Staying in the Fraser Residence was one of our highlights of Shanghai. Service: Dannie and Nina were a fantastic help and our "ayi" always greeted us with a warm smile and prompt assistance. We had no language barrier because English is spoken throughout the hotel. Room: The rooms are spacious and fully supplied, including extremely comfortable beds. Amenities offered personal wifi router, full kitchen, panoramic view of Shanghai, air filters, washer, dryer, and top-of-the-line bathrooms. Plus, breakfast is Element Fresh...our favorite. :) Location: The location is perfect, huddled between popular metro stations. It was a treat to come home to the Fraser. Highly recommend. We plan to return.

As a regular guest of Fraser Residence Shanghai, it was yet another fascinating experience at the Property. The hotel is located near Xintiandi, five minutes walk from the nearest Metro Station Dashijie on Line 8 and all Branded retail outlets as well as eating outlets are located around the corner. The breakfast at Element Fresh though with limited choices but is right for a person who is into eating healthy. I was booked into a deluxe one bedroom apartment with a separate living room with attached kitchen. The hotel free high speed internet access which is a luxury in a busy district in Shanghai. The meeting rooms, gym and lobby provide a perfect atmosphere for both travelers on leisure or business. As a satisfied customer i would recommend a stay at Fraser Residence Shanghai any day.

Nice place to stay for short-medium term. CLEAN and with al that you need to live at ShangHai Try to check-in with Nina, she was very helpful I miss a better business center to work as all meetings are held very close

As an expat in China, Ive been staying at the Fraser for almost five months now and, while outside its doors it can be crazy, maddening, crowded and even crazier, inside this residence hotel you can forget about these things. The little things I'll miss when i go back to USA: crisp sheets at your desired intervals, very cold air conditioning, good treadmills with views of "the Bottleopener" and The Shanghai Tower and the wonderful staff. Need a taxi and dont know the address? Need an extra power strip? Need a local-yet-not-too-local restaurant recommendation? Need some faraway food delivered? Dont worry, Nina and the rest of the front staff will take care of it. Also, the location is ideal: walk to Xintandi or the Bund or taking metro to go to Lujiazui or K11 or IAPM are all easy. And Shouning Road right outside is basically your kitchen.

Good: Great location, its at the border of the most expensive city area (Huaihai Road) and the cheaper down to earth place (Shouning Road). So you can choose to shop at the upmarket Time Square shopping mall for imported goods and grocery, or walk to Yunnan South Road for local fare such as beef noodles or skewered mutton. Every apartment is equipped with basic hotel amenities such as towels, soap, bath robes and slippers, on top of the washing machine, cooking utensils and cutlery. Washing machine is easy to operate. I ordered some stuff on Taobao.com which was supposed to be delivered the day before I leave Shanghai, but the delivery company did not deliver on time. Even though the parcel was not delivered, the delivery company YTO Express (圆通)actually signed the parcel on my behalf. I received the phone app notification that says the parcel has been received, only to be informed by Frasers counter staff that they did not receive anything for me. One of the female staff Cissy, called the delivery company and gave them a piece of her and my mind. The other party sounded rude and unfriendly but Cissy did not back down. All thanks to her, they finally delivered the parcel 2 hours later (sometimes you've got to be fierce in China) . Bad: The room service is not very responsive. I asked for an extra blanket and it took them more than 1 hour to deliver. Room is kept clean and neat daily but some furniture show signs of fatigue and is slightly worn out. The air-conditioning is not too powerful, I guess the summer heat makes it worse. The small Electrolux fridge is not cold enough even though I turned up the power. There is free WiFi in the room but it is sloooooooooooowwwww. It takes a long time to load a page. And do take note that you can't access google map, google search or gmail (or FB) using China's network, so don't bother trying. BUT you can still use baidu.com, for those who prefers English search engines, you can try Bing by Microsoft. Staff is not very familiar with the various options for grocery shopping. I asked for directions to supermarkets that sell fresh fruits at reasonable prices, and was directed to a fruit shop in the less glamorous part of that area. It was a good suggestion because the prices are more reasonable than the premium supermarkets nearby, but I found out that there is a Tesco Express near the cross-section of Yunan South Road and Huaihai East Road which sells daily necessities and grocery real cheap. I think this is a very important piece of information for hotel guests, the staff should know.

Really great location, the apartments are excellent. The bar on the 6th floor has outdoor seating and a roof garden, pleasant to be outside for a while rather than stuck indoors. The only draw back is the breakfast it was only ever served Luke warm or cold. Shame as everything else is great value for money.

Over the last 4-5 years I've stayed at the Fraser at least 10 times. The Fraser's large apartment style rooms have full kitchen and laundry facilities, offering great flexibility for guests who want a little independence. It's a short walk to a large variety of both eastern and western style shops and restaurants, and the metro. Staff are very friendly & accommodating. The Fraser doesn't have the luxury trimmings of a typical five star hotel, but that's more than made for with the flexibility of the in room facilities, and location. Free fast wifi (I've never had connection issues). Great on-site eating at Element Fresh cafe/restaurant and Mayita (Mexican) bar & restaurant.

The Fraser service apartment has a very good location in the centre of city, near metro station and shopping mall enterainment area, the room was very comfortable with fully facility kitchen washing machine Blue air refrigerator and dinning area. The staff are very helpful and good mannered , they always greeting with smile, especially housekeeper Stephanie and front desk Terry, they provide very good service ,I'm very impressed by what they have done, thanks once again. if you need taxi front desk can offer for your, sometimes rush hours it's hard to get it , 6th floor element fresh you can get breakfast there but it's not buffet.Definitely will return here if I back to Shanghai again.

Love it here! Not really a 5-star hotel, but definitely worth the reasonable cost and a lovely respite in Shanghai. It is situated exactly 1 mile west of the Bund, just south of People's Square, and east of French Concession. The rooms are immaculate with excellent quality air due to filtration. I had a washer/dryer which was awesome. The gym is more than adequate - cool, well supplied, modern, and clean. They were super helpful and let me have a late, 2 pm check out. Definitely a great value hotel. Oh, and it's easy to get her by subway from the airport. There are no airport buses/shuttles.

Fabulous location - on the edge of the French concession, close to Peoples Square, walking distance to Yu Gardens, old town just across the road. Five stars for room, (with full kitchen, and washing machine/dryer), one star off for average indoor swimming pool, limited breakfast. Keep in mind Fraser residence is more like serviced apartments than a full hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. We walked miles in every direction from Fraser Residence - covered the French Concession, the old town, Yu Gardens and surrounding markets, and the Bund - Bund is a bit of a hike. The included breakfast is nice enough, but pretty limited - choice of any one set course. No juice, no cereals, unlimited coffee from urn though. We were there six days, so breakfast become a little monotonous. Don't be put off the main lunch and evening meals at the Elements (a Shanghai restaurant chain) though - we had an evening meal here one evening when we were too tired to go out, and ended up having several dinners here - it was that delicious and probably half the price of the nearby Xintiandi area. The room was spacious, great shower, bed and full kitchen. Especially appreciated the nice washing machine/ dryer. For those new to China - keep on mind Google and Facebook are barred here, so you need to be on another search engine to use the internet. We downloaded Firefox and speed on this was good. It would have been great to have view towards the Bund, but Shanghai night skyline is pretty impressive from any direction.
