Hyatt On The Bund5.0 out of 5.0
Recent guest reviews
I have done quite a bit of travelling since my retirement five years ago, but never had the urge to write a guest review until my recent visit to Shanghai. Or, to be exact, until I met Neil Li of Hyatt on the Bund. As one of my party of four seniors (my brother in law) is aged 80 and has to use a walking stick, I asked the hotel beforehand if they could provide a wheelchair for him to get around in Shanghai. The reply was swift and positive. This relieved our anxiety immensely. Then just before we were about to leave for Shanghai, my borther in law fell ill and, together with my sister, were unable to travel. I informed the hotel accordingly. In no time, Neil responded to convey his concern and also offered to cancel the hotel booking. This warmed our hearts. When I arrived at the hotel with my other sister from Canada, Neil was already waiting in the lobby. He accompanied us to the Bund Club, personally checked-in and upgraded us to a room on the executive floor, and briefed us about the facilities in the hotel. During our four days' stay, we enjoyed thoroughly the panoramic view of the Shanghai Bund from our room, fruit plate, daily breakfast and sumptous evening cocktail at the Club, the luxurious decor of the hotel and aboveall, Neil's humour and hospitality. Hｅ made us feel at home while ｂｅｉｎｇaway from home. T Neil came to say goodbye when we checked out; his team was also brilliant. We'll definitely be back. Hyatt on ｔｈｅ Bund is a five-star hotel with a seven-star Neil!
High end hotel at a very good location, the room is very comfortable and very well designed. Highly recommended if money is not an issue. I prefer Hyatt as compare to peace hotel. Slightly longer walk to the attraction as compare to peace hotel.
Our first time staying at Hyatt on the Bund, would totally recommend it and will definitely be back! Very good location and fabulous view from the rooms! Great F&B offerings, must have a drink at the Vue Bar and check out the amazing view from the top! Service from most of the staff were outstanding!
We stayed in shanghai as a last stop to a 17 day trip through china. We always choose our hotels based on location, view and having a balcony. We decided to splurge for the river view king suite ( about $500 US per night) which had a balcony and guarantees a view, and had access to the bund level breakfast and happy hour buffets. Our hotels were so inexpensive on our earlier trip we figured it was worth the luxury. We got our kids the standard king river view room, which was less than 200 US per night. Their room had a good view, but no balcony. The suite was well worth the cost to us. The buildings are oval in shape, and our room was the end of the oval overlooking the river, pudong and bund with a 270 degree view. We were on the 21st floor. The room was a true suite with separate bedroom, shower and view tub, very nice. The breakfast and happy hour were absolutely top notch and outstanding. Incredible quality and variety. The staff was great; our room wasn't ready when we arrived (the 1st of January) and we had to wait a bit, they were so apologetic they let me upgrade our kids to the same room type we were in at a reduced amount, which was a nice surprise for them. The staff was exceptional; especially nick who helped us out a lot. The location is a 5 minute walk to the bund walking area, so very convenient. But, as you can see from the photo from our balcony, the view was the star and it was incredible. We couldn't get enough of it and one of the best views we have had from a hotel anywhere.
While the lobby area is not very attractive and can do with better furnishings, the rooms are comfortable enough, and the views are great. However, I think the bathing area is not well designed, for the water does not drain easily enough. Breakfast selection is decent, and service staff is well trained and polite. Pool and gym facilities are good. I would say very good, in fact! Free fruits available on every level too, so that is a nice touch. Overall, it is good, but price is rather steep. Quite a walk to the nearest train station, though.
New Year's Day stay at the hotel, I feel very satisfied, the hotel's location, close to the Bund, you can walk directly back and forth; the layout of the room is very warm, very comfortable bed towels, towels and towels are also very soft and comfortable room large floor to ceiling windows lying Pearl of the Orient can be seen on the bed, the room has a small bar counter, facilities are complete, separate toilet and bathroom, shower and bathtub are also separate, which is very good. Top bar view invincible Huangpu River glance, guests usually free access, the key is you can drink while bathing feet, while enjoying the invincible night. Hotel staff warm and thoughtful service, rich morning, variety is also very large, 6-year-old children free, catering is also in line with appetite.
The room was very spacious with a great view of the famous Shanghai Skyline across the Huangpu river. The bathroom was immaculately clean and really big! I loved the attention to detail when it came to the amenities; the room had everything I needed and then some for a short business trip. The hotel stands along the very scenic Bund. The Vue Bar on the top floor also has a fantastic panoramic view of the Shanghai skyline. There are a lot of sites reachable on foot; there's also a convenience store and a Starbucks right across, but the place is a bit far from metro stations. My only complaint is that in the 3 days I stayed there, they served the same breakfast items. Would have appreciated some variety, especially because they didn't have that many options to begin with.
My family (me, my wife and adult son) decided to stay here to celebrate the New Year and visit families here in Shanghai as I had a good stay with Hyatt on the Bund a few years back. We had a good midnight NYE party crossed the river. We went out for brunch with local families on the New Year’s Day. We came back to our room at 3 pm but the room was still not cleaned. We had two local friends to our room at 5:30 pm for a brief visit before we had out for dinner at 6:30 pm. Just as our friends showed up, the cleaning crew showed up. We tried to accommodate her and decided to move our conversation to the bar upstairs. What happened next was unbelievable! We came to the bar entrance and the manager stopped us and told us only 3 of us are allowed to go into the bar. But my friends have to pay a hefty cover charge to go in. I explained the situation of our room being cleaned that we just needed a place to have 30 min chat and we’ll buy drinks in the bar. But the manager insisted that my friends couldn’t be allowed to go in. We spent the next 20 min escalating to different managers on duty (the GM was not working on Jan 1st) without any luck. During the whole time, the bar was completely empty. Finally, my local friend who belongs to a private club on the bund had enough of this b***t and told us to have drinks in her club instead. Thank God that we went to her club (Wanda Reign Hotel) and we had 7-star experience for both our drinks and dinner. Hyatt on the Bund almost ruined our New Year’s Day! Thanks to our local friend, we recovered. We’ll never visit this Hyatt again. You should be careful as well!b
31日に到着してお腹を空かしてホテル内のレストランへ。45分かかりようやく食事が出てきて また 一皿失敗との報告！ ひどすぎる 1) 注文時に時間がかかるかは伝えられる 2)45分かけて失敗はないでしょう On 31st of December, we arrived at this hotel and tried to have some foods as late lunch. The foods actually came out 45min after the order which they should have told us at that the order. Make sure to check how does it take for them to cook.
Every time I go to Shanghai, my first choice is definately the Hyatt on the Bund as it is fantastic in terms of location, staff's professionalism, views and restaurants/Bar. Next time I go to Shanghai, definately again!
