Enjoy a traditional B&B family welcome in the historic fishing village of Shag Harbour, Nova Scotia. Your 730 square foot suite with maritime flair is on the second floor of our fully-renovated century home. Beautiful outdoor areas & ocean access through our private woods. Free on-site parking.
Our rates are based on four-person occupancy; discounted rates for single guests, couples, and longer stays. Special rates for families with young children.

Things you should know: we have two friendly cats that roam the premises; we welcome pets under certain conditions but please contact us. We are not wheelchair accessible at the moment. Our home is on highway 3 - the Lighthouse Route - a busy road during tourist season!
Your suite: queen room, twin room, TV lounge, private bathroom; sleeps five comfortably. Perfect for one couple, two couples, families, or a group of friends!
Room one: queen bed with walk-in closet/dressing room, electric fireplace, TV, wifi/streaming channels, luggage racks, extra linens & blankets, local artwork & photography. Keypad entry.
Room two: Twin beds with dresser, luggage racks, attached TV lounge, extra linens & blankets. (child toys, books, movies, bumper bed rails, child-proof outlet covers & stair gate available)
Bathroom: walk-in shower, baby bath, extra towels, face cloths, hand towels, locally-made soaps & body wash, hair dryer.
Plus: large private hallway & foyer with well-stocked beverage bar (mini fridge, tea, coffee, water, utensils, mugs, glasses), bistro sitting area, historic wall map of the area, local artwork, lots of pamphlets and brochures to help you with your travels!
Outdoor amenities: shared furnished deck with dining area overlooking gardens, hiking trail to the ocean through our private 4-acre conifer woods; two hundred feet of rocky beach with fire pit & chairs for relaxing by the water any time of the day or night (when burning by-laws permit)
Breakfast: locally-sourced, charcuterie-style for all ages, served at our downstairs dining table, your upstairs bistro sitting area, or out on the deck! Seal Island Breakfast (scrambled eggs with lobster), Nova Scotia cheeses and preserves, fresh baked croissants, home made waffles, fresh & grilled fruit, yogurt with house-made granola, boiled eggs. Vegetarian & vegan options.
We know you'll love it here in Shag Harbour, nestled between the communities of Yarmouth, Barrington & Shelburne along Nova Scotia's stunning South Shore. We are an eight-minute drive from Cape Sable Island, with its unspoiled white sand beaches and the province's tallest lighthouse, as well as the Town of Barrington with shopping & dining available. The Shag Harbour wharf and lobster fleet are a short walk down the road, as is the Chapel Hill Museum and Sea Tower, with spectacular ocean views.
Extraterrestrial enthusiast? Then Shag Harbour is probably known to you as the site of the infamous UFO incident of 1967! The UFO Information Centre and crash site are popular tourist destinations, again within walking distance.
More traditional sky lovers, star gazers and photographers will enjoy our dazzling sunsets, sunrises & star-filled skies.
Unique local wildlife: seals, gulls, cormorants, herons, crabs & other shellfish, sanderlings, piping plovers and so much more are found at our incredible local beaches.
