, but I believe it's a problem with the design of the drain, and not housekeeping.
