They Hyatt on the Bund became my Hotel of Choice in Shanghai from the day it opened . Location / Rooms / Food outlets / healthclub and service all match up to what one expects from a 5 Star Hotel . The Check in Experience was friendly , fast and personal. The Restaurant outlets - Xindalu and Vue & Vue Bar exceptional- Top service - The concierge team suggested an refreshing insider list of restaurant and sightseeing tips not so easily to be found with out their suggestions. Transportation within the city perfectly arranged.
Great room, very helpful and nice staff, great quality of food and beverage services (Xindalu is an amazing restaurant, and View Bar gives you well... A great view on Shanghai). I stay there every time I go to Shanghai (once a month for the past 6 years)
Outstanding visit both in term of location, view as well as service. It look outdated but it is not. The food quality is "good" ( not outstanding) but over all a very good price quality ratio. Best among restaurants is definitely the chinese one. The european restaurant is soso.
Poor customer service, tired rooms, wifi terrible. Room smelled of mildew. TV remote not working had to plug and unplug the tv for it to turn on or off. Hotel needs a refresh badly. The only good thing going for it now is the location and rooftop bar
Arrived at 9am in Sunday however room was not ready but manager was very nice to accommodate me and told me that the room will be ready in an hour next to the hotel was a Starbucks relax and enjoy a cup of latte and within the hour he hotel called Though they could only arranged for a twin bedded room however I appreciate their gesture as I was really tired after a red eye flight just needed to rest Checked in quickly to the room and view was stunning Relax on the couch enjoying the view and I felt asleep !!!! Location of the hotel was convenient walking distance to metro station
It was my first time lodging nearby the bund and definitely will come back in next visit. The unblock view from my room can see the other side of bund and the building, include Pearl Tower. The views is even more excited to watch at evening that towers and buildings shine brilliantly. If it is not able to satisfy the camera, you can just go to the bund by 10mins walk. The hotel location is great for Bund view but will be need a bit walk to metro station. The pool and gym are fabulous that i never seen that big indoor pool in others hotel.
Excellent Hotel for business. Great service orientated staff in all outlets. Xindalu Restaurant serves excellent Shanghai food and cap the evening off at the Vue Bar to enjoy the best view of the Bund.
The best and great hotel in Shanghai with all sofisticated comfort along the bank of the very busy Huangpu river and the magnificent view on Pudong high rising tower buildings, illuminated every nights.
We heard that the view from the Vue Bar at the Hyatt on The Bund was worth a visit. Before rushing here, be aware (unlike us, even when we asked at the hotel entrance about the bar) there is an entry charge of 110 RMB per person, which includes a "standard" drink. If you don't like the extremely limited choice of "standard" drinks, you cannot use the entry ticket against any other drinks. Why not???? When we asked if this would be possible, as we would like to pay more and have a cocktail, we were told by a very rude employee: "Listen to me!" No! you cannot do that!". He must have been having a bad day, but why take it out on us? Or just maybe staff get fed up with this question, so maybe change the rule??? Yes, the bar has a great view, sullied by the miserable treatment of us, as paying guests. I'm sure there may be other places with an equally good view where guests aren't made to feel so unwelcome, so I'd give this place a miss. We won't return. If you want return business, Hyatt, retrain your staff. Or change the stupid rule.
If you are sick of Chinese food, do check out the Sep promo at Hyatt on the Bund - Garden Party at their tea room fri-sun 5.30 - 7.30pm. I was impressed with the high quality food served from salad selection to fine meat (sausages, chicken, lamb and steak). All for RMB200 inclusive of free flow Kirin! Also, I got to know they make their bread fresh! Thanks to Chef Benjamin for letting me know:) I normally wasn't a bread fan (you hardly can get good ones in SH) .. I finished them this round and were delicious! Both Benjamin Hotter and Connie Shi were great hosts making sure all were good! Thanks, will definitely book the champagne brunch at Vue soon...
