Poor stay experience

I had a poor check in experience. Room was not clean when I checked in. Hotel staff were rude and not friendly, and at times offered no help. Hotel had no facitilies. WiFi was basically non existent. Breakfast was horrible. Definitely never staying in this hotel again.

In Shanghai, Not the Most Interesting!

Coming back from the subway in the evening, I looked up at the two huge Everbright towers. Maybe 10 rooms were illuminated; it looked as though I was one of the only people in the whole hotel. This is a huge hotel, I was on the 23rd floor, and yet there seemed to be no one around. Not a good sign since the locals always know best where to stay. Note that the local area has a KFC, plenty of Chinese restaurants, but little else by way of shopping or interest.

It is not difficult to find a nice hotel in Shanghai. Just find another one! Don't be fooled by photos. At first, my confirmed 2 nights reservation was denied by hotel front desk while I checked in. Somehow, there was a big convention during that week in Shanghai. All of sudden, the price went to double or triple at that moment. After the travel agent(hotels,com) made negotiation with hotel management, they finally gave me a cozy room for one night instead of two nights. My conversation was cut off by a rude hotel front desk personnel deliberately during reporting my reservation issue. What a shame!! At least, the on site hotel manager helped me to reconnect the line. Thanks him!! However, I will not recommend this hotel. No nearby subway station. Wifi did not work and the help desk asked me to use the other room's number to logon. There is a huge night club on the lower level floor in the same building.There were some hairs on the restroom floor. Condoms are provided in the room. Any idea? Want to have a pleasant feeling? Don't bother with this one. It is easy to find a good hotel in Shanghai.

HARD LIFE

THE BED WAS SLIGHTLY HARDER THAN THE CARPET, THE MANAGER WOULDNT WASH MY CLOTHES ON THURSDAY ,FOR RECEIPT ON FRIDAY EVEN THOUGH THEIR OWN LAUNDRY SHEET SAID THEY COULD. THE RESTAURANT WOULD NOT GIVE ME A COFFEE AT 6:15AM ON CHECK OUT BECAUSE MY BREAKFAST TICKET SAID 6:30....??? THE FRIDGE DIDNT WORK, THE AIR CON DIDNT WORK , IT WAS 30 OUTSIDE AND THE AIR CON WAS BLOWING HOT 35 DEG, THEY SAID PAOPLE LIKE IT HOT THIS TIME OF YEAR, 2 DAYS LATER IT WAS 17 DEG OUT AND THE AIR CON WAS COLD.....

Nice hotel, inconvenient location

The hotel room was outstanding, but the location of the hotel - in western Puxhi, is not terribly convenient to the local attractions. The included breakfast was good, but they need a much large dining room. I would also prefer to see more selection of western breakfast items. Internet was abysmal.

Avoid this hotel

Very hard beds, bad food, small room, bad connection of internet, no wifi you need a wire. Staff at the front desk and concierge not very helpful. Close to a subway station, so if you go for a convention better stay in a nicer hotel and take a 10 minutes subway ride.

Hotel Location

This hotel is very comfortable and affordable, I enjoyed staying here for two days. The only thing that does not make sense is this hotel is advertised as "conveniently near of airport" , i booked this hotel because of that, in reality this hotel is very close of shanghai downtown, and not near of the airport. Watch that if you are looking for a hotel near of the airport.

bed was like sleeping on a slab of marble...

The Everbright Hotel is very inviting. Staff are friendly, breakfast is pretty good, the decor is very good, the rooms are clean and though they are a little dated the luxury is obvious. So why, when after a long day of travel and I finally decided to sit down on my bed, was the sound of me sitting similar to that of the sound of a wooden mallet on a slab of granite? THUNK! The beds are so hard that when I sat down I felt the pain go from my rear end straight up my back, into my neck and out the top of my head. I am 33 years old and when I awoke in the morning, after the worst attempt at sleep I have ever had, I felt like I was 96 as I limped around all day looking like an invalid. The pain is still here and it has been a couple of weeks since my return flight. Both my employers were travelling with me, they are significantly older. They did the same thing I did and actually pulled the sheet up to check if the matress was indeed on the bed. Needless to say... we will not be checking back into the hotel ever...

This is a terrible hotel. The food is awful and unhealthy and there are prostitutees everywhere, both in the lobby and the "massage" place. The neighborhood has more brothelss and nothing else.
