We have just returned from our stay at Sunset Cove, and it was a pleasant stay. We were greeted upon arrival by the manager of our room, (Kudos Debbie!) she was very nice and helpful and gave us good tips on where to eat and the local tour companies. The room was typical of other condos we've stayed at, not a five star resort, but comfortable enough. Plenty of towels available and a nice big television. A few drawbacks I waoild say is the bed needs to be replaced because it is very squeaky! The tv didn't have some of the channels I normally watch, but I think we only turned it on twice, so not really an issue. And the biggest issue we had? The Cayman Island alarm clock! That's right, roosters are everywhere on the island and they will wake you up rather you want to be awake or not! The first night it was funny..my wife said aww how sweet! Roosters! But she didn't think it was so sweet by the 4th night..Again though, we'd still stay again.
We have stayed in this location twice and enjoyed it. It is located at the south end. It is not crowded, always has ample beach chairs (even during spring break). There is good snorkeling off of the property that is somewhat enclosed making it a great beginner snorkeling spot for young kids. the beach is kept very clean. You can order food and drinks from Margaritaville which is affiliated with the condos or from the swim up bar. It is not easy to walk from the development along the beach. There are some slippery rocks between sunset cove and rest of 7MB so we would have to go out to the road and walk back to the beach on a public beach access just north of us. The beach is very narrow at some point on the south end of 7MB. The location was good- We easily walked to the grocery store and several nearby restaurants.
Great location for these condo units next to the Margaritaville Hotel. Not only is there one huge pool to enjoy, but guests of the condos get to use the hotel amenities as well. Palapa restaurant offers about any cocktail you could imagine, and we enjoyed lunch as well. Units are spacious and well kept, and a mostly enclosed beach area offers easy access to the sea. There is a small reef outside the protected area.
While on a girl's trip, we rented 2 condos at Sunset Cove and the units were perfect. They were clean and updated, with nice kitchens, living spaces and bathrooms. We enjoyed the swim up bar, the pool and the beach area right in front of the condo complex. Sunset Cove is conveniently located with lots of restaurants and bars nearby. It's also close to grocery stores and spirit stores so it was very easy to walk or take our rental car and get to whatever we needed. Sunset Cove is simple, but exactly what we wanted for our getaway.
Stayed in sunset cove in the Cayman Islands and could not fault it! Big spacious condos, massive beds that were extremely comfortable, washing machine and dryer that was very convenient, amazing views from balcony, and a large pool with a swim up bar!
We absolutely loved our stay at Sunset Cove condos. The beach access was great as was the pool and hot tub. It was super nice to have a kitchen and grocery close by. We also walked to many different restaurants. There is always a public bus (van) or taxi available as well. Debbie does a great job managing the properties. Highly Recommend!!
We stayed at Sunset Cove we rented a two bedroom condo. It was not crowded plenty of beach chairs. We ate at Coconut Joes almost every morning it was good and inexpensive. Food is pricey especially paying with American dollars. The weather was 82 all week with little humidity.
We went there with 4 generations of my family, great grandma, grandparents, myself, toddler and baby. The beach is beautiful, the staff- security guard, those working in Margaritaville hotel (the properties share a pool) are very nice. My only complaint is that property doesn't respect the environment- there was no recycling trash bins, and in restaurant drinks are sold in plastic cups. I saw plastic cups and other trash littering the beach several times.
We have visited 4 times since 2013 and just love the 3 bedroom units on directly on the ocean. We stayed in unit 330 which could use some renovations. The beds were of average sleeping quality and the shower in the master bathroom leaked. The fridge needed repair (which was fixed within 24 hours). However, the kitchen has granite and there is a big TV with decent cable. The reason why we keep returning is the amazingly huge balcony that has spectacular ocean views. Perfect place to view the sunset. The beach is perfect for anyone with mobility issues and small kids. Margaritaville is nicely renovated and a good place to buy snacks or get drinks. We love the location because of its proximity to Kirk's (grocery store). It's an 10-15 walk to get groceries and the liquor store is next door to the condo. The condo manager (Debbie) is a great resource and very helpful. Just beware of booking this resort in the next year or two because there is a 10 story condo building (Seacrest) that will be built in the near future. Your quiet holiday on the beach might be ruined because of construction noise. We will return after the condo next door is finished being built.
We went to Sunset Cove in 2018 and 2019 .We rented unit 213 in 2018 . It was very nice. but was categorizes as Pool side . In 2019 it was changed to Ocean view which is at a higher price. So I thought if I have to pay the same price for that view I might as well change to a unit that is actually a full ocean view and closer to the ocean. So I rented Unit 322. It was a big mistake .This unit should not be rented until renovated . It had mold around the AC vents. The shower I would not even step into .Not from dirt but old and grungy . Etc The bedding in the second bed room looked like sleeping bags. The owner of this unit should be ashamed and the rental office should be telling them they need to fix this unit .But i guess if they can rent it in that condition I guess they could care less. Anyway I called the on site rental office and spoke to Debbie . She was very accommodating and let us see another unit # 121 it was on ground floor but it was a lot nicer than 322 even with the white stucco walls and ceilings. lol. I Have never seen anything like it before but we accepted it and had a Great time in Cayman. The grounds of Sunset Cove are well kept and security is always around so is safe . It was busier at pool and beach because Margaritaville's renos (which shares pool and beach with Sunset ) are finished. Enjoyed the beach . It is well kept . Enjoyed Wings at 5 O'Clock Somewhere . XQ's was good and reasonably priced . If you want a great Italian restaurant try Casanovas right on the water almost in Georgetown. For great Ribs Peppers All in all we had an Enjoyable trip . I am rating a 3 because of the nasty Unit but everything else was a 4.5.
