Modern, well equipped good hotel. great value for money. Buffet breakfast was good and rooms are spacious and well manintained. the only negative is that it is located very out of town and travelling to main city to see the attractions is a long distance, about 40minutes, thus costly. They have a selection of pillows, but these were not available for some reason.
We had a 2 night stopover at this very modern and clean great value hotel. The bed and pillow selection are just fantastic for a good nights sleep after a day of sightseeing. The excellent Chinese and Western choice breakfast was included. The hotel is close to the airport and would suit business travellers but probably a little to far away from the CBD tourist areas for a tourist required to organise own transportation. Our stay was part of an organised Nexus China tour from Australia and was super for us as we just slept , ate and off again to see more. Well and truly exceeded our expectations.
Very close to National Exhibition Center and Hongqiao hub. A friendly smile in the morning when entering the breakfast area made my day. The lady at the Chinese noodle soup counter knew my favorite at the 3rd day and prepared my special during my stay with just a nodd. The same with the lady at the espresso machine preparing our morning cappuccino. During our stay the personal was extremely friendly. Overall the food at dinner was good. We had 4 dinner in total. Looking forward to return in 2019.
Great hotel, close to the National Exposition Center but otherwise the location is not suited for tourists. Clean, nice rooms, good service and great breakfast with both Chinese and Western options. -Getting a taxi on busy mornings is difficult. Either use some ride sharing app or be prepared to wait. -Taxi to the National Exposition Center is about 10 minutes on the weekend, 20+ on weekdays. -Register in Holiday Inn loyalty program for a little more ViP breakfast with some extras available. -The closest ATM is down a side street, go with someone if you can. -Far from downtown and not much of the big time Shanghai cosmopolitan feel here.
If you like to visit Qingpu district, Holiday Inn Shanghai Hongqiao West is the perfect hotel. Decent breakfast with both Chinese and western style. If you are Spire Elite member, you get free upgrade to executive level with suite room. Then you can enjoy more private breakfast at high floor executive lounge. The swimming pool is spacious with shower facility. Unfortunately I stayed just for short time period, otherwise I definitely want to enjoy more time in this hotel.
Stayed for 2 nights on business trip. The hotel is quite recent, rooms are spacious, beds are ginormous even by US standards! Nice bathroom but no minibar. The only drawback is the food. Persistent smell of grease in restaurant, quality of breakfast or dinner awful For continental as well as for Chinese dishes. Solve this and the 4th circle is yours
We arrived late (11pm) and check in was quick, the staff very friendly. We stayed at this hotel to attend the 2017 Textile Fair at the nearby exhibition centre in Shanghai. The hotel provided a convenient shuttle bus to take visitors there. We had a twin room, very comfortable twin beds, complimentary bottles of water and toiletries provided. I did enjoy the buffet breakfast which seem to have a nice selection of dishes to satisfy the Western and local pallets. My favourite were the waffles, drenched in honey, and berry sauce. The waitress gladly made me a cuppachino (coffee). A short walking distance around the corner are plenty of restaurants for lunch and dinner. Hotel is clean, modern, and the gardens are beautifully landscaped and maintained. I would gladly stay here again.
After a long business trip around China it was nice to walk into this Holiday Inn. The staff are excellent and the hotel is clean. I like Chinese culture & food, but at times it's nice to step back into the west. I suggest staying on the executive floor for an excellent room & breakfast. The area is excellent for walking, shopping and see sights. It is a 20 min walk to the subway or the hotel shuttle will take you there. Don't be afraid, check out the small shopping district beside the hotel. Very nice. Perfect for a late night stroll. On my last trip I mistakenly stayed at the Holiday Inn Express across the street. It is also clean and 1/2 the price but does not have the amenities or large rooms of this hotel. While staying at the Express across the street we walked over to this hotel for dinner & drinks.
Stayed there for 4 nights as I had to go to the new exhibition center in Shanghai. This hotel is only about 15 mn away from the exhibition center, and for the ITMA they even provided shuttle bus going there. This is very conviennent. Rooms are big and clean, gym is ok. Breakfast buffet and speed of internet could be better. Many small Chinese restaurant nearby for dinner.
after the 3 hours flight delay from Guangzhou to Shanghai, we had arrive to hotel nearly 2am...with terrible tired.. so we thought we will have a good service from Holiday Inn... but what you think is not what you get... we check in for 2 rooms... just us...4 person... they mixed up our room... from king size bed change to twin bed and twin bed change to king size bed... it took more than 30 minutes to process the fully paid booking... we had mentioned clearly with them... which is to which... but they just dunt bother... and they don't smile... look like we are begging them to stay... Gosh... we paid not to see your angry face.. then after check in with 4 large luggage together with our France friend..there are no porter come and help... we not even know where is the lift... then we find by ourselves.. and saw a man with uniform standing there... so my french customer ask him, where is the lift, he just point the way and not helping... the next day we want to go to exhibition hall, and we ask where can we take the shuttle, they just give us a card... there are no mentioned which hall.. we should wait... we missed the morning shuttle... so we take a cab which didn't on the meter... charge us RM 60.... when we want to return back to hotel we tried to find the place to get shuttle, after we walk most of the hall, we can't get and during teh raining day... we have no choice to take cab again... for the breakfast, there is no much choice... most of the items are empty bowl at 8 o'clock... even my french customer also regret to take this hotel... he said cannot competible with other holiday inn... ..
