I chose this hotel for its smaller room option as I was traveling solo. It was comfortable and pretty clean. The staff was usually helpful. The hotel is located in central Shanghai, close to the Jing’an Temple and Station. You can take line 2 directly from the Pudong Airport (with a 10 step transfer in between) all the way to the Jing’an Temple. Although the drapes and one was was dusty, it was clean for a hotel in China, while still being affordable. The lobby and gym were very pretty. They also have a spa you can go to on the 3rd floor, although the prices are a little high. I had room service for dinner one night that was disappointing: watered down soup with stale bread rolls.
The location is great, with awesome vies of Jing An landmarks. The hotel is nice, with a nice pool and good environment. The concierge staff could use a little training in how to be professional and friendly, but they are ok. The real negative of this hotel is the food. They cook decent food like total trash. They burn and overcook and ruined almost everything I ate.
Positives: Staff - Courteous staff from check-in to check-out. Laundry Services - Unlike some other hotels in Shanghai, this one did not have a washing machine in the room. Location - 10- to 15-minute walk from nearest subway station (Jing'An), a bit far in my opinion. You need to cross a long overpass and then make your way down a long roadway. Afterward, you still have to cross an intersection twice to get to the subway station. Moreover, despite having a major highway adjacent from the hotel, the area is relatively quiet in that I couldn't hear any traffic noise from my window. There's not much to do within the vicinity of the hotel; however, if you are ever in the mood for McDonald's, rest assured that they deliver to this hotel. Room - Clean. Basic amenities are provided. AC unit is provided. Large windows. Scenic view of Shanghai and major highways, particularly nice at night. Taxi - Coincidentally available when I had to leave for the airport at around 4 or 5 o'clock in the morning. Negatives: - Showers felt a bit cramped. Shower head is a bit low for anyone taller than 5'8" (172 centimeters). Bathroom, in general, is small compared to other 5-star hotels in Shanghai. - Connecting door in room. - Problematic in-room WiFi router (wouldn't stay plugged in; too heavy to adhere securely to outlet). Ethernet cables were non-functional (worn out, damaged). - Several items on the mini-bar list were missing.
good location next to the metro. Staff very courteous and helpful. The upgrade to the club room was a really good deal.Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Its a short walk through the pedestrians crossing to the park and the big temple.
It was affordable place per night and rooms were larger than expected. Very clean hotel, newly renovated i believe. Great gym all new equipment. Hotel is near some good malls if you want to do some shopping. It's not a 6-star hotel, so don't expect the Ritz - however great for a biz trip or a holiday getaway for someone who wants a affordable but clean hotel with reasonably comfortable amenities.
This is a relatively affordable luxury hotel. The room was pretty well flawless. Beautiful view of the city. Wow factor here. Big comfortable bed. Nice furnishings. Good heater/aircon. Strong wifi connection. The breakfast selection is varied and plentiful. The pool is about 15 m long. The gym is adequate. This hotel is just 200 metres or so from the Jing'an Temple subway on Line 2. We found more than enough in the area to see. Taxis in Shanghai are quite cheap. We took one to the Golden Jade Temple from here for something like 3 or 4 euros. The Jing'an temple is a stroll away. The northwestern part of the French Concession is not far away either. We enjoyed our walk through this area. Plenty of modern malls around, if that's what you want.
We spent three nights at the Equatorial and really enjoyed our stay. Although getting there from the Laoshan Maglev stop was challenging, it is a short stroll on the overhead bypass to reach the Jig’nan Temple metro and shopping arcade. Tranquil settings and typical Chinese breakfast - not much spoken English, however this was adequate to make our stay enjoyable. We managed to find an authentic Indian restaurant- Kaveen’s across the road, and this gave us our dose of spice in the cold 3 degree C weather. Using the metro was easy and we then opted for the Big Bus hop on bus to see the city sights, including the Bund, Peoples Square and other highlights Eas
Stayed here for 2 nights. Did not expect anything since i’m not familiar with the hotel. Checked in and out was fast. Service was great. Breakfast is ok. Location is really good. Close to subway and there are nearby malls. Beside the hotel, there is a Lawson. Tried there gym and pool and it was great. Overall, would definitely go back and recommend this hotel.
The hotel is in Jig'nan Temple area, happening place with shopping , restaurants, nearby metro station and a bus station from where you can go to the airport or from airport to this place in 22 Yuan. The rooms are good. i stayed twice in a week, 1st time the room was a bit small but quiet. 2nd time when i checked-in, they gave a free upgrade , the room and bathroom are very big, only thing, it is roadside so continuous noise of cars. Good property , best location
The location is not the best -yet not far from downtown, you need to get a taxi though -and the hotel is quite average for a business trip. I can't highlight anything special -rooms, breakfast, and so on - from my stay but the staff -they were fluent in English, and willing to help -and the impressive views from my room. The fare was ok for what the hotel offered.
- Walking distance to Jing An Temple
