We visited Shanghai for a weekend and Fraser Residence was a great choice. We had a reasonably sized 1 bedroom apartment with a very comfortable bed and nice shower + bath. The Residence has a gym and a choice of restaurants. Exploring the city was very easy, The Bund, People's Park and the French Concession were all within 30 minutes walk or a 15rmb taxi ride. Approx 40 minutes from Hongqiao airport - 80-100 rmb.
Glad I booked this place. Good location near several subways, especially line 8. if you don't have heavy luggage, take line 2 and transfer at People's Square to line 8 to go from the airport to the hotel. Just a few blocks from the Da Shi Jie Exit on line 8. Or take the Maglev and then line 2 then line 8. Beware at airport if you come in late, some taxi scammers will try to tell you the subway or Maglev is closed. Check the last train rides before you fly in. In my case, the Maglev was not closed and I was able to take it heading to the hotel. If you arrive late and the subway and Maglev is closed, just take the night bus to People's Square. It is about a 15 min walk to the hotel and you have to go up and down stairs across an elevated roadway so not the best if you have heavy luggage! OK, City Supermarket is about 2-3 blocks away, basement level of a nearby mall. Several banks including Bank Of China within 3 blocks or so. Basically convenient location.Rooms are spacious and modern. Kitchen, laundry and detergent provided-nice. Gym is better than average for a hotel. No jacuzzi but the swimming pool was clean and quiet. Although not all front desk staff could speak English proficiently, I was fortunate to connect with Nina Tao who helped me very much. Before my trip, she helped me research photo studios and a local fruit. Imagine my surprise when upon my arrival, she presented me with two types of tat special fruit! I appreciated that she took her time to shop for these items for me to try even though I did not ask. Also, she helped me deal with a local business and getting an important item delivered same day before my departure. Nina's personalized touch made my stay at Fraser memorable-I'll definitely be returning next time I come to Shanghai!
Extremely helpful people - one of the highlights. One staff in particular stands out (ask for Nina at front desk). She is excellent and so helpful! She goes the extra mile to help and solve problems. Great staff!
I stayed for 8 days for business and it was more than sufficient for the purpose of my trip. Room was clean, well designed and spacious. Made good use of the washing machine (they even give you detergent!). Bathroom was clean and spacious. Overall the room felt like a nice hotel + washing machine and kitchen. It rained a lot while i was there so it was nice that they had an umbrella in the room. They had a balcony where we can smoke. There is a gym, spa and two restaurants on the 6th floor. Element Fresh (one of the restaurant) delivers but they will charge you a delivery fee of i think 4 RMB. But delivery fee is waived if you have a membership card (free to apply). Element Fresh's is okay - go for the salads or any of the sandwiches, other menus are meh. Overall great accommodation and service - staff were friendly and professional. I would go there again and would recommend to friends and colleagues. Great service and accommodation for reasonable price.
I have stayed here quite a bit and the stay has always been comfortable. The location is convenient and the price is generally reasonable for Shanghai. Today I had he most abrupt and borderline rude poor customer interface upon check out. Maybe it was because I booked through Hotels.com this time and night direct through the hotel.
From reservation to check-out an excellent experience. Because this venue caters to expats living in Shanghia as well as short stay visitors, you feel the perfect mix of matter of factness and genuine attention. Proper rooms and extra facilities easy to order from the desk in the lobby. Ms. Nina Tao proved to best informed manager on inside Shanghai knowledge that I have come accross!
My daughter and I stayed here for 6 nights and we can't speak highly enough of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They helped us navigate our way around Shanghai, ordered taxis and even stepped in when we were having trouble with our interpreter. Chris on reception is absolutely wonderful as are the other team. They are all very knowledgeable about the city and their English is very good. The hotel is clean, nice bathroom, serviceable kitchen, greta washer/dryer and v handy location close to The Bund, the Metro and high quality shopping centres.
I lived there from 8/9/2017-10/9/2017. Once I get into the room, I like it and I think that is clean, but I lift the blanket and I saw hair in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That means the bed sheet didn't change when the last customer check out !!!!! I called the room service !! And said I saw hair on the bed sheet and want to change it!!!!!! That is really ridiculous !!!!!!!
We stayed three nights here last weekend for our first time in Shanghai. Its location was right in the middle of everything we wanted to see - The Bund, Oriental Pearl Tower, Yu Garden, Nanjing Road, etc. It's about 2 blocks from a metro station which connects you to anywhere you want to go. The front desk was pleasant enough though they could smile a little more. The breakfast (included) at the Element Fresh upstairs on the 6th floor was very tasty with a nice selection and delicious & abundant coffee. There's also a very good Mexican place on the 6th floor with amazing margaritas and great views of the skyline. Plus a pool and kid's play area. The suite itself was adequate. Not terribly big but considering how little time we spent there it was just fine. There was a kitchen, small living room, a comfortable bed, small balcony with nice views and a huge bathroom with a great rainforest shower that had amazing water pressure. The wifi worked well too. If you want more hustle and bustle in a hotel, this isn't the place for you. But it's quiet and in a good location. It's also across the street from one of Shanghai's last remaining old time food streets - Shouning Rd.
I have stayed here twice and always a pleasure to stay here.Such a spacious and a good call for family stay. Clean rooms and lovely staffs. The place itself is very convenient. Across the hotel you can find lots of restaurants and supermarket nearby.
