Hyatt on the Bund had been my go to for many years. I stayed this week for the first time in about 8 years and sadly the hotel has not kept up. The room is dated and worn, facilities seem to be all the same, which after so long, really shows wear and age. This hotel needs a big refresh. Still commands a great view of the city but needs investment.

Great location, trading on that. Compared with other Shanghai properties this place needs a lot of work - staff don’t really care about helping and don’t even think about trying to get a taxi in the rain! But an umbrella and walk to the metro!

Amazing view from rooms, luxurious experience, great bed and pillows, awesome breakfast quality, variety and taste, great location, excellent customer service, big rooms with all amenities highly recommended

Construction going on next to the hotel 24/7. You can hear it all day and all night long. The rooms are old but clean. The blackouts has cracks and lights will shine at 5:30am. Check out line was a miss. People just walk up and cut in line. Overall was such a bad experience.

Vue bar very disappointing. Not really classy I’d even say vulgar as many prostitues are hanging around trying to catch someone for the night. Champagne served into plastic glasses. Bartender didn’t even want to give us a glass of water to have a medicine. Watch out light on the bund turn off at 11pm so it’s useless to get there to have a blurry view of the bund (even if it’s not the hotel fault there). Entrance fee: 110¥ with a glass included

Had a bund river view suite and the view was just like their picture posted on tripadvisor. Also was able to have the buffet breakfast in the mornings, so many options for western and eastern food. Also got a chance to try the pool, good size, mostly lap pool people, a splash pool on the side is colder than the regular pool. Lounge had a good selection of food in the evening.

This hotel has one of the best views of the Shanghai Bund. Staff members are very friendly and professional, especially Mr. Fan (Troy)Wang in the club lounge who is so kind and will make your stay at Hyatt more like home. The only negative part of the hotel is relatively difficult to get taxi, especially during rainy days.

Room, internal also important to the customer. I hope that in the next future, you can provide additional router to the particular customer that having slow internet speed, in stead of mentioned this what we can go and needs additional charge for faster speed. Need review and improvement on this area. Many Thanks.

The location, if you ignore the ongoing construction right out front of the hotel is great. stunning views over the bund. However, the room was really old and tired. It looked like it hadn’t been redecorated for at least 10 years with major scuffs and marks over all the wood and carpet was actually crusty and this was an upgraded room! Check in and out was a pain, they have enough desks but it just always seems very crowded and slow. Lastly food, I had a couple of dinners which were terrible. Buffet lunch was again really poor and breakfast rounded out the subpar food options. I’m usually a fan of Hyatt but this property really doesn’t live up to the Hyatt brand at all. I won’t be back.

The location of the hotel is great, despite the construction site we had a great view from the room. The noise was not disturbing us either. The room was fantastic, very clean and comfortable. Despite the extra bed - for a family of three - we also had plenty of room for our large luggage. We were impressed by the bathroom, which could be part of the room, but could also be "closed" for some more privacy. Bathroom cosmetics was excellent. The double bed was very comfortable. The pool was fine, but we were quite unlucky because the pool was very busy on our visit, and consequently the area around the deck chairs was not very clean. Breakfasts were fantastic – in our three weeks travel around China nowhere we find a breakfast that could compare with this one. The restaurant area was very nice and tidy. The variety of food was fantastic with many different cuisines. Everything was very tasty, but we cherished most real French baguettes and great coffee that is both very hard to get in China. Hotel’s staff was extremely friendly and always willing to help us, and they spoke excellent English which is also not so common in China.
