Stayed for a week whilst on business, got a good rate on the Executive Floor. Staff very friendly during my stay. The hotel is very accessible to a lot of surrounding amenities and transport links. The executive lounge offered a quiet place to relax after long days in meetings, with a good selection of snacks and drinks. A nice view of the city, when the sky is clear. Also the buffet breakfast was served in the lounge and gave a good start to the day, with a reasonable selection of world foods. Will stay again on my return to Shanghai.
Super value for family with 2 double beds. Excellent service, very clean rooms and nice breakfast. location quite near to subway and quite a number of eateries nearby. Excellent choice for family with young children at affordable rates.
I have been to Shanghai more than 45 times, and i have stayed in various parts of the City. I always like to stay in this area. ->Area and Surroundings: The hotel is 5 mins walk from the "Railway Station" and also from the Metro Station. There are couple of restaurants also across the road and also on both side of the hotel. There is a grocery shop just next to the hotel. Taxi was also conveniently available. It took us 70 minutes to come from the airport during normal traffic.I liked the location of the hotel. ->Room: We booked a suite room, and hence it had a living room and a bedroom. The living room was spacious and comfortable seating for 4 people. The room was equipped with a small fridge, hot water kettle, a iron board, TV in both the rooms. The rooms were overlooking the side of the hotel where there was a building under construction. There was not much disturbance due to the building under construction which should be complete till about July 2017. The bed was slightly not comfortable as it was slightly slippery (maybe the internal layer) and also it was a bit more deep. On Night 2 i was just twisting and turning to get a good sleep. The living room had a good work desk, but placement of electric points was not good, as it came to slightly hinder with person working on the desk. ->Bathroom and Bathing experience: There was only one bathroom, generally in a suite room there are 1.5 bathrooms. The bathroom was a glazed glass wooden partition with the bedroom, so if someone goes to use W/c at night and switch on light, it would illuminate the bed room as well. Further, bathroom had a Tub suitable for one person, a big counter top wash basin and a good spaced shower enclosure. The bathing experience was good with rain shower. ->Hotel Staff The hotel staff was always helpful and warm. The rooms have good wifi and its Free. ->Breakfast: The breakfast spread was good, but not as good as "Marriot City Centre", but of course that is a higher brand compared to "Courtyard" ->Swimming Pool / Gym / Spa: The swim pool was good and well heated. I went to have a look at 9:00 PM and still there were few people there. Special mention: Wifi Speed was good during our stay. and we loved our stay in this hotel and city.
This is a very good hotel, very professionally run and very focused on guest service. I've stayed here on several occasions. It's clean and comfortable. Not only does the staff always have a smile but they also have a knack for anticipating guest needs. I would recommend it above other hotels in the area.
As always, Courtyard Marriott does not disappoint except for their breakfast buffet. The hotel is in a good location, close to the subway and is clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly.
All the reviews about the amenities and location of the hotel is completely justified. One small comment though - wifi connectivity isn't all that great, with intermittent disruptions. Will definitely consider to return for a stay.
I have been this hotel for many times, this is a clean and nice hotel. Buffet breakfast is wonderful, even better than the Intercontinental nearby. Room is always clean and spacious. Thanks the Lounge staff Rachael and Alice, really appreciate their warm-hearted and professional services make me feel back home. Courtyard Shanghai Central is my first choice in Shanghai!
I've stayed at this hotel so many times and the the staff in the front desk like Jane Wang and Tony Shi are always extremely friendly and helpful. They always try their best to fit my needs as gold member of Marriott rewards program. Additionally the location is very good and convenient. The executive lounge is the best with generous opening hours and excellent service. Always feels like home when stay in this hotel!
We had a wonderful stay in this hotel with family last week. Hotel entrance looks normal but we were impressed by the friendly staff in the lobby and floor. Hotel was quite busy but the staff are patience and trying to help out all my requests. Every time I met the staff I was greeted warmly. Room is spacious (larger than some 5 star hotels). Happy to see some local food at breakfast buffet. Hotel also has gym and swimming pool though it is not big but sufficient. Great location with easy access to metro which can take you everywhere especially during the peak traffic hour. Hotel recommended Natural Musemum, just one stop of metro, both my son and myself love it. Will definately come back to this hotel in my future travel to Shanghai!
My travel gent booked us in here by mistake. We should have been staying at the Marriott in Pudong, the other side of town which is pretty much next to the Expo Centre. Staff is great. Room is relatively clean, BUUUUUUTT....... The purple felt couch, is, and believe me, I'm a guy so I know, is totally covered in seamen. I mean, it's covered in it. It's stained with it and it's gross. There's been absolutely no attempt to clean it or hide it. Buffet breakfast is far too Chinese. Nothing Western about it. All this food, but nothing to eat. That's because this side of the river is more Chinese than international. There is nothing to do here. This side of town, you need to take a cab to everywhere. Unlike other areas of the city. Seriously nothing to do or see by foot in this area. External restaurants- forget it unless you are Chinese. One Western style try hard restaurant called the Blu Frog, and do yourself a favour, don't challenge them by ordering a steak. It's a $50 mistake. My adivice is just don't.
